It was a different time back then, Richie Valens had a whole career and died at 17. Led Zeppelin sampled so much of his stuff that they had to pay his family and give them royalties.
Its crazy isn't it? Allen is always forgotten about but man that dudes rhythm chops were awesome. To be honest the whole band had their own thing and it was just amazing.
I've seen so many bands attempt this but you guys nailed it. Honestly, a lot of bands don't have a keyboardist and underestimate the importance of how much Billy Powell's piano added to the song.
Jared is a monster and fun guy you should look him up. He never uses a pick only rock guy I know that doesn’t. Beck didn’t use a pick but I wouldn’t consider his music hard rock.
Watching Jared live is like watching Ted Nugent in his early days. Cool that Zach Myers was there. Amazing version. Its all about the piano keeping that Skynard vibe.
I love how marty is just chilling in the pocket, no need to be flashy, he knows every single one of us will come crawling to him when we need to learn a lick, haha
See. There should be a TV channel that has 'live music venues' wired into it from clubs all across the country playing stuff like this. Awesome. Could run 7 nites a week.
It’s a shame Allen Collins couldn’t have got a 5 min pass from the almighty spirit he would have showed all these amazing guitarists how it’s really done wow nobody plays that solo like Allen Larkin Collins rest in peace freebirds.
LOl, I keep hearing "Hey what's up, you guys?!?" as I watch Marty. Now, I see him in the context of actual rock stars. Street cred enhanced, Marty!!! Great job to all the players - a killer song and nice to see everyone get a solo! JJN is amazing!!!
I was at this show, and it was incredible! Fun fact, Jared is playing the Paul Kossoff Les Paul here. It was on loan for the evening, and it sounded killer, as you can hear.
Kossof, everybody knows him without knowing,it's him.Kossof is the guitar player playing the guitar part on this old song "Allright now " by a band named Free.
So.....He said basically , We never learned this song ,, just was suggested at 9 a.m. that Morning. I don't if it's..... Or a lil disrespectful ?! @8:51 4 guitars.... I've seen Skynyrd, so many times & its such a Classic. E for Effort , Ha ha ha
Hell yeah and nobody will play it and why? The only one ever played it was Molly Hatchet this is really good thank you everybody should play it once in awhile you might be doing them a favor not disrespecting them because look what Skynyrd does
Gibson Lovers: "Look across that stage..." Gibson: Haters "They suck and can't stay in tune!" Gotta love it when gearhead wannabe's play in their basement and rail on the Internet about Gibson while actual touring pros "just don't know any better". ;-)

Hard to believe an 18 year old Allen Collins came up with this solo!!! Most underrated guitarist of all time and my favorite

He was a monster. So was steve Gaines. They are terribly underrated as band all together.
@@alexcorona Zeppelin did one song by Ritchie - "boogie with stu" is a version of "oh my head" - they did not sample/steal anything else from Valens.
@@alexcorona For one song, Boogie with Stu

The piano player on this IS Lynard Skynards keys player
It was all good but he treated the vocals like an afterthought.
I thought it was fucking awesome up until I realized they weren’t gonna do the best part of the solo
I kept thinking he looked familiar! @@j.r.g3548
@@stephenpuccio8373 I am purest too but I always try to remind myself they are putting their spin on it.
Dude killed that slide

Nuge crossed with Mark Farner, stage presence-wise, IMO.
Jared's and Richie's solos were so damn good.
“Friggin’ A” MARTY SCHWARTZ bringing down the house!!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🎸⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Yes Marty should do this more often,I i only know his lesson videos
Holy crap. That was taken to an alternate dimension. Absolutely incredible guys!
All hail the legend that is Marty freakin' Schwartz!!!
Average
Exactly. The other guys a Ted Nugent knock off.
@@mr.smithgnrsmith7808 how you doing... Out there in the wild, up on stage, with touring pros, while also holding court with your 4+ mil subs? 😀

I love how marty is just chilling in the pocket, no need to be flashy, he knows every single one of us will come crawling to him when we need to learn a lick, haha
Rock n Roll will never die
Jared and Richie can throw down! Dang!
What did I just witness this has to be the best version since the og.
That was EPIC! Monster playing by everyone- phenomenal rhythm section!
See. There should be a TV channel that has 'live music venues' wired into it from clubs all across the country playing stuff like this. Awesome. Could run 7 nites a week.
That ending was sick!. Awesome seeing Marty in the mix.
Jared James gave me his slide lol that shit was so insane
Oh Great, now I'm gonna have to learn Freebird
It’s a shame Allen Collins couldn’t have got a 5 min pass from the almighty spirit he would have showed all these amazing guitarists how it’s really done wow nobody plays that solo like Allen Larkin Collins rest in peace freebirds.
Brought tears to my eyes.
this was, in every sense of the word, EPIC!
The solo really give me chills to the bone like what the f-
Holy snikes, what a way to wake on a Sunday!! Jared and his group killed it!! Much love and appreciation!!
Jared Killing it with Paul Kossoff's 1959 Burst 🤌
Excellent jam by all. Would have loved to have been there,!
Jared is simply amazing!!! That jam got pretty wild!!!
Damn! I really really wish I’d been there that night! Awesome awesome awesome!

Marty you did well. I would be so happy to play with Falkner.
Yes to Marty!
Jared killing it on the Kossoff burst!!!!
Was about to ask
Legendary
When the crowd shouts "play free bird" this is what they mean.
Damn that was awesome!!!
RIp Gary Rossington, fly high free bird.
Awesome!
That was Fuckin Awesome. Glad to see ya Youngster Jammin Out°°
Nice show❤❤❤
Wow. The guy on the second Les Paul had a Randy Rhoads vibe to his playing. 👍🏼
Richie Faulkner from judas priest, seriously under rated guitarist. Rock 🎸 🤘 on.
Look up Richie Faulkner EMG on TH-cam. Great player! Super tasty and a ton of feeling/soul
So insane that the camera was shaking. Golly moses well done boys.
that's because they are using a stabilization mode and it actually makes the image worse.
The Bearded Band!!!
Wow 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
This is epic!!
Yes!
Best 4-man guitar cover ever!
Peter keys from Skynyrd on keys!
Of course the "guy on the keybords"...AKA Peter Keys of SKYNYRD.....
That was way cool
I fuckin love Marty! My guitar journey would have progressed so much slower without him!
YO FREAKING GOOSEBUMPS
Love the crowd's energy for Marty. Dude is a fucking legend.
I'm just hanging by a geezer thread. Do what you want.❤
Damn you guys fuckin killed it holy
Fuckin’. A’. That was AWESOME!!!
Is JJN playing Paul kossofs Les Paul??
Yeh, they certainly killed it...
KICK ASS !!!!
A 4 GUITAR ARMY !!
I STRUGGLE to play widdly bits on a 335 above about the 15th fret! My hand gets jammed in the cut away! Annoying cos I love that type of guitar!
definitive cover version
Right on...
I like the guy playing the Gibson👍🏻🤣
Being from Jax. Fl. I love that song. You did a great job on slide Jared. But seeing Zach Meyers playing a 335 type guitar just don look right. LOL
Damn, Shaun white killed it on slide.
F*cking COOL!
So.....He said basically , We never learned this song ,, just was suggested at 9 a.m. that Morning.
I don't if it's.....
Or a lil disrespectful ?!
@8:51
4 guitars....
I've seen Skynyrd, so many times & its such a Classic.
E for Effort ,
Ha ha ha
Awesome. What was going on with the editing? Some weird free transform stuff there....
FUCKIN MARTY SCHWARTZ JAMMIN SOME FREEBIRD HELL YEAH
didn't this guy use to play a chain saw during the 90s?
Phenomenal! Almost had a seizure watching this though, what's up with the camera at the end?
This is as sloppy as any professional should ever allow, but it's just cause it was a bit unrehearsed. But as professionals it was still incredible
Hell yeah and nobody will play it and why? The only one ever played it was Molly Hatchet this is really good thank you everybody should play it once in awhile you might be doing them a favor not disrespecting them because look what Skynyrd does
That singer is so tall!
❤🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
Cant hold back the stank face when the solo reaches that peak.
Wait , is that a Gibson drum set ?
Fucking right.
👍👍 🤟🤟
THIGHS
Come on .. pretendd you werent secretly waiting for mild mannered Marty to kick in!!!
This video brought to you by Gibson...
I bloody knew Jared would be lead such a legend
Marty Schwartz lol

Not enough guitar
Umm ya...cool .. end is so so. Best guys in 🏭. 5.2 at best
@ThePremierGuitar prize?
Other than butchering that lead (which should only be played note for note from the album or live version) pretty good rendition.
Could do with an extra guitarist
What fucking monster of a tone, I can't believe how the fuck he manages to sound like that playing with his fingers, it is just nonsense
Pure ZACK trying hard to solo after Richie… haha
Who's the short dude playing the 335 that isn't Marty? He's over there chugging like he's playing a damn Metallica song.
COPYRIGHT STRIKE, RIGHT THERE!
Too many cooks spoil the broth - the end section was a mess
We all know no one played it as tight as Marty
Peter Keys on the boards
4 guitars is so extremely unnecessary but amazing lol
He makes the same mistake just about every guitarist makes by leavin out the 2nd chord which is an F over a D . Very common mistake.
Really?? Pointing out a mistake. Here's a quarter, go buy a life.
Time stamp it
