Crikey, if i KNEW i had only 12 months to live, id be tempted to end it now to curtail the agony and misery... that was my first thought.... hope is the illusion of future possibilities. Not sure if i feel better or worse now.

Thanks Mark, that was a real help for me, quite a difficult exercise, but you really helped me to walk through it :)

Mark, I was trying to do this exercise for an online course. My initial reaction to the question "What's important in my life?" seems too broad. I think a lot of things are important, but that doesn't mean I am going to do them. For example politics is important to me, but also Star Trek. I am pretty damn sure I am not getting into politics and no one is going to hire me to act in or write ant episodes of Star Trek anytime soon. I am also a huge fan of Paul McKenna. Would I love to work with and learn from him, well hell yes, but again I very much doubt that McKenna or Robbins are going to knock on my door and offer me the chance to work with them. What am I not understanding that would help make this easier for me. Right now it feels very difficult. Thank you.

If you are finding it difficult doing it as an online course then maybe your preferred learning style for this type of exercise would be to attend a course. This exercise also works better when combined with a goal setting exercise so that you can identify what goals are realistic to you. We are running a course in Feb 2017 and here is a link to it if that helps: www.nfps.info/NLP-Masterclass

Hi. What you want to do is to keep drilling into your core. Politics, Star trek, Paul Mckenna are still solid concepts. You should get to the abstract depth. For example, Why do you really love politics? Why do you love Star trek out all movies? What makes it special? What's in it for you? There are other great humans out there. Why Paul Mckenna or Robbins? It isn't really about working with them. It's about discovering why you want to work for them or why you like star trek and then finding a way to integrate those values into your present state and space. If you spent time doing the value elicitation exercise well, you'll land in the abstract zone(feelings state). It takes time, but you'll get better if you keep doing it every month. As human beings we don't actually want physical things, it's the "feeling" we want. I hope this helps and inspires you. Thanks for the video @MarkDawes
