Hi Rob well I do exactly the same routine as your good self the only thing I have different is a set of blush brushes from large to small to do my 1/64 and 1/43 through to the 1/12 sometimes I use a little pledge polish which makes them really shine so we now all have some time to do them all fn this time of isolation covid 19.
A word of caution: 1/43 Resin models can be really quite fragile and it's almost impossible to dust without small photo etched parts flaking off, unless you are exceptionally careful.
I have many HWE models, old and new. Most of them become easily damaged due to the poor glue quality, even when I use soft brushes, ferrari badges, windshield wipers and windows sometimes fall off from the slightest touch. I’m just wondering whether your models face the same issues and what kind of glue do you use to attach pieces back together? Thank you
ROBS MODEL CARS is the glue transparent? And also do you face any bubbling or paint rash problems with ur HWE models? So far nearly all of my models have major paint rash issues which I cannot remove just by polishing. I assume the humidity in Australia isn’t as bad as Singapore but do u have any possible remedies or prevention for such problems?
@@SYF2000 it is pointless to remove the paint rash. I tried it on my laferrari and made the paint perfect. 8 months later, I can see some paint rash reappearing.
Great video and great tips and content in general. After watching this, I'm making a shopping list to get up to speed. I see that you use a lot of tamiya products, do you recommend using their wax on diecast models? Do you polish any new model you get? Thanks and cheers!
Great thanks for the tips. I have a lot not in display cases so these tips will help..I do a lot of content on rare diecast muscle cars mainly Mopars and some jdm and truck stuff maybe you might want to check it out and we can trade subs. Thanks for sharing
I'm hoping on getting one of these display cases soon showbox.ro/ The models are then suspended on a bar zo the wheels do not touch a shelf. So no stress on the wheels or springs.
if your collection is big, its a good idea to throw an air purifier in the room to minimize dust
We have that already, cheers
@@ROBSMODELCARS I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to the people watching the video. Cheers
lmaoooooooo
Cheers,very helpful
Glad it helped

I figured most would know how to do this, but thought I would post the video for the new collectors getting into the hobby
Good and useful video.

Hi, If i store my 1:18 models in display cases , i need to wax them or it is unnecessary?
Hello there
Do you know something how to remove some small scratches and yellow on headlights and a window ?
I have many HWE models, old and new. Most of them become easily damaged due to the poor glue quality, even when I use soft brushes, ferrari badges, windshield wipers and windows sometimes fall off from the slightest touch. I’m just wondering whether your models face the same issues and what kind of glue do you use to attach pieces back together? Thank you
And also how do u clean the windshield area in between the wipers, I personally use a cotton bud but it’s very risky
I use Micro Scale Kristal Klear. It is a water based glue and dries strong, does not cloud or fog clear parts, so better to use that than superglue!

So I have a white tesla model s for the tesla store do I just clean it the same way as the Lamborghini diecast
Thanks for nice video :) Plenty of my modelcars are covered with dust or bit damaged while cleaning😭😭 They're so hard to take care
Hey rob, any idea how to remove interior mold in a resin model?
Sorry, no.
I'm guessing it's a frontiart model?
@@sheeplegang7856 yep :(
Awesome video! Thank you!
Women's blush brush... essential!!
Doesn't rip of badges/windscreen wipers.
Rubber gloves, didn't know about that, thanks. Cotton gloves SCARY!😮😮🤣
Thanks bro, have to catch up soon
@@ROBSMODELCARS YES!!!
In what case do you prefer to use the cotton gloves? :)
Realy nice Video

I have not used their wax, I don't polish my models when I get them.
@@ROBSMODELCARSI thought you did, since your models look so good.
Any way thanks for the reply.
Would you recommend the same process for matte paint?
Can you use a micro fiber cloth for diecast?
Maybe, but I haven't tried. I stick to cloths specifically made for models
Yes but be careful
Hi , im quite new to the diecast community , any tips on maintaining chrome diecast?
Sorry, no. I collect modern supercars, so no chrome to be seen there.
Oh I see. Cause I collecting 1/64
Have u had any issues with the door windows on the gt spirit cars?
Not on GT Spirit models, mostly MR Collection models and older Ignition models
Does no one use compressed air cans?
The cold aerosol could potentially damage a high end model
Hi Rob, is there any difference between polish and wax and how often do you treat them? Thanks
Polish removes the top layer of the paint and removes scratches. Wax doesn't remove anything but seals the paint creating a hydrophobic surface
Does resin model roll?
👍

How to store diecast with rubber tires and prevent it glued into the platform (acrylic, glass, or steel) after several months ?
I'm hoping on getting one of these display cases soon showbox.ro/ The models are then suspended on a bar zo the wheels do not touch a shelf. So no stress on the wheels or springs.
I have a Tesla model 3 and model s official diecast
Best way to clean a resin car is dip it in acid or throw it in a shredder
