This soap cleanses, nourishes, and warms the senses for men, women, and children alike! Each of the 3 parts of this series will feature a different recipe. And the demonstration will guide a beginner and give some fresh ways for novice soap makers to try out an amazing process of making soaps for the home, gifts, and small batch sales.
    The second best soap recipe video, along with some special tips on different molds and strategies for shaping your soap will be in the next video. Then, there will be the release of the Wright family’s favorite soap to make at home with more ideas and tools to try out.
    Cedarwood Lime Natural Soap Recipe

    8.7 oz Lye (food grade)
    20.7 oz. Water
    1 oz Lime Essential Oil

      Ah, that is a great question! I fully intend to make these, but have not touched my soap supplies this year. Part of it is that I ran out of some oils and have not gone after these yet. Hopefully, this summer!

    Was it 35.7 oz of olive oil? Or was that the total with the coconut oil?

    Deed you need certification of wuality for this? Deed you checkibg the PH of the soap? ❤

    • @backyardadventureswithandy
      @backyardadventureswithandy  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello. I did not need certification, and my recipe is based off a mix of recipes from a book with altercations, for which I followed a calculation to ensure proper sponification. I encourage you to follow a published recipe your first few times.

    nice!! i did my second batch yesterday. im about 3 hours from unmolding and slicing. but mine traced real thick like yours, and ive been worried lol. im glad it still turned out great!! i scented mine with lemongrass. formula was about 55% coconut, 30% avocado, 10% castor, and 5% raw shea butter. my very first batch was 100% coconut just to see if i could make soap lol, and its easy and fun!! thanks for the video! 👊

    Have you made one using moringa seed oil or moringa leaves. I am also interested in looking at lemongrass oil and tea=tree oil any experiences with these?

    • @backyardadventureswithandy
      @backyardadventureswithandy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't used either of those items, but I have used both lemongrass and tea-tree essential oils. I really like the lemongrass mixed with rosemary essential oil. My wife likes the tea trea oil more than I do, and supposedly there are other purposed that the tea tree oil helps with.

      @@backyardadventureswithandy Thanks for your prompt reply. I am running some experimental extractions in a university in Indonesia and then utilising the extracts to make end products that the villages in poorer areas and out on some of the small islands can make. I have tea-tree available so will extract that and also have vanilla beans so will also try adding that. We also extract natural dyestuffs for use in batik dyeing so I am planning on adding that into the soaps and body butters as well.

      I suspect the lye or ratio you may have used is off if you are having a problem with the soap. Are your measurements precise? Thanks for asking and I hope it works out for you!

      I can't remember exactly, but I always have an extra silicone mold for individual bars ready for the extra soap. That way, no matter what recipe I use, I can pour the extra in there. Thanks for watching!

    Thank you! You make it seem very easy. Can I use plastic jugs or bowls? Or do they need to be glass or ceramic? Do the bowls need to be kept to use for soap making only? Will the lye contaminate the bowl?

    • @backyardadventureswithandy
      @backyardadventureswithandy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not know for sure with plastic, but I would be concerned by the plastic and the chemical reaction. Also, as far as I know, these can be washed and used for other things.

    I enjoyed this video! I made my first batch of soap yesterday and I'm super excited. I used a rather expensive recipe for it and I'm looking for more good recipes that won't break the bank. Your recipe fit the bill perfectly - thank you!
    Would you consider sharing the other 2 recipes you mentioned on the video? You've really got me curious!

      Thanks for watching! I am hoping to get these last two soap recipes made up and published this summer. A few years ago, I was doing this often and then I just stopped, which is why they didn't get posted. I am one of those people who get focused on something and go crazy! Anyway, I'll dig through my files and see if I can get these ready soon...but no promises on timing!
      With that said, I also was trying to avoid the traps of crazy expensive things, which works for some people. The one ingredient that I had bought in large quantities at the time which I am reconsidering is the palm oil. I would get a huge box of it at a grocery warehouse. but so many people told me that it was farmed in a bad way, so I need to learn more about that. More soon, hopefully!
