Costco sell them , I bought one necklace today plus it’s earrings, the necklace has one Pearl with 3 tiny diamonds on the the top of it , very unique

All pearls are too soft to make good engagement rings. A Tahitian or South Sea pearl ring should be a special occasion ring only, and not an everyday ring, they will only get damaged by daily wear and tear.
Other soft gems like emeralds and opals don't make great engagement/everyday rings for the same reason.
