    THANK YOU
    here in the US people rely way too much on apple/imessage and it drives me crazy. as a tech enthusiast it pains me to see all the other options and features out there and we just stick to one company through it all. ecosystems are the bain of my existence. glad this is being talked about more.

      My pleasure! Hope more people do the same, that’s the only way to make things less painful in future. Sadly the biggest channels out there are still fairly one-sided but I will keep trying 😊

      Absolutely agree! Super irritating when literally every single person I communicate with is on iPhone and they complain I'm the green bubble guy. I really wish the Sunbird app was publicly available now. That would solve SO much for us in the U.S

      Hear you, but not everyone cares about all the other options and features out there. I know people that just want a phone that works and makes staying connected to their circle fun and easy. Apple does that for them so they stay......forever. No matter what. It meets their needs.

    Does Google Photos store Samsung Motion Photos in a way that can be transferred to iPhone as Live Photos in the event of switching from Android to iOS? Can you use OneDrive or Dropbox for Live Photos or Motion Photos? Is there any way to keep all the personal photo metadata (ie: face or name tagging) platform agnostic or have it sync between the various platforms?

    I do photography as a side hustle and eventhough I have a MacBook and will soon get an ipad, I prefer my Samsung tech for this. I can deliver my work full resolution with no issues, no matter what brand my clients are on. Quick Share for Samsung, Nearby Share for all other Androids and Link Share for Apple users.

    I have two phones, an iPhone 13 Pro Max (main device) and a Galaxy Fold 4, but my main computers are Apple (Mac Mini M1 and Macbook Air M2); For me Microsoft has been the best solution. Using Microsoft Edge helps me move files and text in Drop, it works perfect every time, and I think Microsoft Edge offers the best desktop web browsing experience on any mobile device (Android, ipados and ios), for photos I use Onedrive, Google seems to be more friendly, but I need office because my work; I also have a Surface go 3, and I when use Windows Link, it works like a charm between my Z fold and Surface, Apple is my main ecosystem, but it's good to know that there are very good alternatives. Thanks for the video.

    Great video. I don't think iMessage should go to Android anymore than RCS needs to go to Apple. They need to develop something together, probably with MLS, that way all devs are on board and you're not playing catch up or working on more bugs when the implementation is put into place.

    • @AlexGTech
      @AlexGTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Option 2 and partially Option 3 are definitely a better option for me and those who use both. I rather just use both Android and iOS because no device or ecosystem is perfect so why just limit myself to one? Finding that middle ground can use across any OS was the biggest decision I made. It has allowed me to swap between Android and iOS fairly easily. Unfortunately it also made Android of more use due to limitations Apple imposes. Great video and many thanks!! btw - how about they support each other? iMessage supporting RCS and RCS supporting iMessage. Or something like Sunbird?

    • @AlexGTech
      @AlexGTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but I think it's with Apple really to "tick the box" on their side. Whether they support RCS or make iMessage work on Android, it's on them really to make it happen. Internally Apple though, it's well known that iMessage is the number one most difficult reason to leave the Apple ecosystem, and they don't see it as a benefit to them.

    Alex, eu ja sou inscrito no seu canal em portugues! desde o primeiro video q vi seu, achei demais!!! E tava exatamente procurando um conteudo como o deste video!! Estou tendo o privilegio de testar no dia a dia os dois ecossistemas Android e Ios (cel, fone, relogio) porem a maior dificuldade é essa da sincronização e achei fantastica as dicas (irei testa-las) no entanto ainda temos alguns empecilhos, por exemplo as carteiras digitais, q pelo menos no Brasil se eu habilito um cartao em uma, não posso ativar na outra sem remover o cartao de lá... um outro item que tenho dificuldades é o bloco de notas, acabo usando o do ios e do samsung e as coisas ficam separadas, se tiver alguma dica sera bem vinda!!! Sucesso e parabens pelo conteudo e qualidade de seus videos!! Obs quando for fazer um deste pro Brasil estou a sua disposição caso precise se atualizar de algo aqui ou precisar de um tester rs!!

    • @AlexGTech

      Valeu fera! Sim, as carteiras s~ao mesmo bem diferentes e dependentes do sistema bancário do local também. Aqui na inglaterra, podemos ter o mesmo cartão em vários celulares, mas sei que não é assim em outros países. Pra mim o Google Keep Notes é bem básico, mas me serve bem como uma "ponte"entre os dois. Uso também o Ulysses pra escrever, o que só funciona no MAc, iPad e iPhone. Então as vezes copio e colo no Keep Notes, se eu tiver que abrir a nota/artigo no Android. O evernote é uma boa opção também, mas bem mais cara...

      How does it work for me ?
      1) When i talk to people all around the world we use WhatsApp and i can keep the high quality for photos/videos with an option in Whatsapp : you chose to toggle it or not : it's up to you.
      2) When family or friends send messages or call on my iPhone, i can answer on my Windows Pc and vice-versa because WhatsApp works on both my 13 Pro and my Yoga Slim without any problem.
      3) I can start to write things on Google Sheets/Docs/Keep on my iPhone, then continue on my Nothing Phone and finish it my Windows Pc.
      4) If i’m reading a article on a Website with Chrome on iPhone, and i want to continue to my laptop, i just have to send it with share button on my Windows and vice-versa without any problem. Or more simple, since i use my Google account, every website i visit on my iPhone is also on my Windows Pc and my Nothing Phone.
      5) Most people in the world use Google Apps, Google Drive, Google Agenda, Google Maps so you can share things whatever you own an iPhone, a Nothing Phone, a Windows Pc or Macbook. It's reliable.
      6) When i work on some project with people, we also use apps like Notion, Canva, Google Docs or Google Sheets which works on every device.
      7) Each photos i take on my iPhone is instantly on my Google Photos. Whatever i use my iPhone or Nothing Phone(1), everything is synchronized 😏. i can access on my Windows Pc for editing.
      8) My Bose QC45 are instantly connected with both my iPhone and my Windows Pc. What ? Bluetooth and multi-devices connection exist 😅.

    It's going to take years for the masses to understand software, if you're a photo/ video creator, the easiest platform is Apple products, not cheap but has the tools to keep you working seamlessly. If you're not afraid to learn software, Samsung devices will exceed in any task, and if you want a top of the line unmatched computer setup throw a beefed up windows pc in there. If you're not afraid to learn and just want a in inexpensive phone, Google, Samsung, oneplus and nothing phone will be better choices than the iPhone but you have to do research regarding these options for the best fit. The iphone is no doubt a great package and convenient, just lacks a lot for the price. The system polish with what it provides will always limit you and for some that's ok, but when you start realizing the limitations and it becomes a distraction that must be fixed, adding a platform shouldn't be the solution, and the same is true for android and windows. If all you do is create and nothing else, apple is your home. Otherwise it's time to learn what your missing out on.

    I love my Garmin watches, but I I'm more than a little Android biased. I have had an IPad since the first one hit the market, but I bought a Samsung Tab S8+ when they came out and I like the format, display and Multitasking capabilities much better than my IPads. Unfortunately I have been buying Music and Books on ITunes for years so that part sucks. I think I fell out of love with Apple when they started deleting Music that I had loaded from CDs from my ITunes library. I have a Samsung Monitor and just replaced my old laptop with a Samsung book 3 pro. I still have an iPad but it is for emergency use only

    • @AlexGTech
      @AlexGTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed on Tab S8 stuff, so much more capable. Unless you are invested in Procreate or other iPad exclusive apps... yeah that move to cloud services is not stopping, sadly...That Book 3 Pro looks awesome btw, I am tempted

      If they go to other Android users who have RCS, it will go in high res, like iMessage. When you send videos to iPhone users, it will sadly convert the videos to MMS which... sucks

    many of you analysts and commentators seem to think that bubble color is the primary issue that people don't want to leave iPhone - BUT - if I switched to an android phone and What's App, I would have to convince all of my iPhone contacts to add the What's App app to their phones . That would be an enormous and thankless hassle. and even then, it would splinter my texting experience. That's the primary reason I can't switch...green blue or purple is not the issue.

      I didnt go into the detail here but I shared a lot about using the Apple Watch with Android, but not much on the Galaxy Watch as I don't really use one anymore. Maybe next year when the new Pro comes out, I will give it a go. For using AWU with Android, I found the best way is to have a cheap iPhone. all other alternatives are just too messy.

    I'm about to get out of the Apple ecosystem all together in the next few months. Tomorrow my OnePlus Open arrives and it will be replacing my S22U. And when Samsung releases the S24U that will be replacing my iPhone 14 PM. The only thing I'm not sure what I'm going to do about is my series 6 Apple watch and airtag. The watch I will probably trade for a galaxy watch 6 classic even though I have a galaxy watch 5 pro. Unfortunately OnePlus doesn't have a watch anymore 😅
    The airtag I will probably end up giving to someone at work with a iPhone 🤷

    I had a z fold 5 then I wanted to go back to apple after giving all my apple stuff to my partner. I do miss the apple ecosystem especially here in America, iMessage and the apple watch are literally amazing and smooth. All my passwords are saved using my face. Everything is just easier on the apple. I do love Samsung but I feel like I'm missing out on the apple watch, because the gear 6 sucks so much

      Yeah, the Apple Watch is super nice. I did find it difficult but eventually my reason for a smartwatch was for fitness and sleep tracking mainly and those two things were costing me money every month with Apple (Fitness+, Sleep Cycle app, Athlytic for better fitness data, etc)

    I have 30GB of music. I also listen to some streaming services but my music collection comes first. I know of many people who only listen to their saved and bought music collections. I don't understand how some people only listen to music from streaming services and do not own any music! In the end they are only renting their music and do not own it. If the streaming service goes down, zerro music! I am hear to say that not every one is using just streaming services. That is a very provincial view.

    • @AlexGTech

      THere's also the bitrate quality right? Depending on what speakers/system you are listening the music on, the quality streamed is not quite the same as physical media/owned music. Music services going down are unlikely, but Internet connectivity is definitely an issue for me, depending on where I am
