That was honestly my theory. Maybe he's got some of the former "good mercer" in him, OR he was prepping him for pariah which would have been the next villain, and sure enough isn't. I would have loved it if they made Heller and a reformed good aspect Mercer vs Pariah as a prototype 3 game Too bad it got shut down. Missed chance fellas.

I don't know what difficulty this was recorded at, but the counter damage alone should tell you how much stronger and how much Mercer is and is holding back.
It seems on Hard difficulty. On insane difficulty. Alex's hardest hitting attacks can do like 50% damage of your max health and defense. However his blade does 60% damage. So imagine doing this wthout any health upgrades. You will get 1 hitted lol.

To be honest I think Alex never wanted to kill James at all. He made James the way he was so that *James* could lead the future, and be something that won't just wipe out any last of mankind; won't be a beast, won't be a supreme hunter. James used to be human, Alex never had that luxury since Alex in the present is actually *the* virus in his body. The real Alexander has been long dead. Plus, Alex was literally teaching James in their fight- trying to make him stronger and telling to him to think about another weapon/strategy, or to be more creative. Alex will always be stronger than James (in my opinion!) but he deemed Heller worthy of having the same powers as him and deemed him worthy to surpass him (I also personally think that Alex wasn't killed at the very end, but everyone can think whatever in that situation). I really hope this series will get a reboot. Not only for the animation (and pleeeeaaase we need the good animation for our boys -///- ) but also for the story. I hope this series will get Justice for any poor writing or plot holes, and will get the spotlight one final time.

Using James Heller as a character is okay however, when the new James Heller who had his abilities for less than a year compared to Alex having his for a long time is not true to the franchise. I get killing Alex Mercer to an extent could help the franchise however the fact new guy James Heller killed a full power Alex Mercer is rediculous. They should have Heller inject the super cancer from the first game into Mercer in the second half of the fight to give Heller a chance. I personally and alot of people prefer Alex to James.
From my research, Activision has secretly to make this series dying by cut off half of Radical Entertainment’s employees, including peoples that has participated on Prototype 1’s development. (Not all of them but a lot) Since they think investing resources for Prototype is kinda not good for profit (Wow what an lame reason here for me) Next, we have the other half of the Radical Entertainment had to go sweaty mode on making P2, making this game good at gameplay and graphic but super suck story writing. Prototype 2 was being the best selling game while the game industry was having some problems of selling back then (that’s what I recalled) But being the best selling game still not enough for Activision, then they decided to shut down Radical Entertainment. Plus the developers can’t widen broadcast a.k.a make it available to other countries imo, and those OGs or players that played Prototype 1 was so disappointed about the suck a*s story writing, by making Alex villianous and the Player killing him. I noticed Alex got taller and his powers got beefed up in appearance as well as his super ability to "Zip Dash" rather than sprinting.

@@MrLim-wq2gn Alex Mercer is the best part of the franchise. Using James Heller as a character is okay however, when the new James Heller who had his abilities for less than a year compared to Alex having his for a long time is not true to the franchise. I get killing Alex Mercer to an extent could help the franchise however the fact new guy James Heller killed a full power Alex Mercer is rediculous. They should have Heller inject the super cancer from the first game into Mercer in the second half of the fight to give Heller a chance. I personally and alot of people prefer Alex to James.
From my research, Activision has secretly to make this series dying by cut off half of Radical Entertainment’s employees, including peoples that has participated on Prototype 1’s development. (Not all of them but a lot)
Since they think investing resources for Prototype is kinda not good for profit (Wow what an lame reason here for me)
Next, we have the other half of the Radical Entertainment had to go sweaty mode on making P2, making this game good at gameplay and graphic but super suck story writing.
Prototype 2 was being the best selling game while the game industry was having some problems of selling back then (that’s what I recalled)
But being the best selling game still not enough for Activision, then they decided to shut down Radical Entertainment.
Plus the developers can’t widen broadcast a.k.a make it available to other countries imo, and those OGs or players that played Prototype 1 was so disappointed about the suck a*s story writing, by making Alex villianous and the Player killing him.
That’s all I can find here, If there is some mistakes or error I’ll fix it

Wait shouldn't mercer be able to come back because just like the nuke that killed him in the first one a crow consumed him and mercer came back to life and basically he could come back because Heller consumed him and Alex was the leader of the infection so therefore he can comeback
