It's because it has personality to it. Whether they're good, bad, or despicable, they're all people, and they have their traits and quirks, like the "brah" guy
This is something Prototype 2 did miles better than the first. Much more endearing and entertaining dialogue that doesn't just drip edge. Even though the persistent need for characters to somehow include the word "fuck" into every single sentence gets a little obnoxious.

I really love James Heller’s dialogue. The one-liners and shit talking that he uses towards his foes are literally the most funniest moments from his character throughout the game.
You skipped the first part where he didn't log off so they immediately started piling up troops and tanks outside the lab not even knowing that it's heller, just because the scientist didn't log off

Okay, when a game can turn an absolutely disturbing and frightening moment of Heller eating another human being into a moment of comedy, you know it's an amazing game. And believe me, every time I heard a Gentek or Blackwatch asshole puke their guts out after seeing me consume some big-wig science freak or officer, I laughed my ass off. Wish there was a third game, but I guess we won't get one. My one hope is we get a next gen remake of these games.

There are some key differences IIRC, like Heller being able to jump waaaaay higher than Mercer.
