    Lovely car indeed. Kind of a shame they stopped making the petrol V6. I'm considering picking up a slightly older one just because I don't want a diesel and I don't want a 4 cylinder!

    Anyone know any place that will fit a supercharger onto this engine?

    engine noise was a bit disappointing, and my BMW 320d is quicker 0-60. I think the diesel V6 is the only answer.

      ursulean vasile I'm pretty sure. I think the BMW is 7.5ish 0-60

      you compare 3.0 v6 petrol with 2.0 diesel??? ok, i can understand now that you are a fan bmw but... come on!!! do some studies about this engines pls

    • @DaveWuzHere
      @DaveWuzHere 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 0-60 is within half a second of each other and the torque on the diesel is nearly 30% more. This is without even mentioning the mpg...
      I'm actually a bigger Jag fan than BMW, I just want the 3.0 diesel instead of the petrol.

      It is when you consider it's a 3.0 V6 petrol. I've got the 2.2 turbo diesel and that's only half a second slower than the petrol.
      The only benefit of having the petrol is a better rev range and a nicer exhaust note. But for that you pay double the tax and put up with double the thirst.
      3.0 turbo diesel is the best all-rounder in the XF. 270bhp and you can always remap if you want a little more.

      @@TheWhiskeyMan-rk7qv I know what you mean, raod tax is a total rip off. I'm wondering which of the two to go for though as I do a lot of short journies.

      @@severnsea .. I do mostly short journeys and I've owned my 2.2 diesel XF for 2 years now. Never had any problems with it as I always make sure to give it a proper run at least once a fortnight. I'd also use premium fuel too. Never buy that supermarket shit as I hear it's so bad that people are trying to sue them for it damaging their cars.

      @@TheWhiskeyMan-rk7qv Thanks, that's good advice. I always use Shell VPower in the Volvo s60 (2.4 petrol) I have and although it's a bit dearer it runs noticeably better and it still drives like new after 19 years.
