Just ordered this scope today for one of my precision 22 rifles. I have been looking at them for a couple of months but couldn't figure out if I wanted to try one and today I made the purchase.
omg its nice seeing you with real rifles... Dude Centerfire is where its at. 1000 dollar plus rimfire is NUTS. STOP>>>>>>> great review on my new scope.. lol. Hey just messing with you. Mad skills on the rims. Keep up the hard work brother.
Cool to see someone else shooting .223 long range. I don't have any bolt guns in .223, but I have gotten my all mil-spec non free floated budget AR out to 500 5/5 with only 55gr factory loaded practice pills. Same with 7.62x39. My .25-06 doesn't like PPU at all, but have heard some rifles shoot it really well...
Excellent review. Good commentary, sound quality, great filming. Thanks. I ordered one off Amazon earlier today after seeing lesser videos. Then saw this. Wish I had seen your video first. I would have used your link. But thank you. Subscribed (at least lol). Edit: They have some left and they have discounted them 15% also from the $299 price if anyone wants to get one while they have them.
i know this is a 9mo old video, but i just ordered a Savage 110 with a very similar setup, what height rings did you use? i haven't ordered the rings yet, and your setup looks ideal.
Thanks. It looks very similar to the Discovery PRS in build, imagine it has the same turret erector assembly, so turret feel and tracking should be identical?
Actually, I would only say they feel similar, I think there's a tangible difference, but that may be because the ED model has such a large housing. The scopes are not too similar, there are some pretty big differences overall
Is the glass good enough to shoot on 30 power? I don't shoot very far, (300 to 400 yards max) but the targets I do shoot at are small enough for me to make use of the full 30 power.
@@rdsii64My buddy took my ED 5-25x to a police sniper course and hit targets at 1200 yards. Ive shot out to 810 fairly easily with good ammo. They make quality scopes, but their ED versions are worth the extra $ imo. the 5-25x ED uses Japanese glass
Im currently reviewing their HD version and have reviewed 2 ED versions. Their ED versions are nicer, but I think you get a solid scope at each price range. HD is light too, I believe. My favorite to date is their ED 5-25x.
they do multiple upgrades to their Gen 2 based on reviewer and user feedback. Gen 2 is better than Gen 1 imo. ED glass is very nice glass that is made in Japan, I believe. At least the 5-25x ED uses Japanese ED glass. ED is better than their HD, but the HD is still very clear.

Nice man, yes with a decent AR you can still shoot pretty far if the ammo is up for it. I enjoy the challenge
@@GTMGunTotinMinnesotanbro this( Discovery HD GEN2 .5-30×56 FFP scope work well on ak 47 caliber rifle 7-62×39 .
Are those the scope rings that come with the optic?
no

Highs worked from sunwayfoto
@@GTMGunTotinMinnesotan thank you!!!
Is that a low profile mount you are using sir?
Excellent shooting! How would you compare this to the Discovery ED 5-25?
Both feel very similar but the 5 to 25 has probably a better image

Not really
@@GTMGunTotinMinnesotan Would I be able to use the 5-25x56 gen 2 on 25 power?

I have this one and I can't find a Throw lever that will fit over the large magnification ring.
Would be interesting to compare this to their PRS model.
Yes, that would be great! question is, is the ED PRS worth the extra cash!?!
Yes

Can some one explain the difference between gen2 and gen1 discovery scope other than turrets? Also are ED or gen2 better?

Can you compare the atibal stealth and the that. To me there the same
This is a gen 2, so it's an improvement on the stealth gen 1.
