    This video needs to be seen by WAY MORE people that are building courses!!!! And, I assume, it could even be used outside. Really great info!

    Killer build and great video. In my testing wet application did not fair well over time with out a thickness of at least .25 inches. I found a dry mix to hold up longer. But I also sculpt the concrete so I need a thicker coat. Just like you said, thicker the better on areas that will get a lot of traffic.
    You can apply multiple layers over one another even when dry, but you need to apply bonding agent to the dry concrete and mix some it in to you’er new batch.
    Concrete die is awesome but don’t be afraid to go back in with acrylic paint to add highlights, wash’s, splatters, and dry brush effects to really make it pop.

      Yeah absolutely pal you can use aggregate in the cement to make it thinker but that will need to be measured out to insure it doesn't go crumbly hence using neat cement is a much easier application for people to use.
      Many thanks for your input 👍

    This is one idea I was also surprised more of the guys who used spray foam to make their tracks didnt do this as well. Its like the way to make a scale course. :) This is totally what Ive been wanting to do for a long time now. Concrete with some chicken grit and a polymer added for water proofing so you can make streams/mini rivers, ponds/bogs all that goodness that comes with it. The chicken grit adds some awesome texture to whats an already pretty rad surface to crawl on. Could even make sections like mini valleys with water flowing down, fast or slow for added difficulty. Oh so many Ideas... :)
    Have you seen Texoma Rc, hes done a mini mountain in his backyard out of concrete, very kewl.

    • @REACTIVETERRAINRC
      @REACTIVETERRAINRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah doing it this way makes it almost limitless. And yeah I've Texoma mountain it's well cool. And just an insight we have a new build starting in the spring. And let's just say it has water in it 👍

      @@REACTIVETERRAINRC One other thing Ive been mulling over is the use of Kinetic Sand. The stuff is crazy interesting and I think it might just make a kewl type of surface to roll over.

    Just finished watching and again BRILLIANT !!! So much better than plaster and cloth or drywall compound!
    ???: Have you a way to smooth out the brush lines? Could one go back with a rubber glove, once the crete has parcially set and gently smooth them down? Be nice to have both rough rock and glacial/ weather smoothed bed rock.
    Thanks a lot!!! I'm gonna post a link to your vid on other channels I watch so guys can see the good results you're getting!

    • @REACTIVETERRAINRC
      @REACTIVETERRAINRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Once is parcially set you can use a wet sponge to smooth off.

    like and sub here.... man just got in to the crawlers with the axial ax24/sc1? first rc for me was the ecx 1/16 ruckus rtr. cool little thing but the steering servo is crap... still trying to find a good heavy duty replacement so i can bring it back from the dead. then i got the armma bigrock blx... been throwing a bit of monies at that between repairs and converting to 17mm hex, still running the factory esc and motor luckily, its been lots of fun!
    anyways first vid of yours iv scene and iv realized iv been overthinking this whole thing as far as a mini course build goes. really digging what i see in your ...play pit? iv ben collecting foam and scrap skid wood from work trying to save the money for repairs and a few upgrades down the line. and so far i think this might be the most cost effective way iv scene to do terrain building/ texture. never been in to diorama building myself and watching some of these video's on the web i just cant help but think of the cost.... guess im a cheep a** when it come to some things.
    but yea man i hope to see more from your channel! ill definitely be showing this to my buddy as we have been slowly binding a mini course.

    Does the concrete add a ton of weight? Reason I'm asking is I want to do my next course modular in 4ft sections.

    • @REACTIVETERRAINRC
      @REACTIVETERRAINRC  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No it's just cement and water no sand added. And you do three to four thin layers with a brush. 👍
