I’m a pretty poor fisherman, but a pretty good sailor, so I’ll share what I’m good at: Heave To Want to filet a fish without rolling? Heave to. Want to transfer diesel from a jerry can to the diesel tanks? Heave to. Cut yourself and need the boat to tend to herself while both of you are doctoring or being doctored? Heave to. Or how about this one… it’s been blowing 30kts for the last day and a half and you’d really like to poop without being thrown off the head!?!? Yeah, you guessed it… heave to! Fair winds and I’m glad to see you back posting, lovely show you have shared with the world!
This energised us! It was fantastic to see your journey into spearfishing and living off the sea. We are planning to do this very soon, and your film inspired us to stick to the path 😊 Thank you 🙏
Great video!! Thank you for sharing this with us. Looking forward to seeing your next challenge. We’re currently in the Bahamas - where did you get your Hawaiian sling from? Also, if you don’t mind sharing this, what where some of your best spots to spear? 🐟
Thanks Manu and Max :) Awesome that you're currently in the Bahamas! To begin with we tried basic polespears and slings bought in local shops but it was a struggle for us to catch anything. Will Trubridge in the film was using a Guerrilla Sling made by Headhunter Spearfishing (who are based in Florida), and we ourselves started having success using their Nomad and Predator polespears. It was truly a gamechanger, and I would highly recommend their stuff. Always tricky getting things shipped to the boat while cruising but in this case it's absolutely worth it! www.headhunterspearfishing.com/ In terms of spots it's such a vast area and there's so much to discover of course. If you send us a private message (on something like instagram) I'll tell you about one of our favourite areas
