    I was in Ecuador for a month in 2022. I took 4 days out to travel to Chile. Chile was the high point of the trip. Wonderful landscapes, beautiful and friendly people. It was magical.

      Amazing what can happen to a tourist on their first day in a country, eg my for first day in Pattaya/Thailand, sitting in a table outside cafe having morning coffee & right there on the road 10'/3m away a man on a moto/motorcycle gets run over by a large truck every wheel ran over the man & moto & the truck did not stop, he were alive for the few mins before the Ambulance arrived...does give a person a heads-up as to what can happen on a more regular basis than where they came from!

    Dude, if you do not get to the Andes and to the coast, you are blowing your visit. Valparaiso (called Valpo by locals) area + Temuco/national parks in the Andes are good trips, although Valpo is disappointing because it needs work, like an injection of a billion dollars to retrofit the decaying old city. I guess you are not getting to Patagonia, but that's a trip in itself. I landed in Temuco and of course knew zero Spanish, so I showed a taxi driver a picture of the trees I wanted to see (araucaria auraucana, or monkey puzzle trees, around since BEFORE dinosaurs) and he drove me straight to a lodge in the mountains.The lodge concierge found me a tour off-season (winter) of the trees in the Andes. Spectacular.

    Differences in Spanish spoken our various countries, is no different that the difference between English spoken in Massachusetts or New York or the South or Texas or even the UK and Australia. Even within the same countries there are regional differences, it’s not rocket science or something insurmountable. De nada!

    Hey!, nice of you coming to my country, sadly, after the last Bachelet' presidency, she allowed pretty much anyone to come illegally into our country, so we have now more than 2 million inmigrants in our country, security and safety its at it lowests in years, there's big crime bands into our country and the politics have not been taken into consideration with this leftitst president we have now (boric), we are literally going into a sinkhole with this president and foreign inmigrants just do what they want in here.
    Besides that our country offers a lot to do and see, have a fun time and be safe!, visit Valdivia if you can!, lago ranco or lakes around... frutillar, pretty places to visit besides santiago!

      That statement is false.
      Safety has been deteriorating for the past 15 years, and neither left-wing nor right-wing governments have addressed this problem correctly. Additionally, uncontrolled migration and the lack of opportunities for migrants are contributing factors. However, the problem has its roots in the educational system and inequality. Please, do not spread misinformation.

    there is no such thing as a Chilean "dialect" - it is Spanish. What you have is accent and local slang - like anywhere in the world. Dialects are derivatives of a language not the language itself.

    • @wnorforaneo9821
      @wnorforaneo9821 32 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

      No, Dialect is the way certain people from a region/ territory use a language, so Peruvians speak a Spanish dialect, Ecuadorians another Spanish language, etc. So it is correct to say Chileans speak a dialect too. Most people think dialect means 'language', but it is not what most people think it means.

      Funny to say that NY has more homicide rates than Chile or Santiago. 6 x 100.000 people in NY vs 4 x 100.000 people in Chile.

    I went to Chile in 2009. As a black American guy, I was stared at like an alien everywhere. Back then, there were no Haitian migrants yet so almost no black people existed in Chile. I traveled from Santiago, Valparaiso, Vina del Mar, San Fernando, La Serena. Valle de Elqui, San Pedro de Atacama. I think the whole trip I saw maybe 4 other black people. So we were a very rare site and the stares started to make me very self-conscious everywhere. Maybe it's different now. I also met a very dark and tall black British woman of Ghanaian ancestry who went to Chile and said she didn't like it because of the constant staring that made her uncomfortable. I still had a good time though and think Chile is beautiful and met some nice people.

      yes man, we are used to black people now because theres been a flood of venezuelans, colombians and dominicans so it is normal to see them everywhere.

    Increíble la hayas pasado muy bien. Y que bueno no te intentaron quitar el celular jeje. Ultimamente el pais a tenido un leve aumento de la delincuencia por culpa del gobierno actual. Pero en fin sigue pasandola bien. Saludos.
