  • Glen and his wife have been wrapped up renovating their house; she’s made all the decisions until now and wants Glen to take over the dining room. With no clue what to do, Glenn asks Sarah Richardson and The Design Inc Team for help. So, he was right. The slipcovers were not meant to be washed. Who doesn't preshrunk slipcover fabric! Chartreuse?

Though I've seen this before, I *still* sympathize with Kate, and the struggles she had (!!). I crack up at all the comments "that's a bossy rug!😝"... which it was really, but it was important to the client & the team made it work. Glen was such a good sport, imho. I also think it's so fantastic, hat you could have the SAME DESIGNS TODAY and they'd still look elegant, classic, warm... kudos to Design Inc. as always, and HUGE kudos to Abode as always for these Sunday treats!🤩

I saw this episode while in University as a re-run fall 11" term. I thought that Natalie was the designer and the slipcover issue is what I have always remembered. That being said, I did not care for the finished outcome as a whole. Things I liked but nothing I loved. Also, was I the only one who felt the custom ottoman was much too large for the space? Oh that rug! I digress.

This was an odd episode to me. At one point, Sarah has on a red and cream Indian print blouse with denims-kind of like the colors in the LR, rug, and on the china. Why was the rug such a stumbling block?? Since they wound up “redoing” the LR, why didn’t they get a new rug for there and use the red rug in the DR? Would look great with the deep blue walls. Yes, that ottoman is large, but my main criticism of it is that the most minute touch of that color was pulled from the rug, so it doesn’t seem to work that well. In fact, the LR looks best at an angle when you see everything BUT the rug. And then, in the DR, the beige, stripes on the chairs, curtains-they work with one another but don’t seem to work well with the walls. Ordinarily, I love Sarah’s rooms, but this was quite puzzling.

I really like her and her team. These episodes are really old so I don’t mind the long ago design which are clearly are outdated. Besides that there is always something I see in all interior designs that I don’t like. Maybe it’s the fact that designers have to deliver something really special for the charged money to be always a bit „over“. Don’t know how to describe. I often miss kind of laid-back setup. It looks all so „done“. The team is great anyway! 👍🏻

New to me!! Love seeing the never seen before. I am not sure I agree with Sarah on dinning rooms being 'rich and moody'. Dark is dark and I do not care for eating in a cave. We would need to see this room at night to know for sure. #1 issue I have is she did not give him the leather chair. How impossible would it have been to come up with captains chairs in a rich buttery leather? And as she ususally will say 'they can be used for extra seating in the living room when entertaining.... The premise was ALL the rest of the home was already rennovated. Does that mean the living room or not?

ok so I am SO over all the stripes in every single room they do! Besides being out of style, it's old fashion...and I'm 64 years old and I think its old fashioned so why are striped fabrics and wallpapers still being used? I can see it in heritage homes; after all they're done in the old traditional styles, but for a family it just looks....old and fuddy-duddy. Too much like grandmas house. Yuk. Can you tell I don't like this room? Glad I'm not his wife!

This episode is close to twenty years old and the design was very much on trend at the time. Sarah’s work has morphed well with the changes in home decor and you may be interested to see some of her more recent projects over on her own YT channel. Just search her name and it should pop up.

@@WBCRO I have watched her for at least 20 years including ALL of her newer shows, and my comment stands. She still uses too much striped fabric and wallpapers in my opinion. Even in her latest chalet rental, she used striped carpets and window coverings, striped material on pillows and throws. She says herself that the stripe is her signature along with blues and greens.
