      Hi Ben! Gret content! I'm just wondering what's included in the customer list you uploaded to create a lookalike ad? Are those only the personal details of the existing customers? Does the spreadsheet have a specific layout that needs to be followed?

    Or you can target 'Facebook page admins', that way you're sure your audience is part of managing a business. Or, my fav, 'small business owners'. Or match the domain they are working in. These generally work for me. Cheers!

      Surely this demographic is mainly hobbyists and social media managers, CEO's & HR managers aren't usually running Facebook groups

    Hey Ben! Really nice video, the tips were awesome!
    My family has a fashion jewelry factory and we wholesale the products to clothing and accessories stores here in Brazil. I am trying to reach new “standard” clients but another strategy we are implementing is to reach a new segment of customers which are autonomous sellers who buy wholesale and resell the products to family, friends and coworkers at their main jobs. I don’t know if this is a thing in your country, but if you have any ideas on how to target these people, that would be great! Thanks a lot and keep up the good work!

    Dear Ben, your video is very clear and easy to understand! I would like to mention that the background you use is quite distracting. I had to make effort to keep my attention on you because of it. I hope you find value in my comment :)
    Thanks for the video!

    Thanks a lot for the video. Could you please give a tip on whether it is possible to target specific groups on FB and specific names of companies? I would be really grateful for the answer.

    Hi Ben, thank you for information. just wondering when you are creating customer list should it be necessarily from a specific geographical location which we are going to target or can we just use all the customers from every where and target a specific location?

    Ben, if you add a list with Business Type, Business Name would that target those business types if that info is listed on FB?

  • @azfar-haider

    Hi Ben, really helpful thanks. In another video for CBO structure you said to target just one interest per ad-set but in this video you suggest finding multiple interests in one ad-set for the lawyers example. Or does it depend on whether you want to isolate and test specific interests? Tks

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Azfar. I prefer to use one interest per ad set and will do so 90%+ of the time. Sometimes each interest will be too small to run by itself and that's when I will combine them.

    Thank you! Along with the strategy of adding the interests you mentioned in the video, would you recommend selecting 'Narrow Audience' and adding behaviors like small business owners or business page admins?

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not usually - unless your starting audience size is very large.

    Would it be possible to combine a customer list (imported) with "detailed targeting" variables? Similarly, in Google, can we combine a customer list with criteria such as affinities and in-markets? Thanks Ben, great work!

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can but unless you have a massive customer list I wouldn't recommend. In Facebook it operates as an AND function and will narrow your audience significantly.

  • @matrixlaw3017

    While I appreciate the effort ben, but this is not useful at all. In B2B targeting, the data which contains the list of clients only has official email ID's. I say this as a founder of a law firm myself. Therefore creating a lookalike audience of a list that has official email IDs will not help at all since facebook will not have any data to work with. I think you are better off advertising by selecting better targeting options, that's the only way of doing it on facebook. In all honestly, I don't think facebook is useful for B2B targeting at all, let's face it.

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks for sharing but I don't think all of your assumptions are correct here. You are right that Facebook's match rate with B2B lists is less than B2C lists. That's because less people have their business email associated with their Facebook account. But some people do have their business email associated with their Facebook account and that percentage of people is increasing and more businesses are now marketing on Facebook and using Business Manager accounts (which many will set up under their business email).
      You don't need to match a lot of people when uploading a list to use as a custom audience to create a lookalike audience, for it to be very effective. We've got a whole bunch of B2B companies on our books that we're using this strategy for and it is working very well (including my own agency, which offers B2B services).
      B2B is harder on Facebook than B2C. But that doesn't it can't be done very effectively.

    Why are you showing lookalike?
    Does this make any sense?
    I was here to get starting ideas, most of the people will be too.

    Is it possible to target to business owner with companies over 50 employees? What would you recommend me doing?

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not like you can on LinkedIn I'm afraid. A lookalike based on a list with those people would be your best bet I think.

    What if I dont even have one client yet?

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dimitar, everyone starts with 0 clients :)
      In that case you won't be able to create a lookalike audience based on previous customers. You will have to use the other techniques covered in this video such as targeting people interested in governing bodies and publications to do with your target industry.

  • @dexterstevens6397
    @dexterstevens6397 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Doesn't this only work if you have the client's personal email used for Facebook?

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dexter, you can also add someone if you are a friend of theirs on Facebook.
      But you wouldn't usually add your client to your business manager. You would add their Facebook ad account, pages, etc. You don't need to be friends with them or have their personal details to request access to those assets.
