    Referring to your method of laying out the parts in order of disassembly and then reversing that to re-install the parts. My Dad was a very good auto mechanic. And one time he told me he had rebuilt a bad transmission and it worked when he got it done. I said, "I didn't know you knew how to work on automatic transmissions". He said, " I don't ". " I just laid everything out in the order I took it out, got a kit and re-installed everything the way it came out, and when I finished it worked".

    These Isuzu fix videos are the best. Can not wait for you to fix and replace every part on your trooper so in-depth thank you.

    Can't thank you enough for doing this video! I was able to make sure I had all the necessary tools ahead of time to make the wheel bearing replacement a smooth process.

    I am really impressed that you are a chiropractor who likes working on vehicles. I have often thought if I needed surgery, I would like for my surgeon to work on cars or something requiring manual dexterity for a hobby.

    Great job on this--you make some good suggestions (clean parts, layout parts, study how they fit/function, use the proper tool).

      Tracy Barker thanks so much man. I think it’s my best vids yet. I continue to try to improve my craft. It’s a lot more than people realize. Lights, sound, editing, two camera angles. I enjoy it greatly. Thanks for being part of it all. And thanks for watching. Soon we have the entire dash removal to fix the heater core. Many little jobs in the mean time. Thanks again!

    Too funny. At around 7:00 ‘I’m a chiropractor’ then at 7:20 proceeds to try and use a Johnny bar at full extension beset over like a pretzel. My back was screaming ‘NO,NO’ as you reefed on the bar….

    Excellent video, shows everything you need to change bearings and disks.
    Those tone ring studs were ridiculously tight, surely a few lbs of torque would be plenty..
    Cheers, Nigel in Ireland.

    Hello! Your video was really helpful and cristal clear!! , my wife's car, a Dmax, got 5 bolts or studs damaged. I don't know how this happened and i needed to repair it by myself because we obviously can't move the car. Anyway, thank you very much for your awesome video, sorry for the bad english, i'm trying my best to learn it by myself, hugs from Chile!

    love your channel. what a great contribution to the isuzu community! I think my driver's side front is needing a new wheel bearing. With 230,000 miles, i'm thinking they do for sure!

      Cody Shell thanks for saying that. Glad to have you here! This will give you a step by step. Not a bad job. I think I put a little too much grease. Alll good. Let me let me know if you have any questions with it when you get started.
      Thanks for watching!

    I found those screws at ACE Hardware. Those are Japanese Phillips and a JIS screwdriver is made to fit those screws better than an American Phillips, although an American Phillips will work.

    Aw man, I stripped those little screws in the summer. Messed with it for an hour, said fuck it rotors aren't THAT bad, and put it all back together. Going to give it another shot after seeing this and knowing I can order the replacements ahead of time.

      Preston Thompson dude I ordered a bag of them. I’ll send you some
      Send me a self addressed stamped envelope and I’ll throw you some in there for nothing
      And they are star head stainless and will never strip again!! 👍

    You mentioned a manual a few times. I own a 2002 Trooper and I cannot find a repair manual anywhere. Could you tell me where you got yours? Also, I was planning to change the rotors and brake pads on my Trooper today. The back was easy but when I got the front wheels off and looked at the rotor I knew I was up against something unique. I plan to do what you did and replace the bearings while I have the hubs and rotors off. Thanks for the video, super helpful.

    Do you have a parts list at all? Not sure which Wheel seal to get. Rock auto shows there is a front inner and also rear inner? I didn't see any "front inner seal" installed. THANKS 👍

      I think it’s just the outer but can’t remember for sure

    Hello Sir. . . I'm a new subscriber to your channel, and am very impressed so far. I'm going to be doing all this and more to my Isuzu Rodeo Denver in the summer, and that's how I came across your videos. I was wondering though, what is the ratchet u use at around 34 minutes on this video? It's the one u call Mr Half Inch. Its soooooooo pretty. Lol.

    For those stubborn bolts on the caliper bracket use an impact tool.

  • @jhc822
    @jhc822 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Bearings looks good , could have just put fresh grease , tightened the bearing and good for another 50000 miles .
    The 3 screw plate with multiple holes is for this purpose, if there's play in bearing undo screws and tighten to next hole , job done .

  • @PrestonThompson
    @PrestonThompson 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    What's the advantage of manual hubs/Automatic? I'm looking at doing this entire job in the spring, I've replaced 3/4 calipers so far, rotors and last caliper are left. Mind as well do all of this while I'm at it.

    • @ktcgarage8572
      @ktcgarage8572  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Preston Thompson the manual hubs only turn the wheel in 2x. Right now your whole front axle turns even in two wheel drive for nothing
      Manual hubs just turn the wheel on the bearing and the axle is at rest
      Better gas mileage and less wear and tear on your whole system

    • @ktcgarage8572
      @ktcgarage8572  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Preston Thompson another words of you jacked up your truck and spin the front wheel the axle will be turning and the front diff will be spinning
      With manual hubs the wheel just spins on the center bearing and the axle is disconnected
      When you get to the off-road place you are going you can get out and lock them in 4x4 and you will have. Exactly what you have now the axle will be mated to the front wheel again.
      Great idea
      Classic city can show you where to get those too

      @@ktcgarage8572 I assume this will effect/disable the TOD System on the 1999? I saw you've got the Manual transmission, sadly I've got the automatic. I do kind of enjoy the TOD and its been a beast in the snow in my hilly part of Philly, so Idk if I'm willing to lose how easy it is to do on the fly while driving.
      My gas mileage is awful tho so maybe!

    • @ktcgarage8572
      @ktcgarage8572  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Preston Thompson no man. All of that stays exactly the same
      The only change is the wheel is unlocked from the hub temporarily
      If you were to hit the 4x4 button the axle would just spin in the hub because it would be connected to the wheel anymore
      The regular system stays same

    Those 3 little soft screws, they are Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) screws (not Phillips), if you have a Japanese car, get a JIS screwdriver and your won't strip them next time.

  • @WorkableWax
    @WorkableWax 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    have u ever had to take those lug nuts out? my rodeo all 6 on each wheel are stripped, big job i know, would u just remove that abs ring an go to town knocking them out?

    • @ktcgarage8572
      @ktcgarage8572  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      WorkableWax yes if the are stripped you may have to knock them out, that is assuming you mean the studs are stripped. If the wheel is still on you may have to cut them off with a cut off wheel and then knock them out and replace them. It isn’t hard to do once you get the wheel off. Why don’t you follow us on Instagram and send us some pictures. We have a great group of Isuzu guys on there and we can all help out. We are always posting and sharing ideas on there. Best of luck and I will help any way I can. Glad to have you on the channel and thanks for watching.
