Wow what a difficult job that was , I would have been lost on that one in trying to attempt the repair . I still would not want to repair that but if I had to I would now have an idea of how to do it . We all know who the most popular guy is in your neighborhood and it is "That Fix It Guy" ! Thumbs UP to you Brian . Everybody remember our upcoming Memorial day and please pay respect to our fallen Military .
Thank you Richard! That is what this weekend is all about! I’m so thankful for all the people that have served and the people that continue to serve. Yeah it is nice to know a trades man or just a very handy man. I always appreciate your comments. Thanks again.
Awesome video Brian you are truly a great neighbor. I just want to say thank you to you and all the other Veterans for your service to our Country, hope you have a great weekend 👍
Wow. That was amazing job. I been that kind of situation (tight space) many times. I can feel your feelings while putting MJ rupper coupling. I really enjoyed your video. Thank you
we had a similar repair done in our garage and the no hub coupler looks crooked. Meaning the pipe don't look in line with each other. Wondering if we should ask the plumber to come back and straightened it.
Always a good idea to deburr the edges and clean the joints before gluing. The bevel edge on that pipe look to be a little rough that could possibly screw up the rubber seal.
Well, you got it done, but there were several things you could have done to make it easier on yourself and quicker to get done. Also, there are two different torques specified for No Hub - 60 inch-pounds and 80 inch-pounds. It all depends on the application.
duck butter -- or just wipe some solder paste on the doughnut , and duck butter or solder paste on the abs pipe it would have saved you from beating it with that 2x4
I refill small spray bottles with MMO (Marvel Mystery Oil). Generally safe for rubber. But the dish soap is a tried and true alternative. Works well for setting the bead on car tires also.
I got your 500 ! LOL thumb anyway. My problem is a horizontal 3" pipe running across my kitchen ceiling with a SWEEPING T running upstairs to the bath - Toilet and two sinks. the other part of the T that is horizontal in the kitchen ceiling runs back to the wash machine drain. the LEFT side of the T is is the further most one so all the water from all those sources run to the guest bath with a t there and out to the sewer in the street . The person that installed this when the house was built went light on the glue on that left side joint and it's leaking now . there is a metal pipe band tape that was around it all and that is loose so I am guessing an earthquake we had a while back settled something or maybe all the guests or combo of both, put the pressure on that top sweep t, I originally thought ( last night ) that the toilet seal was bad and I removed it and put a better than wax on it. the wax was NEWLY SMOOSHED TO THE MAX _ suspecting the heavyweight guests compressed it all more than normal pushing down on the straight pipe that goes directly to the sweeping T and it wiggled what little glue was on that coupling loose creating this FKIN HORROR SHOW in my Kitchen! LOL seriously, it;s gnasty. I have several solutions here now after running to lowes and home depot - and the liquor store. :0)

Good job brother. Your awesome for taking care of your neighbor. That’s a true testament of love thy neighbor
Thank you Steve! That is what it’s all about bro! Sharing caring and loving and helping!
What I really appreciate is seeing the struggle. It’s helpful. Thank you.
Can confirm, Canada uses Yellow cement. What a job lol. You sir are a good neighbour.
Who are all of the people praising you for this very simple job?
You're an awesome neighbor, GOD BLESS!
I try to be the best neighbor I can. I love my street and all the people on it.
If you lubricate the coupling and place the coupling on the top of the new section of pipe, it would be much easier to make the connection...... IMO
wow dude.....that was great. Nice to see someone lending his talents for a neighbor.
Always! That is what it is about! Have a great day! Please keep watching I love helping as much as I can
You're pretty knowledgeable man. Thanks for sharing.
Your welcome. Helping and sharing is what it is all about!
16:58 “Maybe I should have no-hubbed both sides ” 😂 I have that moment with every project
You should always mark the depth on the pipes so you know when you are completely inserted.
Thanks for the tips Brian! Love thy neighbor!
Your welcome! Thank you for watching. I always enjoy helping where I can.
Um profissional na verdadeira aceção da palavra. Grande trabalho.
Glad you didn’t lose your mind!😂 There would have been a whole lot of edits if I did this!😂

Question: Can rubber donuts be used in horizontal applications ??
yes they can.
I have to subscribe on the sheer fact of what a difficult task this was. Thank you for sharing.

I will try that next time I run into this cause really soap works but not as great as I would like it to sometimes. Thank you

Excellent video!!!
I always put the donut on the pipe then in the hub. it makes it a lot easier.
I have not had good luck with doing it that way. This is so much easier for me. I think a comparison video may be in my future. Thank yiu
Thaks so much for that exelent instructions
Thank you so much…. Great video
Your welcome. Thanks for watching.
Good job, Congrats Sir
Thank you.
Thanks
Your welcome. Hope we can help again.
Great job, great video
Dude I felt your aches on this one. I'll bet you were sore for a few days. Good job though, your a good neighbor.
Yeah it was a ruff one. And your right sore for days.
thanks - gave me some confidence that my fix will be good enough (I had a similar situation but much simpler of just having two abs pipes to couple
Right on. You got this man.
I love how weveryone say to turn it a quarter turn and then rarely even turn it 1/8th turn.
The is good job and good And you are a good neighbor
Thank you! It is all about helping each other out!
Instal a clean out tee instead of a couplin

Sorry for my late question, but couldn't you have used another ABS coupling at the top of the ABS pipe instead of a Fernco coupling?
He should have to make it permanent is that not the place it was leaking before ? I know code her would never let you get away with that lol
Boo-Yah, Job done with Quality!👍🇺🇸
Thank you Bro! Trying to do something good in the neighborhood!
those donuts come in a couple different choices e.g. sv or xh depends what weigh / thickness of the ci look on the hubs its stamped
Those donuts are hard to come by
Why didn’t you use a slip coupling? You wouldn’t have had to fight it every step of the way.
Use a mission coup easier slide it right on
Now I who not to call for plumbing work
Be sure and apply the glue clockwise if you apply it counter clockwise you will unglue it. 😅
Put lube on the tieseal n slide the pipe in
15:07 Neighbor in the other room be like: 🙄🙄🙄🙄
😂
I need to replace my cast iron 😑 but thanks
There’s absolutely no need or reason to pound that down into the rubber hub.
U need a Bigger Hammer ™
What is the proper teacher that I use in my kitchen sink what is the proper size
I don’t understand. Proper teacher? I love auto correct too!
I would never do that for a neighbor unless she were Anna Nicole Smith. Hope your actual neighbor repaid you with a barbecue and a six pack of beer.
👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️👌👌👌
Easiest way is to hire a plumber
It’s a really good job
