My iMac is my first Apple computer. I actually needed some additional more basic things - I didn't know that the yellow pen on the bottom bar is Pages. You undid something but didn't show how you did that. I'm assuming that it was a keyboard command since I didn't see your mouse move to something...
I should have said it out loud! I use keyboard commands without even thinking about it often. To undo, you hold down Command and press Z. Thanks for watching!
I am having trouble with when I am inserting a photo into my Pages document it ends up on lots of pages randomly? what have I done wrong I am a new user of pages and just finding my way. I am doing a family history so will be inserting phots along the way? At first it was ok but I've done something that had botched it up and the above is happening.
Sounds like you are may have dropped the image into the header or the footer, which is a small section at the top or bottom of the page that repeats the content on each page of your document. Hope you were able to figure it out!
I used WordPerfect for a long time but was forced to move over to Word. Pages looks daunting, I don’t understand it. What does it do that Word doesn’t? Nowadays I only type letters, no manuals or anything complex
If you are just typing letters, Pages would be great. It’s quite simple. It does things like newsletters and such, but opening up a basic word processing document and pages will give you the same experience as word perfect.
You can dictate into a document using the built-in dictation features in the Mac. To make sure it’s turned on just go to your system settings, and search dictation to get to the right spot. You can turn it on there and set whatever keyboard combination you want. Good luck! 👍🏼
What version is this? Mine is 14.1. Please don’t think everyone already knows it all. I only wanted basics for a resume. Word processors have been around for a long time so I do have some knowledge. You definitely talk too fast but I know how to slow you down. My biggest issue is that your view is WAY TOO SMALL! Bummer. But thanks anyway.
You make a good point -- I should have included more paragraph formatting. I'll be sure to include that in the next Pages video I do. Thanks for the feedback.
For the past 2+ years Pages worked just fine on my Dell Laptop with W10. Last week it stopped. It opens, I can see the document but then I get the pop up telling me that there’s a problem. Today apple told me it’s all Windows fault. If it worked this long that tells me there is a way. Come on tech gurus help us out here. To have such an elegant and useful program as Pages be a stand alone tool is short sided and assumes Apple is the only player in this game. It’s worked for 2+ years… someone can figure that out.
Wish I could help! I don't know enough about Pages running on Windows to be of any assistance in this situation. I guess I'd recommend verifying that you are signed in to Apple iCloud on that computer so your files are syncing, but there's no way for me to know if that's the actual problem.
U are my go-to tech support channel! I love this video and ur channel keep up the good work!!!🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊
Thanks for the intro - I'm switching from Word.

Is there a dictation feature?

Thanks for this feedback! It helps me as I plan future videos.
You can click on the bottom right of the video and click on full screen. To get out of it, you will hit esc on the top left of your keyboard.
So I wanted paragraph indents. Your text had no paragraphs. Frustrating video.
