Great piece, great performance!
Very touching movement, and beautifully, beautifully played!
Incredible piece! Thank you for posting.
I was loving much more all the solo piano pieces, but still, thanks a lot for this great sonata!! It's a beautiful piece.
GREAT! I enjoy every posting you do, but the piano solo uploads are so special and so rare, they make me wait so eagerly for the next video :)
This would be by British composer Dame Ethyl Smyth (1858-1944). This would be her Sonata for cello and piano in A minor, Op. 5 (1887)
yes u silly
Oh, i will be back to posting solo piano works after a time ;). I will be uploading chamber works now, and later some concertos again.
Had Brahms born feminine he would have written a cello sonata pretty much like this one. Perhaps developing musical textures somehow richer and augmented...

Pietro Landri Bear in mind though that Brahms once told Charles Munch (eventually music director of the Boston Symphony but then a young, touring quartet violist) that it distressed him that everyone played his music as if it were intended to be massive. That was not his intention in composing
