Good day everyone! How's life? I hope you're healthy and perhaps happy as well to welcome July. There are only six months to go for the new year and I thought I lost my hope for this but a good thing happened to me a few weeks ago. It happened in the most unexpected time. It was very in contrast with my initial purpose, but I found a quote that said "Maybe it didn't happen the way you wanted, but the way you needed". So, I will follow it and be genuinely grateful for the miracle that happened to me. Well, as a promise, here is detailed information on how you can visit Lakoat Kujawas.
    1. What is Lakoat Kujawas?
It is a community that is directed by Dicky Senda (a food activist coming from Timor Island). To support the locals, they provide many events one of which is "Tiba-tiba Fatumfaun". The one that I attended. During the class, you will experience how to make fermented pickles, drinks, food, etc. Then, you will be served a delightful lunch which is mostly real food and the ingredients are supplied from the locals' garden. Finally, there will be a discussion, and tour around, and the most interesting part for me is meeting the locals and new friends who have different backgrounds and come far away to attend the event as well.
    2. Where is Lakoat Kujawas?
It's located in North Mollo, Timor Tengah Selatan, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia.
    3. How to book the event and when?
You can check directly on Instagram @lakoat.kujawas and @dicky.senda. Both of the accounts are very active and they update everything there. In my experience, they will post about the event at least a month before it. Of course, there will be a quota. So you have to reserve it as soon as possible. And, there are also many interesting events so you can keep watching their Instagram.
Lately, some of my friends asked on their Instagram. If I am not mistaken the events will only be available during the harvest season which is from January to June. But, I suggest you keep checking their Instagram instead if there's an event that will be held in the other months.
    3. How can you get there if you're living in other cities, provinces, or countries?
Book a flight to Kupang or if you're from another country you can book a flight to Jakarta or other cities and another flight to Kupang.
If you have arrived in Kupang, how can you get there? Well, it will take you to travel for 3 - 4 hours from Kupang to Lakoat Kujawas. However, you don't need to worry because they have their recommended travel agents. So you can only sit in the car peacefully and the driver will drop you off right in front of Lakota Kujawas.
While you travel with the travel agent. They have some options. You can rent a car with other people and it will cost you cheaper. They will pick up every one or strangers who want to go in the same direction along the way. So, please spare more time if you choose this way.
Another option, if you don't have much time you can book the whole car for you or your group and it will be more expensive. A car can be shared with six people.
    4. Is it possible to stay there?
Of course. If you have more time I suggest you stay there for a few days. They usually have many events held days in rows. So, you should participate in all the events. Moreover, you can also visit some natural tourism such as Fatumnasi, Batu Marmer, etc. (it's like Indonesian Swiss, I swear!) in North Mollo during your stay (you can arrange it and make some agreements with the travel agent or the locals).
Where can you stay? When you reserve the events at Lakoat Kujawas. You can ask them about where to stay. They will give detailed information including the driver's number. The first option, you stay at the locals' house or the nearest hotel (but the second option will take you some time to back and forth from your hotel to Lakota Kujawas). , I prefer local' residents because you can interact with them, know them more, and of course, try their food which is simply delicious.
    5. Others?
    - It's far enough so please make sure you're fit enough during the trip
    - Please note that there will be no signals at some of the points
    - Please bring and make the payment during your tip with cash
    - If you plan to visit there I highly suggest staying there a day before the event. The event will start around 9-11, so it will be risky if you start your trip from Kupang early in the morning. I experienced it the last time. Our travel was late and we waited him for hours and couldn't complain because we shared the travel with anyone else
    - For the estimated price it's still affordable. For me in June 2024, it only charged me IDR 350K including an event and the travel agents from Kupang to North Mollo and vice versa
ps: not all the moments are documented in this episode. if something is missing from the information in the video, an apology from me.
    Thank you for watching.
