Raduka my friend I've just finished making the second of your amazing micro crossbows. You have taught me so much about the skills required. All your designs are amazing and provide many hours of fun making them and later extremely fulfilling and enjoyable in the usage. Please upload any new micro crossbow projects that you have done.
My hats off to your patience. Its very traditional. Original muskets were all made by files, lots of files. In those days when one walked through towns the most common sound heard was filing coming from the workshops.
Yeah a grinder and a porta-band would save him a ton of time. I get it if he wants that handmade label when he's finished though. Bottom line the guy is committed to making scale size crossbows that work well and he does a great job!
yeah, I was JUST thinking: well, he's got a bench grinder and a dremel.....why doesn't he use them? lol BUT that small part of the saw blade on the grinder....good way to lose a finger....should have been holding it with a pair of pliers......(specially with the gap between the tool rest and the wheel)
If you'd like a little more detail about why you'd use a hand file for something like this, it's relatively simple. Power tools are much harder to handle safely on such incredibly small work, and can take considerably more skill to get an accurate result that matches the template exactly. Files, while slower, allow you to approach your marked lines more accurately, so you don't have to re-make parts where you've blown right past the line with too much power.
Are all of your videos like this? This is awesome! An entertaining yet informative video that isn't marred by obnoxious background music or excessive talking.
You must have very steady hands and great eye to get all those angles so right. I am especially impressed with the drilling into the nail with what appears to be a hand held drill. I always thought such precision can only be achieved with a lathe.
AWESOME!!!!! When you post the string video please do one on making the arrows. Where did you find the itty bitty birds to get feathers small enough for the fletching? And please, how did you make the points? Could you show how to make tiny broad heads too please, you know, for when we're after bigger game?
I used browntape instead of feathers for the fletching, and I drilled a hole in nail to make that arrowhead , Ill probably make some broadheads too pretty soon
First of all nice work, thanks for sharing ! Just a little tip to do parts like these pulleys: once the raw disk cut, fix a screw in the centerhole, fix it in your drill and hold the drill in your vice. This way, with the rotation of the drill and your files, you have a primitive turning machine that can achieve very consistent results!
I enjoyed watching your good craftsmanship. No need for any music. That was another good reason to love this video. Silence to think and soak it all in.
I marvel at your workmanship. Very nice work. Thank you for the opportunity to experience watching you work and the transformation of the raw materials.
Great workmanship skills. As an old machinist I have to drop my two bits : 1. The two circular pulleys could've turned out much nicer if you'd have whirred them in the drill with some axis and sand paper. 2. You should seriously consider buying (or making) a belt sander. !!!
I can tell your a perfectionist. Some of the things you could have used the bench grinder for. But preferred to hand saw . U know you will get it perfect that way .. amazing watching you create , great job bro... NEW SUB
I dont know how in the hell u did the little trigger mechanism. My God.. you are good with a hand saw . Wow, shit I have hard time with normal size things , micro , you make it look so easy ....
At first I thought, why waste all that time and effort into making small pulleys? I mean they are available everywhere. But then I thought Okay lets just do it all from scratch, then the video made more sense.
When society finally collapses into anarchy I'll be thankful for the lesson this video taught me. Er,...that I should have paid more attention to it as sadly in the dystopic future there is no internet! Amazing work and skillfully made.
I'm sure you have rough enough hands to handle it but I'm cringing at the thought of all that metal dust and shavings. my fingers feel bad already. Love the build though! looks so cool.
true. but not in the us. where everyone wants one. when it comes to shpping. you can make it to where someone has to sign 18 & over has to sign for it. ebay is great for these kind of things. never heard of them being illegal any where. but let me know how much for 3 id gladly pay you through paypal for three of them.
Extra wow. A crossbow in vest pocket size. Really very cool. And even matching arrows. Very good work. Just right for shooting pumpkins, lances or cardboard dummies in the house. Sport shooting in miniature format just .... =) Could you possibly get the complete blueprint (instructions incl. Material list)? Would be really nice .... Thumbs up and greetings from Germany 👍👌😊
Save time:. pulleys can be made from the brass/steel or plastic rollers found atop and bottom edge of sliding screen doors ;). hardware store has replacement wheels, so no need to ruin the ones in use at your home.

Hi Raduka, Great Content! I loved every minute of the video, could you please post a list of the materials that you used and the thickness of the metals if you are not to busy! Kind regards Ethan.
Good vid. I bet the pulleys were a pain in the ass to make like that. + I would have liked to seen the bolt velocity and impact. By the sound and little bit shown it looks like it actually shoots a reasonable speed.
How would that mechanism compare to a compound bow or a bow with no cams what so ever? Not even sure what to call this specific mechanism. All I know is I want to try my hand at making them and I'm curious as to the performance differences between them.
Pretty much, but the only problem is I only have basic tools as you can see and it takes a lot of time to make this one without real tools. If I had proper tools I'd be able to make a few of these per day but this way is a lot slower
Understood, that's why I'd rather just buy it. But this is a fantastic tutorial and I think Imma give it a try, I think the only thing I would need other than the materials is a saw. :D

It's amazing how using simple tools can lead to this ultra fine finish at the end. Makes you value the skill and taste.
Great production. No hamming for the camera, and no unecessary yapping, good show.
As a machinist I have a ton of respect for all the hand work you do! Keep it up!
R Dankers three days of work probly
R Dankers I'm a fabricator and it's almost painful to watch things done with hand tools that could be done so much easier with a grinder haha

I love how you use all the tools I actually own to fabricate this!! I'm going to scale mine up a little for: MORE POWERRRR!! Absolutely fabulous mate!
Being a person who builds things a lot I liked watching the speeded up work. Great video, nice little crossbow. Cheers

This is now on my to-do list
I'll put templates soon to make it even simpler
I seriously love this stuff man. . . My issue is I don't have anywhere close by to snag up some aluminium. I've got the tools, but no aluminium!

Nice job with the crossbow and the video as well. It's obvious that you don't do things half-heartedly. You should be commended as an asset to TH-cam.
if only i could move at these time lapse speeds, i would make that crossbow
Or just take your time ;)

Thank you! :D
This is a really nice project. Thanks for sharing.
Very cool as always. This is pretty cool!
Aw man that was satisfying to watch.
I'm glad you enjoyed !
Kudos bro. As a machinist, I can tell you how difficult it is to make small parts.
Thanks!!
+Like for the sounds
Thanks!
Raduka how much money would you sell me one for I'm for real ! I live in Franklin North Carolina please let me know .
You obviously put a lot of time and skill in this project....I hope you're having fun with the completed crossbow! :D Respect!
Thanks a lot!!

Raduka. TNX man. which wire is that??
What the string is made out of? The string is made out of fishing string.
I saw it in the description.
It's like a tiny inswinger Ballista. I made the largest inswinger Ballista ever built. Cool little crossbow.
How many cups of coffee did you drink to make your hands move so fast? ;)

Very high skill considering the unproper tools for that job. Good work.
I don't know why but I love the sped up sawing sounds LOL
this video is strangely satisfying.

Why did I watch this? I could not make that in a million years.
The safety glasses at the end were a nice touch.
satisfying to watch him shoot an arrow
UneekBlaze
Marvelous.... On my do list. I see trigger is over head centre.. Fantastic
HOW MUCH FOR THAT ONE
Very nice for hand made. You need a DREMEL tool. It would cut you labor time to 1/3 or 1/2 as much. Good job.
Thanks, I got one!
That'll fuck somebody's day up.
The fast forward sawing sound is so satisfying
At first I thought, why waste all that time and effort into making small pulleys? I mean they are available everywhere. But then I thought Okay lets just do it all from scratch, then the video made more sense.

Badass. I love your use of hand tools.
Thank you, I like the door you made!
it's so exciting but 15 min for making but just 30 seconds for using... why?
because it says how to make not how to use
Why not?
What a pleasure it was to see saw teeth getting knocked out like that! Very nice!
Would you like to sell one?because I‘m lazy......
Unfortunately it's not for sale
+Raduka why not Ill give you $50 amazon to send me one, I'll provide the resources
Nova_878 lol $50 isn't nearly enough for the amount of work he put in to making the crossbow. try to atleast offer $200 bucks!
i agree..lots of work. at least 200.
$50+ resources cost should do for me. i'll inform you when mine is done. deal?
Performs better than my more expensive bows.

you should sell these on ebay. id buy everyone you make. im sire alot of other people would too.
I'd like to, but in some countries mini crossbows are banned, so I'm not sure about shipping!

Sell as parts. Then send the manuals to buyer's email. Lol ...
I think you could sell as a kit. Even a savvy person would have a hard time figuring this out if they didnt know in advance what it was.
This was on my recommended list and I decided to peek at it for a while. Ended up watching all of it. It is so goddamn satisfying!
awesome good job
