I have to present in front of my coworkers & higher ups sometimes & I'm always nervous about it, but I get through it. I remind myself that I've done it before, that I'm prepared, & even though the worst case scenario is what makes me anxious I break that down rationally to remind myself that it's not as bad as I make it out to be. So if you wind up in a career where you have to go out of your comfort zone you can still do it as long as you come up with coping mechanisms - don't let that stop you if you really want that career

My husband works in a lab, and they have to eat in the cafeteria because you can't have food in the lab. My office has a break room, but I eat at my desk.
I eat in the break room just because I like the change of scenery. I've had a no-eating-and-working policy since undergrad and it just helps me actually take a break and come back refreshed. Occasionally I end up eating at my desk and it just makes me feel like I need to hurry and get back to work.

He was an ex heroin addict but got himself clean for his family so the HIV was just devastating. My human incubator (bio mum) and her scumbag of a boyfriend would abuse me physically and sexualy. A childminder and my human incubators mum reported them to social services and one day my nanna had me over night and I won't go into detail but after an incident with a lighter and my private parts my nana wouldn't return me to my human incubator so the police arrested her and she spent 6 hours in jail for trying to protect me. I was taken into care at 3.5 years old and when I was about 5 I asked my social worker if I could stop seeing my human incubator as she had supervised visitation but she kept trying to get me to tell them it was my biological dad abusing me which was incredibly distressing and her boyfriend who she later married almost kidnapped me while in foster care. I know it all sounds crazy but I have a copy of my adoption file which honestly is a pretty distressing read. @@californiacupcake8580 I have a Facebook blog that's got some of my story on it. In the bio or page discrption?? can't remember what part. It's badly needing updated and more of my story added. I'm actually in the very beginning process of writing a book so far it's just mapping stuff out. My biological dad died of HIV when I was 4 due to sharing needless. He was an ex heroin addict but got himself clean for his family so the HIV was just devastating. My human incubator (bio mum) and her scumbag of a boyfriend would abuse me physically and sexualy. A childminder and my human incubators mum reported them to social services and one day my nanna had me over night and I won't go into detail but after an incident with a lighter and my private parts my nana wouldn't return me to my human incubator so the police arrested her and she spent 6 hours in jail for trying to protect me. I was taken into care at 3.5 years old and when I was about 5 I asked my social worker if I could stop seeing my human incubator as she had supervised visitation but she kept trying to get me to tell them it was my biological dad abusing me which was incredibly distressing and her boyfriend who she later married almost kidnapped me while in foster care. I know it all sounds crazy but I have a copy of my adoption file which honestly is a pretty distressing read. I'm surprised with everything I've been through I'm not more messed up lol.
