I love it when you say GREASE! Even when you actually use some oil. I grew up long ago (I'm 78) with my mother using white lard, bacon drippings, and Crisco. And butter when we could get it. During WWII we had margarine with the red capsule to pinch and squeeze blend into the package. Margarine could not be sold colored then, so no confusion with much more expensive butter.
When you added the water to make gravy, I myself would have added it slowly bit by bit to blend easier. No big deal. It all blends ultimately with the flour on the meat.
I am one of your dedicated fans and have made a number of your dishes. Always excellent instructions and great outcomes. I've learned a lot about down-home cooking (avoiding chitterlings except for the instructions which are SO interestingly clear) but enjoying some dishes I would not have known about except for you. My latest winner is Breakfast Pizza and the rant! Thank you, Chris, for the time and energy and ingredients for your dishes. Most of us don't feed your army, but you are always careful to cut down the recipes for smaller amounts. Love you. lady!!

GizmoBee1702 I know you are very dedicated. I appreciate that more then you know. You are right adding the liquids slower would have blended faster and easier. When you are teaching a how to video there are a lot of thoughts flowing in your mind. Trying to remember what you really need to say to help people understand. Especially when dealing with beginner cooks. I am grateful for your input.
I love ❤️ how you express interesting facts about things that use to be. The stories you share are amazing. Thank you for your continued support. Always a friend, Chris.

GizmoBee 1702...Did you happen to grow up in Canada...because when I lived there we also had the little button to color the margarine but when we moved to the States it was already colored. Just wondering. I grew up in Hamilton, Ontario.

I'm learning so much from this. In the Caribbean we use coconut milk to make gravies but I never thought of using evaporated milk. It makes total sense. Thank you because now I know what's for dinner tomorrow.

Wow, just the way I remember it. I haven't cooked cube steak in over 15yrs I'll guess. Once the kids got grown I just discontinued them as a meal choice. I think it might be time to revisit this down home meal. Thanks Chris for all your fantastic ideas. You keep it fresh. Just the best Chef on TH-cam. 😊

Craziefor3 I didn't add it. It wasn't needed. There was an added message on the screen in the beginning showing that. However it you still want to add it when you prepare the dish do it when you make the gravy. Also if you watch my video on your phone sometimes the added notations won't be visible. Don't know why.

Kawana Tavares It will be thick because of the flour I had in the measuring cup. The color will be lighter and you can't add as much water as I did.

I haven’t bought any pieces in about 8/9 yrs. I only buy pieces that way I get what I want and like. I do have some sets purchased by others for me. My favorite place to shop for them is Ross, Bed,Bath&Beyond and TJ Maxx because you can pick up quality pieces real cheap. Thank you for watching and Welcome aboard. 🎊🎈🎉🎈

Latrice Wilson For now you must rely on the comments from the many people that have tried my meals. Preparing to record, remembering what to say, explaining it, then cooking it & reviewing before posting. Taste testing gets lost in that process. I would prefer to rest then eat. Sampling good food only makes you want to eat, relax and do nothing, lol.

Turkey is not Red Meat, but cooked in the same pan next to the red meat, they might as well eat the red meat instead of ground turkey saturated with the red meat juices and flavor. Just my thoughts...

I love your videos. One thing I would like to add is: when you make your gravy, make a roux with flour and your drippings and then add water/canned milk instead of just the flour with water, canned milk. The roux will give it a deeper, richer taste. Just my opinion, not criticizing.
