- Life Life and Chase is our first documentary from the 2014 storm chasing season. Highlights include the April 27 Kansas dryline tornadoes, and May 11 (Mother's Day) tornado outbreak and the June 14 nighttime Nebraska tornadoes.
If you're interested in prints, I have them on my web store.

Hi everyone, I would highly recommend you checking out the 2019 version of Live Life and Chase which has taken many of the critiques I have learned over the years to heart, and features Emmy award winning content. Thanks for checking out my first ever attempt at a documentary :)
Expect a 2020 version later this autumn.
Do you think the CoronaVirus pandemic (and subsequent stay-at-home orders) will impact tornado chasing this season?
@@quartzuniverse3763 Likely will for a lot of people, especially tours and international chasers.

Hey guys, old retired Air Traffic Controller from Atlanta here. I also work within my own recording / video studio. Tops on my bucket list is to do exactly what you guys were fortunate enough to do here, storm chase. Frankly, I enjoyed the music, I think it adds to the video, except if you are ever close to the storm, let the storm do the audio work for you. Opinion....GREAT JOB GUYS....good luck to all of you, and maybe you might consider one day being an Air Traffic Controller...your knowledge of weather will help you greatly. Again....great job!!!!
A lot of people commenting about the music, and all I have to say is, I agree. This was put together before I edited longer-format programs. I was actually still in college.
Anyway, I hope you like it anyway? :)
TheNStew yes. I like it anyway.
I'm from xenia Ohio.went through the tornado during the 74 outbreak. been hooked on severe weather since! thanx for such a great video!
This was just absolutely wonderful! You can really tell all of the love and passion you all put into this, and I can honestly say I enjoyed this much more than any Nova documentary. I hope to major in atmospheric science and become a storm chaser very soon so to see people who have done it is so so inspiring! Amazing amazing work
Oh where's the kleenix?
I would have absolutely loved this video, but the music killed it. Seriously, guys, the music has to stop.
They were TRYING to seem professional.
@@susiearviso3032 lets see your storm chasing video, bitch.
Yes, the music must go. Or, mute by 75 %
Come live in Tulsa Oklahoma and you will love our new Warned Tornado sounds. I am a First Responder so I'm used to it, but these new sirens......! It's the old AIR RAID frequency from the days of the Cuban Missle Crisis, the 60's. It sends chills up your spine.
So ... in Tulsa they warn tornadoes' sounds? Like to make the sounds ashamed?
Nice video! The music takes away a lot of the impact though.
I think they were trying too hard.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with a large majority of the commenters. The music is a bit overdone, here. Aside from that, though, it was very informative documentary. Thanks for sharing, guys!
It wasn't a bit overdone. It was crappy. Tell it like it is.
Enjoyed watching, Thanks for posting!
I love storms! I want to become a storm chaser when I am older! It is my dream job!
You can start with becoming a storm spotter for ur local nws office👍🏻👍🏻🌪️
@@nevaehsmiracleconnieelliot2297 I would put I cannot have that option right now, plus our community news does not go over that. But thank you for the advise anyways!
The national weather service is the one that does the Storm spotter class. I hope ur dream comes true.🙂🙏🏻🌪️
Love it! I would love to keep in touch with you on storm days next year, because I am semi-new to chasing, as I've seen a tornado and a few supercells chasing. I love your way of thinking.
Ok guys the video was well done and I enjoyed it. Up till the point you were rooting for a tornado to drop over Joplin. JOPLIN fellas!? Even the tornado knew not to cross into Joplin. Lets pray every tonado after that one does the same. Even one that would only one shingle.
Huh? Even one that would only one shingle?
Yet Joplin was destroyed by a daring tornado....I can't even remember when it happened.

Oh man, love this video. In another live I'd been a meteorology alumni as well. Weather is one of my passions and I've gone in IT just because of my weather hobby. Love, love, love to go out storm chasing one day.
This is a great video!! I enjoyed it. Thanks for the video. Will subscribe to see more. Good luck in your degrees!
Alexi PinkSin Walsh I'm too sexy for this car!
thanks, gentlemen! Stay safe
Its important to remember, while the 80s/90s will live forever , but the music being in style will not. I was just waiting for Mr Belding to be interviewed, then they go to Screech, live actually inside of an ef4 tornado
noahkb80 epic
This is a good doc y’all put together, thumbs up guys. Nice 👍
I think I would have to toss the GO GO GUY out of the window. Kidding ! 😅😂
This would have been SUCH a good video if you're left out the music. Was so hard to listen to an hour and a half of basically the same song. Made my eyes cross, finally.
Great job in both safe chasing and the education style video. Well done.
You have great wit, Nick. Good story teller.
Enjoyed the video thanks for sharing!
Kayla Trunnel Hello gorgeous!
Damn good job boys! Thanks for posting
nice video, I enjoyed it guys. It truly shows the passion we have for Thunderstorms and all wx.
Fantastic video! Thanks so much.
An excellent video indeed guys! Fascinating to watch - I've subscribed! Hello from the UK btw - we get small ass tornados that rarely make it over F0/F1, lived in South Carolina years ago as a kid, so miss the big weather over there!
Great video but I agree music totally detracts from the quality.
These videos are addictive. Great job guys!
Not THIS video.
GREAT JOB ON THE DOC! Good luck with your career for you and your friends. Safe Travels!
I assume that you use premium wiper blades, such as Bosch. Very important tools. 73. W9BAG, member of SKYWARN from Indianapolis.
I live in Michigan and been through my first tornado. No lie it sounded like a freight train. I don't know why anyone in their right mind want to live in tornado alley.
Most complained about the music, which I would prefer not to have it as well, but when you gave up visits with your Mother on Mother's Day I had to stop. You will someday lose your Mother and would give anything to see her again. She can be gone in a flash like mine was, no warning, and you will regret not seeing her. You could always make a visit the day before.
To be fair I saw her for a full week after this chase ha. I was on summer break then. That chase was the Sunday following finals.
Great video really enjoyed it would like to be a storm chaser/farner when I grow up have never really seen any big fans storms but ya never know also did you get to see the Pilger twins on June 16?????
you have the right voice for this video.
How about my voice? You have a problem with MY voice?
I can't understand why chasers drive wimpy vehicles . You should chase in a 4 wheel drive diesel truck . Off road diesel is dirt cheap ,it won't blow away in a stiff breeze ,climb over trees and poles and other debris . Pull big trees off the road for ems
Really enjoyed the vid and your explanation of Supercells and what meteorologist do in the field. Music little much though. Love to know where/what you guys are doing at this point of life? Still as a group chasing storms?
Excellent documentary
incredible video!
Great video! Also @ 10:30 I see GRLevel3 on a tablet-sized display...mannnnnn I need something like that, is that a Windows tablet? Or an external display hooked up to a laptop?
You guys are doing a good job! Keep down your voices a little bit. I'm just trying to let you know whats annoying to some people out there! Is it Nick? that does the driving? GREAT JOB!!! You need one navigator not 3 !!!! You other guys need to quiet down your stressing him out!!! You all are doing a great job! Keep up the good work! Be safe and watch out for other cars!!! Thanks again!😀
"Do not attempt without training " Just how the hell do you get training, except just doing it.
There is no comprehensive training for this. Pretty sure it doesn't involve being chased by the storm though as I see so many doing. Most of these kids are still wet behind the ears. There are old chasers and bold chasers. Not too many old, bold chasers. Want to get training? Get emergency responder training. Become at least a basic EMT. At some point, you're going to need it.
@Ozone There is not comprehensive training for chasing. That is completely false. Storm spotter classes don't even remotely approach the level of training that should be undertaken for storm chasing.
Here's a suggestion guys , dump the music . Eighteen min. was enough for me
Years ago, I experienced a severe thunderstorm with CRAZY LIGHTNING after dark in the Arizona desert. It was FANTASTIC!! No tornado (I don’t think Arizona is known for that) but that was the only time I have experienced lightning like that. As we approached Phoenix, we saw the lightning over Sky Harbor International Airport. Pretty safe to say ATC had ordered a ground stop!! LOL!!
I'd stroll up to a twister buck naked with a bottle of Jack in my hand. I'd say, "Here! Have a drink!" I'd chuck that bottle into the twister... and it would never... hit... the ground.... "Proper training" my EYE!... of the storm....
Ugh. background music.... thats not even music... Awesome video though.
THEtechknight I was thinking the same. Would have been way better with no music.
Welcome to royalty free music.
Muslim rule the world..
well They think so..
weak ppl give in and here is the result
This is music
THEtechknight I was waiting for Michael Myers to come around the corner and for my molly to kick in the whole time.
Gonna have to agree about the music, I've seen the same scenes at least 3 times and it's honestly starting to get a little boring
Cacophony ...
Thanks for this video I would love to be there w u guys. I'm Donald I would be one of those select few I have family down in Missouri ozarks cool 😀 awsome sky!!
cool video ladies, well done!
Is this after you left khqa?
128 minutes of nothing. Maybe 2 or 3 small tornadoes with dust. 1 rain wrapped tornado you couldnt see.
Awesome video!
Can you please explain and show the bear cage? Ty
The "bear's cage" is the high precipitation wrapping around the mesocyclone obscuring your view of any potential tornado that might be developing or already on the ground..
The intro is far too long
Oh stop complaining if the intro was too long then I like to see you do it better
How did you fund your trip ?
Holy shit! At somewhere around 22:15 I realize that the red car is a Chevy Cobalt....just ask Tim Samaras how well a Cobalt is for storm chasing...oh you can't, cuz HE DIED! Please be careful guys!!!
It's ok his was white
“Go go go go we gotta go” 😂 who kept saying that?
I have enjoyed watching your video, but you do not need music with storms. Music is nice but that's not reason for video. Like someone stated, let the storm be the music. I'll be back to watch the 2019 y'all mention.
Amazing
I don't think I'd take the "Dude we gotta go, gotta go, we gotta go, go go go" Guy anymore though. Really takes the calm and fun out of chasing plus he's just plain out annoying.
I'd recommend some better shooting techniques. It seems like everything was planned except the camera shots.
I get that tornadoes are interesting, but it is creepy to wish for them especially when they can be so destructive to people and property.
Well there's no power in wishing for them, so relax. Tornadoes drop wherever they're developed, not because someone wished for it. If that were true, every chaser would get a Tornado.
Except the majority of them happen out in the middle of nowhere, which is where they seemed to be for most of the video.
What software did you guys use on your laptop?
They used GRLevel3
these boys are going to wind up dead , they need to ride along with someone who is more knowledgeable about tornados. They have no clue as to what they are doing or dealing with. To them it is a game, a deadly game that kills so many people every year. I was genuinely scared for them as they were trying to get out of the tornados path. Maybe they could get in touch with reed timmer and learn from him.
They ruin the whole video with that horrible music
The guy in the beginning looks like McLovin 🤗
A tornado hit the grows in 2014 ands it hit my back yard
0:00 The movie Into the storm 2 looks good!
ATV mudder huh?
@@trooperz3499 I was making fun of the intro
I have always wanted to do this
Going to Iowa state for meteorology degree in the future do you guys enjoy college?
I personally graduated already! Loved every minute of it. Be active and get involved in as many activities/programs/projects you can!
Stewie2552 do you chase full time in the summer or do you have jobs all year round (if so do you struggle to find time to chase?)
My job involves a lot of chasing, albeit locally. But I usually get two weeks in spring/summer to chase.
Stewie2552 I would definitely like to chase for a full time spring/summer job but it's expensive is it possible to just chase and have that be your only income for much of the year?
no way to just chase and make a profit....Repairs,food,shelter,gas,equipment,maint for that equipment, buying that equipment, replacing that equipment, replacing (many) windshields...cost of coverage..WiFi..service.....i ran 10 years 5 months (3 spring and 2 fall)..cost me around 40k a year...you do the math.
Fuck everyone in the comments saying what you should have done to make this better. I think it's great. Thanks.
In 2013 32,719 died in automobile accidents.
Get rid of the annoying music!
What is computer is that at 22:42
Way to go guy’s stopping to help when on a chase it pisses me off when I watch a chaser bye passes a home that has been damage
Need to scoot your tornado alley diagram to the East a bit. 👍
1st tornado I had seen I was so excited I bolted out of the house so fast that our heavy heavy duty screen door ripped rite off the door and I got torn a new one not by the tornado. 😁
Storm chasing is all about saving life's one day I will storm Chase to learn more about tornadoes and save life's and post the videos of the tornadoes and share them with my friends on Google+
Couldn't do it the music was too much
Music sucked wrecked the video completely...
You know ... tornadoes do exactly the same thing. Tornadoes suck and wreck whatever is in their path.
I wish I could ride around with these guys smoking a little weed here and there
yas! I second that ..les go! 💨
Calm down you hippie
pfft, a little, right

I'm good with just the availability of money.

Me: you wanna f*cking drive!!??
“June, 3” 👀 How educated are these boys?
watching this in 2022 - and that is 4th time in a week I have heard Barbie Girl ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh LOL
In all honesty I don’t really mind the music
Oh my god😮!!!
I was Bron in 2014
lowkey that music's gotta go
Lol. 42:25 jumps due to lightning strike. I believe you would have already been hit by that time 🤣
Storm chasing kinda sounds like football.
y'all are seeing things
ZZZZzzz .... what is this? The Brady Bunch version? Don't quit your day job.
Dudes...give up the damn music thumping!
I love you video rights now from Liam
Your intro is waaaay to long
REALLY !!!
shouldnt talk n drive thats killed more people than alcohol already safety first bro
They shouldn't talk? Lol The only people that don't talk in a car are usually people who don't like each other.
i see it i see it
