Parent Educator Academy - Celebrating 20 Years of Neighborhood Builders Impact

Through our partnership with Bank of America - Neighborhood Builders, we are excited to explore the future of our train the trainer model for PEA. This effort, which we are calling Sustainable Leadership, has been one of the initiatives that has been made possible through their support.
Currently, we have hired four stipend alumni to be facilitators of PEA. These four were among 60 individuals that applied and interviewed for this opportunity. All four facilitators are joining our sessions, leading discussions and delivering curriculum to their peers.
We believe that when parents are equipped with knowledge, are shown that they are valued and respected in their communities - then they are able to better support their children and meaningfully engage in their child’s education.
The goal is to see academic outcomes for students improve and for opportunities for postsecondary access to increase and be made a reality for ALL students.
