My first Daytona 24 was in '88. Funny how when you experience an event you don't realize or appreciate the significance of it till years later. At the time it was just cool race cars going fast (Stuck, Bell, Ludwig Le Mans quali 3:15) it will keep going getting faster and better. Then things change rules, politics, economies, manufactures and racing becomes slower, more equitable and boring. That's when you realize a significant era passed you by and didn't appreciate it. But some things are getting better others not so much. Unfortunately the lump in my throat is innovation and technical creativity that I just swallowed and it is being consumed by the equivalency and balance acids in my stomach. Thanks Marshall for the great video.
What was the hilarious Le Mans race where the two leading Mercedes got taken out by a back marker near the end of the race? I think the Jags may have won.
