I spent a lot of years looking for a tool belt that could suit all my needs as a professional carpenter and contractor. Every model I tried had problems. But, eventually, I landed on the most perfect tool belt on the market: THE OCCIDENTAL FAT LIP + STRONGHOLD LEATHER SUSPENDERS!
This short video will explain why I think this tool belt is the best. But please remember, OCCIDENTAL IS NOT MY SPONSOR!
I just love this belt system, and have worn it for 6+ years now of heavy usage. I'm positive I can wear the Occidental Fat Lip tool belt for another two decades if need be. Here are some comparisons to other available tool belts.
LEATHER APRON TOOL BELTS:
These cheaper models are very good for a new carpenter. They're cheap and durable. BUT, I've never liked the lack of organization, and tools tend to poke you in the stomach when you bend over or kneel down.
INDIVIDUAL "PANEER" POUCHES:
These tool belt systems are far more versatile. You can hand varying pouches from a standard 3" or 4" belt to create a customized system. Tool belt pouches are worn on the hips instead of beneath your stomach. They are usually made of leather or nylon, and numerous manufacturers produce them these days. I just couldn't find good suspenders/harness for many of these models, though, and the nylon pouches were not durable enough for me.
THE GREATEST TOOL BELT ON THE MARKET: OCCIDENTAL FAT LIP + STRONGHOLD LEATHER SUSPENDERS:
Occidental Leather makes the most superior tool belts on the market. They are hand-crafted in Northern California. The Fat Lip system is, in my opinion, their greatest model. It is a blend of leather and ballistic nylon.
The Fat Lip system contains numerous loops, hooks, pouches and molded pockets to carry an extraordinary variety of tools and fasteners. I especially like the molded leather tape measure holster.
The Stronghold leather suspenders are the best tool belt harness available as far as I'm concerned. They conform to your body over time and make the Fat Lip system feel extremely comfortable most of the work day.
If you're serious about tool belt usage, I truly don't believe that there is a better system on the market than the Occidental Fat Lip System plus Stronghold Leather Suspenders. Check them out yourself!

For carpentry, I use the Occidental proframer and love it. Cannot stand the adjust to fit because I like to push my bags towards the back when in tight work settings or when the residence I am working in is worth more then I will ever earn in my life! Prevents me from knocking or scuffing doors and furniture in those situations and the adjust to fit doesn't let me push the bags towards the back. I added the hip buddies and the stronghold suspenders as well. Best setup ever for carpentry.
I am 6'2" and I still find the fat lip models are too wide and long for me. I prefer the smaller length and foot print of the proframer for that as well. All leather is heavier but you get used to it rather quickly. Either way, occidental belts are not the Cadillac of tool belts... they are the Rolls Royce :). Diamond Back and Buckaroo belts are very good, some of my employees have them, but the horizontal setup of the Occidentals is much better for me (less bending sideways) then the vertical one (bending sideways is annoying) these brands offer.
Btw, my occidental carpentry setup is now 26 years old and is still rocking it. I also have electrician and drywall belts with suspenders from occidental that I purchased over the years and I wear them regularly. My carpentry proframer is my go to EDC and I would not go towards any other brand.
Good review.
Thank you, Brazeau! This comment is so good I'm pinning it to the top. I've really got to try the proframer sometime. But I will concede an upgrade from Cadillac to the Rolls 😁
The Honest Carpenter - Thanks and Happy Holidays and the Best New Year to you and your loved ones.
The Honest Carpenter - also, after having had the Fat Lip, I cannot see how you would enjoy the proframer! It is smaller and less wide but unless you really wanted to live with that difference... I think you would hate me afterwards. It's like going from a Ford F-250 to a Ford Ranger. Unless there is a need for it, I don't really recommend a downgrade. But it does fit the bill for me well though... the proframer that is :)
You should look up diamondback toolbelts... Thick leather isn't the best anymore. You may also think stiletto makes the best hammers, they don't, Martinez does. It's all good, different School of thoughts. I'm just after the best of the best, not just almost the best.
Daniel Nguyen - I have tried the DB Denali rig and sold it because of the vertical setup DB has going. Plus the belt has to be worn higher because of that and I don't like that at all. Occidental also makes nylon bags which are just as good as DB for less money. I love leather, and it does last. Leather comes from a living being and Occidental uses top grain and saddle leather for their belts. Most boots don't use such high grade leather and can sell for double the price. I can't see myself spending big money on a nylon belt that reminds me of military days anymore. To each their own but I don't see any reason mentioned in your reply to substantiate your negative opinion of Occidental belts then the leather is not as good anymore. Which is false.
I do own Martinez hammers... an M1 curved handle with both the smooth face and a waffled face heads and also an M4 curved handle with the dimpled face and a wide claw smooth faced head. I also have a Stiletto 15oz Tibone III hammer and a 12oz finish. Do I prefer Martinez over Stiletto? Yes only for one reason... that the handle is thinner and a 2" shorter on the M1. Other then that they are equivalent in pretty much everything else. For $300.00 the Martinez hammer head bolts have rusted and stained the handle and the paint on all the heads has chipped and degraded the appearance of the hammer heads quite a bit.
To say that one is better then the other is a loose statement as each, hammer or belt, has positives and negatives that need to weighed in before purchasing. I think that these high-end products are all top notch and worthy to be considered. Then it boils down to the positives and negatives of each to make you decision.
Have you tried any of these products?
Good luck
Just bought my own occidental fat lip tool belt last week and while it was expensive, it is worth every penny, where i work i have to sometimes do drywall, trim work, board ups, flooring and just plain demo jobs. This belt allows me to carry almost everything i need. Huge upgrade from my 40 dollar husky carpenters tool belt. Great video!
I’ve got friends that wear them & they still look good and are functional after 23 yrs. I’m definitely getting one & I really like the set up you have, working for a general contracting construction company I do a little of everything being a foreman & I’m tired of going through 2 sometimes 3 belts a year. Thanks man
Merry Christmas
Dude, that's my belt! I love it, I'm a lefty and really appreciate being able to order it that way instead of wearing it backwards like I used to.
The tool storage is excellent, more than enough hardware storage. I've had it for 2 or 3 years, still great.
Thanks for writing in Max! You’ve got it right-almost TOO much storage in this thing 😅 My rig rests at about 14 lbs. then I stick a drill in it, a driver, a 2x4 cutoff with notes on it, two weeks worth of pulled out fasteners...
@@TheHonestCarpenter I hook a makita impact on the belt right behind me on my left side. Dont even notice it's there most of the time.
NOW I NEED A LEFT HANDED HAMMER
Yeah I’ve got a Diamondback rig but use the stronghold suspenders. They’re sweet and I’ve had them for 10 years. They’ve been on about 3 set ups
Still working for ya??
I've had my occidental setup for over 15 years. Its awesome and can't imagine anything better
I finally got myself an Occidental Framer set last year, the classic green bags, and it's awesome. Leather is great in that it forms and wears but stays strong. I was still somewhat desirous of the functionality of the more modern systems like Diamondback, and the Occidentals do feel very dated and lacking by comparison, though I do really love them, so I opted to innovate a little and improved them with some leather work. I added a bunch of loops and interior pouches and slots for all kinds of tools to make better use of the space. I stitched a bandolier-style bit holder along the inside of the fastener / square bag, along with a chisel loop and two slots for pliers and wrenches, and I'm making a clip-on adapter for torpedo level, and then for the dominant side I sort of doubled the current slots and loops to organize all of my other stuff, and it all looks like it was original to the system. I can quickly organize and add whatever tools I need for the day without just dumping random stuff in my bag that falls out while climbing around. It's now everything I could possibly need for a tool belt, it looks and operates amazingly, and I'm excited to take it through the many years of building!
Truly a king's set of bags. Used a 3" belt, pro drywall pouch,2 pouch pro fastener bag (the one with the dedicated leather molded tape holder, I like my tape on my left), the stronghold lights, and a high mount hammer holder. Used for a couple years as a drywaller (barely scratched a fraction of these set ups life expectancies) and changed professions. Def a lot nicer than a rocker needs but the quality and utility was unbeatable. If I ever go back into the trades all I'll need is a different (trade specific) tool pouch and I'd be set for anything.
I use the 5078 pro carpenter with the stronghold suspenders with the hip buddies. I have been using occidental belts for over twenty years they are the only tool belt I will use . The best period .
I used to work construction here in Santa Rosa (Sonoma County) and Occidental Leather is fairly common for anyone who's been working for more than a year or so. I never quite built up the gumption to pick one up, sticking to a pretty strong nylon one. Having seen them up close and personal, I know that they are amazing and worth the money if you plan on working construction long-term.
Been using the fat lip framing on the obx for the last three years and they are holding strong! Can’t say enough about the quality. Nothing you can get at a big box store even comes close.
You said organization and that is the biggest thing for me. I bought the electricians belt to help me organize my tools. The quality is amazing and in 100 dagree heat I can wear it all day.
I run a stronghold comfort belt with fatlip fastener bag and electricians tool case. Over 20 years in the electrical trade and no other setup comes close. Occidental customer for life!!
Just got my occidental 7 bag proframers yesterday so stoked can't wait till I brake them in.
I remember going through a ton of paneer style pouches and belts, but nothing seemed to work to my liking. This one seems like it covers most of the stuff that I wanted. Good stuff!
I have the fat limp and strong hold suspenders. 6 years using it. I’ve worn threw the metal clips on the stronghold suspenders a few times. I call occidental and they send me new ones for free. Great system
My Occidental bags are 18 yrs old and show no signs of failing...
"Buy once, cry once"
I have had the Occidental tool bags for about 15 yrs. You can’t destroy them. I agree with you they are the best. And like you I agree they are heavy, even empty, which is a bigger negative now that I am 69 yrs. old. But I’m not getting rid of them. I might add the shoulder harness at some point though.
Love my Occidentals. Heavy use for 7 years now and holding strong.
Bought my first occidental set up 22 years ago, for $140. I'm still using them, have had them repaired a few times. Looking to get new bags now, definitely going with occidental
wowwww 140/22 years is 6 dollars/yr cost. Did you get new ones?
I am a fan of Occidental leather tool belts but I also have a Diamondback tool belt setup and am an absolute fan of the Diamondback tool belts as well!
Recently purchased the Big Oxy with the stronghold suspenders......Absolutely love it!!!! The best system I have ever owned..
I have that one but in oxylite no leather. I’m a drywall/metal framer . After 5 years it has no rips and still comfortable. Really good for framing but kinda clunky for drywall. Thanks
I had one pair that I built "EMPIRES" and civilizations with. I am long and lanky and LOVE Occidental. It is a heritage system. Not about money or fashion. It is sold at Ashland LUmber in Ashland Oregon. Thank you for the video. I have the nylon and leather overalls.
💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Thanks, you’re really good at what you do, and you have the talent to explain everything in good detail !
A Romanian’s greetings from Germany ! 🇷🇴 🇩🇪 🇺🇸
Thank you, Tudor! 😄 🇷🇴
I'm not a professional carpenter, but I also use Occidental. Very happy with it! I think you mean Pannier, as in the side bags on a bike or a skirt hiked up on the sides. Not being critical, just trying to help. If I am wrong, I would like to know what right is, as this stuff is very interesting. Thanks!
Man, these tools bags the best. I bought mine in a swapmeet for $135. almost new conditon.
Just got my second set for finish work.
I have the same setup as you for 7 months now. It’s great
I run leather Occidentals too but I run them on my fall protection harness. I keep a small 16” lanyard attached too so when I have to work off of a ladder or rebar cage I can hook in, lean back, and I’m good to go. It’s especially great when in an odd elevated position and I have to drill into concrete or something
It’s like the batman utility belt of the woodworking world. Great review!
Very true, OGB 😆 Thanks for watching!
The Honest Carpenter any tips on how to grow a channel? I’ve only just started and I’m finding it really hard to get subscribers.
O . G . B Woodwork - IMO, stick to one thing and post. If it is carpentry, travel, food, stick to it and post. If you like multiple subjects, open a channel for either but do not mix content. Seems monotonous but that's how YT recommends to viewers. Always keep the content and language clean an refine your style. When you're at a certain number of posts, YT will recommend.
Also, in maker videos, ppl like to see how to's/reviews/opinions of the tools you use (such as this one with THC in the belt or the nifty orange ladder in your shed #3 video). And for building stuff, keep to a type... furniture is furniture, Handyman work is Handyman work, framing and building is.... well you get the picture. Most high subscriber channels have really started with a one-hit-wonder video, the one that got 1000's of views and they stuck with that recipe (content, editing, style) afterwards. Good luck and keep it monotone :)
I subscribed, keep them coming. One comment, the timelapse is cool but you should mix up overlay description but talking and section your video from time lapse to regular speed to explain your progress and what you are going to do. Timelapse is cool for repetitious tasks within the video. Just a thought.
You should look up diamondback toolbelts lol... People who say Occidental leather is the best tend to say stiletto makes the best hammers too, without knowing about Martinez tools. Diamondback and Martinez are the ultimate carpenter rig.
I have a whole collection. Just sent my 15 yo leather bags in for repair...cost me $35. Replaced two small outside pockets, pinched and riveted all corners, and fixed torn stitching. Told em I lost a knee pad and they said they try to find one for me. Top notch, worth every penny
I just bought a nylon set. The leather bags are smaller but weigh more. The nylon bags are really big, but comfortable. I can’t decide which I like better.
i love occidental tool belt so comfortable but heavy ... i bought mine off a builder who was retiring and had the belt for 8 years got it for $250 USD and i had it for 4 years now
There's a new sheriff in town (well, actually from Canada) --- Akribis Leather
Enjoyed the video Ethan. Thanks for taking the time to share that tool belt information. I wish you and your family a blessed Christmas from Surry county NC. Y'all take care and God bless
Thank you, Ron! Merry Christmas to yall out there in Surry County!
Worth the price 100% they will last u 3 at least extreme ware but most people I know have them for about 5 years
wore occidentals for 25 years occi leather and oci lights have shifted to vests and am now wearing atlas 46
I went from atlas 46 to the Occidentals, the atlas 46 were just not ideal for me but I love the Occidentals so far
I have my oxy full letter belt for over 11 years working for gc contractor. Everything from trim to forming concrete.
Yup. Multi-purpose, based on how you design your setup. And they last forever!
Recently I was doing more home projects then I would like to , BUT its part of being , a home owner . I thought I should get myself a tool belt . yeah BUDDY ! here ya go again with most excellent advise . I love the list of great tools as always .
Joe the tree guy ..
Thank you, Joe! 👍😁
Im in commercial HVAC and I use the electricians set up with a few ad ons and I love my belt.
I've always like electrician's paneers, Paco. They have a lot more small features, for all the various sidecutters and screwdrivers and tapes you guys use. Carpenter setups tend to be just these big hollow bags 😂
GREAT VIDEO ON SUSPENDERS.
I have the Occidental builders vest with detachable bags, probably the best all round set up i've worn to date. Occidental Leather are are fantastic company that make great products, 👍 😁 🔨 🇮🇪
Great video!
I have the Occidental pouches and hammer holder with a diamondback Belt. No suspenders yet
I think my latest set is 25 years old and HAMMERED and yet still perfect. no holes.
good review. I'm in New Zealand i have just ordered my first belt as frustrated with a lack of design ideas to accommodate different layout and tools. the occidental does thee perfect lay out i have been re configuring my belts my self and they make one that fits right off the the line.
Kiora!
Really excellent insights on which tool belts can provide the most ideal support - and great footage! Not loopy or jumpy at all
Thanks man! Some professional camera work in this one 😁
I got a Zakco Pro 20 tool pouch w/ an Occidental Stronghold Suspension System
Diamondback is worth a look as well.
I've been using occis for a long time. I use the leather framer setup but if I was going to buy new bags today they'd probably be badgers.
I’m thinking about making a custom belt and build it little by little
I still love my all leather Craftsman bags with straps I have an electricians bag on the right for my tape and tin snips and a nailer on th he left for screws I have owned them for 20 years I put mink oil on them often.
@ I've heard a few people talk about how the Occidental belts can have pretty long pockets....I'm 5ft 8in and I'm a thinner build...just wondering if this bag would be to long or bulky for me?
Thanks!
Good video, Everything you said is true, I have been in the trades for 40 years
I just bought these same bags they were 377.00 , I still have to order the suspenders, and that's an additional 138.00. Then another 15.00 for the loops to slide on the belt to connect the suspenders to the belt, that's over 500 bucks now for the same bags in this video.
OK OK the straps of the belt make it look like my nephew needed to toss them on to wear my tool belt. But I also do like this and the vid on what your essential contents are when you wear it. That one made so much sense I tossed out a few of what I thought were commonsense and added a few of yours.
Excellent bags good price too. A Diamond Back rig will run $600
I have both Occidental and diamondback I love them both! The only thing I don’t like about Occidental is there belt itself. Soo to fix this issue I got a Buckaroo Toolbelt.you may like Buckaroo more than Occidental because they are all leather, durable and lightweight. But, those three names( Occidental, diamondback and Buckaroo) are the crown of tool bags. It all depends on what you like but all three are made to last.
My progression...
Free canvas apron from lumber yards customized with coat hanger hammer loop & riveted sleeves for my knife.
Carpenter's belt (hand me down).
My first rig; AWP oil tanned leather (belt, left side framer's pouch, right side hammer loop & knife sheath). The BEST bang for the buck, think Occidentals on a budget.
My final rig; Occidental Framer's Belt that I'd swap pouches in & out from time to time.
Occidental is undeniably the best, but I'd never kick AWP's (aka Rooster Products) oil tanned belt set-ups out of the bed.
The Roosters would last me for about 5 years with regular use, but the Occidentals last forever for a set.
Did Occidental buy badger? Are badger good bags?
Before rushing and buying some Occidentals, please take some time to consider your work flow. There are so many options on where to pit things; tape measure on right or left, speed square on right or left, what kind of fastener pouches on which side etc. It makes you a better framer by making you design your bag layout instead of just randomly getting one.
Absolutely! I’m right handed I keep my tape and square on the left, pencils on the right. It’s the only way I found to keep up with the production crews. Measure, Mark, square, cut. in one motion. (Sometimes skip the square and just measure, mark, cut.) quickly . Now I work with a remodel/custom builder, they keep their pencils and tape on the right side and cut off saw horses it’s so slow!
I started with a crummy little nylon work apron that my jobsite had spare, and bought a nylon dewalt belt a month or so in to my job. I'm now a bit over a year into the job and have just bought an occidental leather framing belt since my nylon belt has been wearing out and had some bits falling off of it for a few months now.
The experience and training with the work flow, and understanding what I needed / wanted in a tool belt was very important in knowing what belt bag layout I wanted.
To anyone completely new to framing, or other carpentry work, my suggestion is to get a cheaper nylon belt and use that until you get a real solid idea of what you need in your particular work flow, and save the big ticket purchase for when you're pretty darn sure you know what you're doing.
I DB5080 pro framer bags and they’re amazing 💪🏾
The link you attached for this belt doesn’t seem to have the leather tape holder. Is there another link. Thx
I got several different tool belts. I wear the leather apron style belts backwards. I’ve found it lets me bend down and not have all the junk in the pockets fall out onto my lap.
Hey Billy bob, thanks for watching. I've worked with lots of framers and roofers over the years who hung them that way. I tried it lots of times, but just couldn't get used to reaching back for fasteners--couldn't tell what was what. Works great though if you've just got gun nail racks and such back there though. Saves some money too
The Honest Carpenter yeah. I only do it when I carry 1 fastener. The bags aren’t really set up for different kinds like my framing bags. Plus they don’t hold as many tools.
Dude thanks for the info, you answered every question I had
I have been dissatisfied with every tool belt system I’ve tried and I’ve tried many. I’ll definitely have to give this one a try.
I agree I just got this belt 2 months ago I wish I would’ve got the 4 years ago lol
I like my occidental tool belt, but ever since I got my atlas 46 rig, I’ll never go back. Atlas 46 is the best most comfortable belt system I’ve ever used.
I have the stronghold suspenders and really like them.
Awesome video! You should make a video of what your every day carry in your tool belt system is :)
Oxys are the best for sure, find the paid that works for you. I started with some Pro Framers (as a framer) blindly, but i almost wish i would have picked out a diff bag setup. Ill prob just switch/swap mine piece by piece. because overall I'm super happy with it. (with oxy stronghold suspendors)
Well done man.
I have had the nylon bags and vest for 12 years. Its awesom and worth every penny of 300. It would cost a little more now
Great review!
I had the-adjust to fit fat lip framers, and hated them too and sold them.
Great video mate. Have you heard of Buckeroo yet?
I wore occidental for 22 years . I had to retire them. 3 months ago I bought diamond back. There are things I like about the diamond backs but the comfort is just not there. They are stiff . The pockets are plentiful but too tight to fit a hand into. The tool pockets are too tight to fit tools into. I’m going to buy the occidental and add the diamond back hammer holster to it. That’s the best feature about diamond back . Occidental is the best for comfort
Thanks Christopher! The Fat Lip can be a little bulky, but it's hard to beat that open access to your tools. I can shove a whole drill, or a trim cutoff, down in my right pouch and just walk around with it in there. Thanks for the insight on diamondbacks!
If you're a big guy, you should've gotten some Grande bags and then broke them in by washing them and stretching them out overnight... It literally says so on their merch info page.
The one he reviewed is the one I have, you won't regret it.
THE PLASTIC CUPS ARE WHAT IM LOOKING FOR. I KEEP OPEN RAZOR KNIFE. GOOD REVIEW. SAME EXACT STORY. WENT THRU SO MANY AND THREADS GET CUT
Another great vid, thanks.
The only tool belt I have is a hand me down nylon that’s breaking down. This and the Milwaukee contractors belt are the only two I’ve seen that look decent. I LOVE leather, but idk if I love it as much as $300😂
I use toughbuilt. I have the padded belt (makes a huge difference) and suspenders from my old mastercraft belt. I would like to upgrade the shoulder straps eventually, but they're broken in and fine for now. Tried the toughbuilt belt because it is very affordable, but it was money well spent and I love it.
The pouches are awesome! This is where it goes off the rails! The pouches can be taken off and put on instantly with their clip system. I don't have to remove my tool harness any any point during the day. Am I working a cut station and don't need to carry the weight? *Click click* and the pouches are off and on the floor in under 2 seconds. I have a small utility pouch on me at all times that holds a knife, pencil, tape measure, chalk line and marker. I'm ready for cutting! If I need to change jobs, I have a few extra pouches that can be swapped out instantly as the job requires.
I can take them off to climb trusses and squeeze between joists. If someone is getting fasteners, I can pass them my pouch for top ups. If someone is ouyr of fasteners, I can pass them my pouch. If someone needs to borrow my driver, I'll pass them my holster with a clip and they can add it to their belt without taking the belt off.
Big rant, but the flexibility is so mind blowing that I still think about how lucky I am to have them 5 years later. I'll auto pilot the action, but appreciate the ability to be so flexible with my gear in retrospect.
I only buy occidental. Best bags and suspension rig out there.
Now that you’ve had the nylon bags for a while, what is your recommendation. Stay to stay with the combination nylon leather or go the full leather version?
I like to have at least leather bottoms, Nathan! Full leather is nice too; but full nylon is too prone to tearing at the bottom 😬
I know you really like Occidental Leather tool belts. I was wondering if you have tried the Diamondback Artisan tool belt? If you have, would you consider making a video reviewing it? I really enjoy your videos, I too, enjoy a good tool belt. I have the Occidental Leather Pro Framer and really like it. I have seen RR Builders channel do a review of the Made in USA company Diamondback. Let me know what you think and keep up with the great educational videos. Thanks.
Buckaroo!! For the win dog
I want to try one!
I started with a occidental upgraded to a diamond back since it was lighter and I got tired of my hammer smashing the back of my leg all day
Slot Hut I have a diamond back hammer holder on my Occidental 7 bag ☝️
What's your opinion on the Diamondback belts?
Haven’t tried them yet!
14 years In my strong hold setup best bags out there.
Great video dude, thank you.
Loving your content.
I'm using tough built cliptech system, only because I can have the option of hooking up my bags/ pouches onto my tool box, and cliptech hub in my Van.
I like that versatility. 🍻
Great video! Thanks.
I have one the only problem I found with them is that I sweat so much the leather dries out I have oil them but once you oil them they Mark your clothes really bad they tend to rip right where the belt connects because it's not double layered there
I wear size 32 pants what size belt should I get
Any hvac installers recommend this belt? I’m currently a lvl 1 apprentice and am looking to find the best belt possible for me. I’m right handed.
Great video. Can't wait to build my Occi-rig. Cobra Kai. ;)
My electrical foreman still has his pair after 20 years and gets work out of it.
If we asked them nicely, would they make a system for us short people?
Thanks for the review.
Seems like the best idea yet, but what would you suggest, could you suggest, for a gal like myself who’s quite “well endowed”? (😆). Suspenders usually chafe a bit...
Theyre expensive but look at Buckaroo Leatherworks, they're an Australian company
I bought a set of gator back bags they have lasted almost 2 years but they haven't torn out the only thing is the Velcro went to shit within the first year
I have the same set of bags, and I hate them, wish I would’ve got the finisher set.
I had the occidental leather Adjust to fit fatlip bags for maybe 7 years until the waist stitching tore and started to fall apart. That was the 2nd most comfortable setup i had. Most of the occidental bags are not ergonomic, especially for a right hand dominant person. Tape measure should ALWAYS be on the left side. I personally thing the B5611 and 5525 are ALMOST the perfect left side bags because tape measure AND chalk box is right there. If they had 2 smaller outter pockets instead of 1, that would make them perfect.
Akribis leather bags are the most comfortable and ergonomic bags i have ever worn. Until they got stolen 🤦🏻♂️
I have the same Kobalt pliers like the ones you pulled out of one of the pockets. Do know what their name is? they are my go to pliers. Good video and overview of the occidental system
