so when this album came out I was at a job that had brutal hours (talking had to get in at 5am and get out at 2pm or get in at 4pm and get out at 1am) this was my ringtone for my alarm, the guitar riff slowly became traumatic. after all these years I still get triggered listening to the intro and the song in general remembering everything that happened to me on that job (was sexually assaulted, berated for not being friendly enough with my coworkers, and got subsequently fired) . listening to it slowed like this is the first time I've ever been able to listen to the song without wanting to throw up. the song is naturally fast paced and I think I associated that with having to get up all those absolutely horrible mornings, before the sun. but having it slowed makes me feel like I can finally fucking breathe. I am away from those people. I am away from that job. It's over. I am doing better. I am okay.
