I think if it's a driven ball you're using your hands (defense)... I could be wrong but U believe they are referring to free balls that are high, or "passing" as he says "pass" multiple times.
While I normally use a tomahawk to avoid this debate whenever I have time, the question here is do the hands touch simultaneously? To me it looks like they do. If they don't, it's so close you'd be measuring in thousands of a second...which is way too strict to be calling a foul.
It needs to be mentioned that it is also illegal to do the open-palm tomahawk with momentarily extended contact, which would be a catch and throw. There's no rebounding from the hit. I think this is starting to trend among eastern grass players. I've never seen it occur on the west coast. Anyone else experience the tomahawk catch and release?
@@Katzenhaarallergie I agree that when you can use flat hand it is better, but if you have a free ball or a shot going over your head it it better to use a tomahawk because then you can get the ball high enough to set without swinging your arms
@@KatzenhaarallergieWell, it’s what beginners do because they don’t have the training or discipline to learn a proper tomahawk. But he is completely right, the ball either dies 3 feet above your head or you end up pushing a freeball over. No control with the flat of the hand.

Yes, but indor you can just over hand pass which gives you more control.
