Plenty of tins of veg on the smartprice list from what I'm seeing. 35p for corn, 21p for peas (15p for mushy), 20p for carrots. Get that greenery in you!
Honestly, I'm not _overly_ surprised in this case. He said this was owned by Walmart, right? Walmart's store brand States side is pretty good, although not the best I've had (a couple purely grocery store store brands have outdone it). Mind you, Walmart's prices beat those, so there is that.
@@LydiaTarine12 Also worth noting Asda Smart Price is a psychological thing. The reason everything is all white is because it looks cheap, which is perfectly intentional. ISureDoLikeCats Ooh, that's an interesting take, a week on but with a hard, tight budget instead of bothering with the weigh-in and calories and such. If you don't mind me sounding a bit culturally tone-deaf, kind of a 'week on food stamps' kind of thing to show how hard it might really be.
You need to do a week on April 1945 war time rationing. You can have as much fruit and veg as you like. But it has to be in season and locally grown. No imported produce that wouldn't have been available at the time. :D
I shouldn't p at Aldi and Lidl all the time because of the good value fresh fruit and veg and the high quality meats. There would be nothing interesting about watching someone eat normally fir a week.
You could mix veg into the canned pasta. Bulks it up, and makes it a tad better for you. I recommend frozen spinach, if asda carries it. Spinach always goes well with pasta.
You can’t beat a kiddie tea! If you’re tired after work and can’t be bothered to cook, kiddie teas save the day! Also that afternoon tea looked delightful 🤣
Asda does do Smart Price fresh fruit and veg! They just rebranded it as Farm Stores (which is what Smart Price was originally called back in the 90's), they also do some value fresh meat under the same label.

You should have done the 6pm ASDA run for your veg, its when they reduce all the fresh fruit and veg close to sell by date to 5p/10p then at like half 6 they reduce the milk and meat products to stupidly cheap too
