    A little about me and this channel:
    My name is James Aubrey IV and I just recently graduated college from Iowa State University. After college I decided to take a leap of faith. So I moved to San Diego California to pursue my passion for videography/ TH-cam. Overall I'm a pretty chill person, outside of TH-cam I like to longboard, dance, play video games, lift weights and hangout with my friends. I know that success on TH-cam won't happen overnight but I'm willing to stay patient and put in the work to try to prefect my craft daily. This TH-cam channel will be centered around my life after college. You will be able to see all of the ups and downs on my journey to success. So if you like the content make sure you subscribe so you can be apart of the Rome Life Family. (Let's build our own personal Rome's together.)
    What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
    Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
    Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different
    This is a reaction video used to educated and give my feedback on the song and artist

    Hi James!! I saw Queen in concert in 1979. There’s a hotel that all the rock bands went to back in the day and my brother and I went there after the concert and I got a picture of Freddie autographing my shirt. I got the picture blown up to fit a frame and still have it today!!

    He came out during concert dressed like this. They were mad at the company that was filming this. They wanted him to wear the same outfit thew out. They wanted the crowed to stay quite so Queen done everything they could to stir them up. Freddie’s revenge😂😂

      It's the band's anger at the production company that gives the show(s) that edge even over Queen's usual performances. Much of it is a lot faster than usual and more intense.
      Absolutely brilliant show!

    If you haven't seen it yet, you absolutely must see Queen's Live Aid performance. They dominated all the bands before them in the show, and overshadowed everyone after them. They CRUSHED the whole stadium. It's the best live performance I've ever seen, and I'm not even a Queen fan. On top of that, when Freddy and crew were performing, he already knew he was dying.

    • @humphr1d
      @humphr1d 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Freddie Mercury was not diagnosed until 1987, two years after the Live Aid performance. Unfortunately the “Bohemian Rhapsody” movie loosely played with the Queen time line and wrote the diagnosis in as a dramatic buildup to their Live Aid performance.

    To answer your question, I saw them twice in then- West Berlin in March? of 1983 and October, 1984 (my father was in the U.S. military, so I spent high school over there). To this day, despite many many more concerts, those two concerts are THE top two I have seen.
    There has not ever been anyone I have seen that has the stage presence and charisma Freddie had. He controlled the crowd completely.

    I was an 18 year old kid in 1982 when I saw these dudes. Freddie owned the stage, the crowd, the building, the city that night. One of the best shows I've ever seen in my life. I didn't really want to go at the time, because their music was straying from what I was epecting from them, but my sister insisted I go with her. We were in the 3rd row, in front of Freddie's piano, until he said, "Screw security! Rush the stage!!!" Then I was standing on my seat, about 20 rows back. But I didn't care...they fucking kicked ass, and I'm always glad my sister insisted I go to the show that night!!!

    Having had the pleasure of seeing Queen twice, in 78 and 80, I can say Freddie is the best vocalist that I ever saw... and I attended many concerts in those days, several with four or more acts. Other front men matched Freddie's stage presence but none ever came close to competing with Freddie's dynamic. voice.

    Freddie was by far the best frontman, but you also have to give credit to Brian, Roger and John for making the incredible music with him. Stage presence, charisma and interaction and love for their fans are unparalleled. It says a lot when there are so few true entertainers in music. Freddie, Prince, Michael, Elvis and Bowie would definitely be a solid top 5.

Saw them in concert in Memphis, 1974 (where believe it or not they were the warm up band) then saw them again on my birthday, Halloween 1978 in New Orleans. They were everything you see here and much more. If you haven’t already, react to Queen official “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Somebody To Love” live in Montreal 1981. Oh, and “Fat Bottom Girls” live at the Bowl 1982. Love your reactions! And the kindness you express at the end of each one. As Freddie would say, “Keep it goin’!”

    Another great reaction. Thank you for doing Queen. They are hands down the greatest band of all time. Freddie Mercury is the greatest front man of all time. He just oozes charisma and talent. There ae a lot of great bands out there for sure but Queen is the full complete package. All four members were so equally talented, they all wrote and sang and played multiple instruments and put on a heck of a show. they just had that IT factor. Please react to Princes of the Universe and Who wants to Live Forever. These two songs were written for a movie called Highlander and they are two of Queen's best songs ever. Make sure you watch the original video for Princes of the Universe, as the star of the Highlander movie is in the video with Queen, and watch, Who Wants to live Forever live from Wembley 1986. These songs are timeless.

    I am 53 seen them in 1977 in Chicago with Heart opening for them great show this band was ground breaking they invented so many types of sound the kept reinventing themselves on every new album seeing them live was iconic you see the stage presence of Freddy and just a couple a days ago I ran upon Bohemian Rhapsody being sung by 65,000 fans at a GREEN Day concert. Now the context is the crowd is waiting for GREEN Day to take the stage and Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody is being played over the loud speakers 45 years after its release and 65,00 fans start singing it from beginning to end with every part. This is an absolute Amazing VIDEO which transported me to 1977 and what's so amazing is 45 years later fans got to know what a queen concert is like without the band even being present. Queen is epic their music transcends generations because it resonates to our souls and stands the tests of time bridging all people bringing us together. Now go to you tubes Bohemian Rhapsody GREEN Day concert and witness something truly amazing

    I wish I could have seen Queen in concert, but in those days I was too busy working and raising a family to fly halfway across the country or overseas. Whenever you hear a Queen song this bass-heavy, you can be pretty sure it was written by John Deacon. Great reaction, as always. Thank you.

  • @ragjamrock
    @ragjamrock 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    John deacon the bass player for Queen was hanging out in the studio with Nile Rodgers from Chic when they recorded Good Times. A year later Queen came out with Another one bites the dust. If you listen to that opening bass lines of Good Times you can clearly hear that queen borrowed heavily from Chic. Chic was accused stealing from queen even though their song had come out a year earlier. Kurtis Blow also accused queen of borrowing from his song Christmas rappin. Anyway Freddie Mercury who was born in Africa(Zanzibar)is arguably one of the best frontmen in rock music history. There is no denying the talent of this band who continue to make music to this day. RIP Freddie.

He is one of my fondest memories and I’m so blessed I got to see a true legend. I’m very lucky to have gotten to see so many that I consider legends of our musical geniuses so many times .. Van Halen , AC/DC, REO , FLEETWOOD MAC , MICHAEL JACKSON , CHARLIE DANIELS , Heart , John Cougar Mellankcamp, The Boss , the list goes on for days . I love that I stumbled upon u doing this today . Love the reactions I’ve seen just on Queen 👑!! Keep going !

    Im a lucky lady of 66. I saw Queen in 74, 76, 77, 78, 79 80 If Im correct. Somewhere Ive got all the dates and shows. Saw him in Scranton, Pittsburgh, Philly multiple times and Madison Square Gardens as well. Seeing Queen was an out of body experience. Their light shows were ahead of their times. Their timing and performances spot on always. The best was Freddie who exuded sexuality. It was a total mind blower. People used to undress at Queen concerts and get down. At Madison square garden. Freddie had girls on bicycles, but naked strippers while he sang Bicycle Race. Just Awesome. I hate when people say he was gay. He was bisexual. There is a big difference. That to this day people don't understand the difference is awful. It was disturbing to him that the press in the US and the audiences labeled him gay. He was private about his life. But didn't hide his sexuality when he was performing. Its what gave him that amazing charisma. It made men unusually uncomfortable and women wild. All in all he was a master performer and there will never be another Queen. I saw so many bands. Travelled with some big ones. But nobody was like Queen and especially Freddie. His death was a horrible loss to the music world.

    I was only 11 when Freddie passed, though my mom and I did get to see a good Queen tribute band a couple of years back. From what I've seen of Freddie in videos and clips, the lead singer of the tribute band did a great job of giving me an idea of who Freddie was (though I'm sure nothing compares to the original). Thanks for doing these videos, by the way!

    Yes, I went to one Queen concert at the L.A. Forum not sure of the year, either 1977 or 1980. I would have gone to more but the tickets sold out as soon as they went on sale. That show was fantastic and Freddie owned the crowd as soon as he walked onto the stage. I have been to so many concerts and have seen all the top groups and individuals as well as many others but QUEEN is probably still my favorite concert of all time, and I have seen Michael Jackson (a number of times) Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Paul McCartney, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Guns N Roses and so many more. A Queen show is an out of body experience. Freddie hypnotizes you and you go with him willfully...then the power of the other three members just knock you out. Brian May's guitar just sings and Roger shakes the floors with his drumming. John Deacon keeps you head bobbing with his intense base lines. Queen is just amazing. I may go see another Queen show, if one comes to my area because even though Freddie is no longer with them, Adam Lambert (from what I have seen) is still making the experience everything I would expect from a Queen concert plus Brian and Roger are still rocking it the hard way.

    I saw Queen when I was 15 in 1980 in Vancouver, BC (I wouldn't doubt that this video was from the same tour - possibly in Montreal with the hat he was wearing). They started the tour in Vancouver on the same day that they released the album that Another One Bites the Dust came from (The Game), so they were fully energized. They were so cool to see live, and they was probably the best concert I have ever seen. You are right that Freddie is the best entertainer. He was so full of energy, and left wanting more all of the time. Brian May on guitar is one of the best too and Roger Taylor on drums and John Deacon (he wrote this song) are both strong. They have so many more songs you need to check out as well, including: We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions; Crazy Little Thing Called Love; You're my Best Friend; Save Me; and Tie Your Mother Down.

    He was known as the Greatest Showman. He was completely an entertainer and lived for being on the stage. He was taken far too soon. RIP Freddy. You are missed. (And that dude in the audience...WAS STONED OUT OF HIS MIND. LOL Most of the crowd was). I have been to 2 Queen concerts. On back in the early 80's when I was a teen. Freddy was amazing and that is still the best concert I have ever been to. And the second time was just a year ago. Queen is now touring with American Idol contestant Adam Lambert singing lead. He is the biggest Freddy fan and does him justice. Brian May (lead guitar) and Roger Taylor (drums) the only two original Queen members left, fell in love with Adam when he sang a Queen song on American Idol. They say he is like Freddy being reborn. Adam really is fantastic singing lead and you can see his love and respect for Freddy when he performs. Adam is a lot like Freddy, he is a showman and a genuine entertainer. You should check out one from their last tour. Amazing.

    I understand watching live performances, you get to see how they show off their skill, and highlight their passion for their music. Yup, there's a but. But- when I'm listening to music, and or hearing something for the first time, I like to listen to the studio version. I want to hear it pure, the way they recorded it for the world.
    So, having said that, I went through your Playlist and didn't see their Live Aid Performance. ("Crowd control 101.") It gives me chills and makes me cry when I see/hear a audience sing a song with the band. Think about that for a moment. You have impacted someone's life with your song. They have listened to it so much they memorized it! They love it and they will happily sing with/for you - your song. And not only that but they can recognize it with just a few notes, (that's why to tease a crowd, many performers will add a little ditty in the beginning, because the audience is listening intently, waiting for the first few notes.) and then start to scream when they know the song. At the live aid concert, the band that had to follow Queen was PISSED, correction PIST because Queen did a "mike drop" performance, and they had to play after it.
    Then I would suggest album versions.
    The show must go on
    I think I am going slightly mad
    One vision (yes they say what you think you heard at the end.)
    There are a million Queen hits....
