I'd be interested in that bike if you weren't so far away, brings back memories i raced the same year bike in the nationals at the superdome and astrodome in 79..wow
I wish i could have continued its restoration but i had too many projects on the go. It was sold to father and son that were going to continue with the restore.
TNT MOTO what you do, is something I strive to do. I'd love to buy old bikes off Craigslist and rebuild/ restore them. An xr250r is one I'd love to do. As well as a 1974-5 Honda Cr250m Elisenor. The cr250m's are few and far between. And parts are even more difficult. But it's something I want to do.
That's great. Well what i have found is its all about time unless the part is not savable. Both those bikes are great bikes. Just search around for parts before you buy one to make sure you have that covered. Then take your time.
Bike is not selling as fast as i had hoped in the condition that it is currently in. So with that being said i have started to order parts. In the end i made freshen this bike right up.

This looks identical to my first dirt bike!
I think mine was a 1979 model.
Frt fender is correct
Duck bill shape
Rear fender should have ribs
1978 first year of the plastic gas tank?
Good job 😊

Where do you find parts for this bike and year
Ebay . sometimes parts are used on different models . like this one the side panels were also used on a PE175.
Are the springs even with the back
Samuel Smith not sure what you are asking
I would have loved to restore that bike
