Steamed Mung Bean Cake with Shredded Coconut I Nom Tai Lai

  • This is a delicious Khmer steamed mung bean cake with shredded coconut also known as Nom Tai Lai. This is a recipe that the whole family will love!
    ingredients:
    1/2 cup of dried mung beans,
    1 cup of rice flour,
    1/3 cup of rice flour,
    1/2 cup of sugar,
    1 tsp of salt,
    1 can of coconut,
    1. mix all of the dry ingredients together with the coconut and stir well,
    2. wash and soak the mung beans in water for 20 minutes then steam for another 20 minutes.
    3. add the flour mixture to small cups and steam for 6 minutes, add the mung beans and steam again for another 4 minutes.
    4. take out the cakes from the small cups and serve with shredded coconut on top!
