Great Video !! As a new Home Inspector going through the AHIT Course, this was extremely valuable. Thank You, and looking forward to watching your other videos.
Excellent video!! Please do each house system and major component. This is GREAT material to go with the course work. VERY informative and really puts things into perspective instead of just reading and seeing some images.
You have the best videos I have seen for inspections. You have an act for it, good voice tone when explaining as well. Quick question: I noticed you carry a shoulder bag with you and a tool bag I saw on the floor. I'm not a fan of a lot of the tool bags out there, do you like the ones you use and would you recommend either? We carry a good handful or two of tools on each job but they don't make specific bags for all the types of tools we use. They are usually specific for electricians or carpenters etc
oh, man, i wish you would do videos on some of the houses *i've* lived in! my favourite furnace was the retro-fit monstrosity built into the original coal burning stove providing gravity heat.
Nice. I love inspected gravity heating systems. They were sometimes referred to as "octopus furnaces." You may be interested in a short article about them at www.nachi.org/gravity-furnace-inspection.htm
Do you make a notation that the PVC flue pipes were not visible in the attic so you could not ensure that they were insulated? In Oklahoma the PVC flue pipes must be insulated in a non-condition space
This guy needs to measure the furnace intake temperature as well, and compare it with the temperature at the register for the temperature difference. this guy really like the picture-taking job.
Why not make sure that you are truly saved by Jesus Christ and practice this way. Remorsefully confess with your heart your sins to Jesus Christ who is God and tell Him that you right now are repenting of your sins and you want to be born again of the Spirit from above. Tell Jesus that you are remorsefully sorry for breaking His commandments and that you are begging for forgiveness from Him. Allow His blood from the cross to wash away your sins. After this is done with your heart successfully the Holy Spirit will come to live within you and He will rebuild you from the inside out. Look for signs that you are saved. Things like spreading the good news from Jesus, getting other people saved, a craving for the word of God, reading the Bible, etc… These things are known as a calling and fruit bearing. If you're not bearing fruit then keep doing it. Sometimes it takes time to get saved. Read Matthew chapter 13 from the King James Bible. God bless!!!
I tried to call Jesus...number was disconnected...I’m guessing the money I sent Joel Osteen to help with his bills got spent on hookers and blow again!
Always hire an HVAC professional...not some clown like this guy. Home inspectors are generally useless and certainly not qualified to inspect critical systems like your HVAC.
So according to the SOP this inspector is doing things that are not required. turn the heat on at the registar if the furnace turns on and blows warm air. it works. That is the SOP. taking the cover off and igniting the burners etc is not SOP. and therefore he is exceeding the SOP and not following the SOP
Home inspectors are permitted to exceed the Standards of Practice. The SoP is the absolute legal minimum for conducting a home inspection. It's not the maximum.

Thanks, will do!
@@internachi this response doesn't make sense to my ask... but I guess you're welcome ?
Sorry. The answer to your question is: Yes, I like the ones I use.
Would you report on the return register (8:10) being partially blocked by furniture?
It's not within the scope of a home inspection as a requirement, but a home inspector may comment out of courtesy. Good question. www.nachi.org/sop

Right. The inspector must perform inspections according to local rules and regulations.
Great video, lots of good info. Thanks guys!
You're welcome. Thank you for watching.
Which Flir thermal imaging device did he use in this video?
We recommend FLIR infrared cameras.
This guy needs to measure the furnace intake temperature as well, and compare it with the temperature at the register for the temperature difference. this guy really like the picture-taking job.
Yes.
Is there a video of the entire inspection (all sections of sop)?
Yes. We have a playlist for home inspection training step-by-step at th-cam.com/play/PLKPEi6DdHVZx3zjbre1zswswWWCZBHAaK.html
So in other words you bought a box of Crackerjacks and there was an inspection license as the prize inside! Yay
I think you may be in the wrong channel. This is about home inspections.
If you don't use PVC for the condensing furnace what do you use? Hmmmm?
Awesommmmmm.
Tin/Metal ?
Was the flue far enough from the condenser?
Yes. I think so.
very clear.
Glad you think so!
Which one on this inside is the flue, the one you have your hand on or the other one?
Good question.
The flue/exhaust is always connected to the inducer motor.
thanx
Welcome
