Honestly seeing their 2009 game vs what the competition was that year, I see why they haven't made a game since
it was a copy of xtreme 1, they did a lazy job
same for previous games. Delta Force 2 was ugly (despite being one of my very favorite games) and it came out more than a year after Half Life 1. Novalogic games were great but not beautiful.
@@selvans67 Delta Force 2's outdoor environments were more beautiful than Half Life's :) Back at the end of the 90s and the very start of the 2000s, the graphics weren't bad at all. I think the reason the series fell by the wayside was because in its various aspects different franchises eclipsed it. Operation Flashpoint was an absolute revolution in large scale FPS warfare both in terms of environments and AI, Ghost Recon was superior as a small team tactical shooter though its environments weren't as massive as DF's, and DF just seemed to not be advancing much, particularly in terms of AI behaviour. It certainly improved over the years, but not by as big a leap as the AI in other FPS games (in my opinion). I started with DF2 and then Black Hawk Down. I got a modest way through the latter before getting stuck, but in any case although I enjoyed it, it didn't make as big an impression on me as DF2. I think after that this video shows that the formula was staying the same, but the competition had caught up and then surpassed DF. I think the AI was always one of the weakest points of the series, and they didn't make big enough advances to stay competitive. By about 2005 other large scale wargames, whether single or multiplayer specialists such as Battlefield, had better environments and/or better gameplay.
@@danyoutube7491cheaters killed df2. It was and still is one of the best fps ever.. I was still playing this in 2018.. on a good day we had a full server playing tdm with custom maps.. dunno if it’s still around..
Man... Remember going From Delta Force 1 to Delta Force 2... The fucking grass! It was mind blowing back in the day :P
I never played the first game but when I encountered the grass in DF2 I was hugely impressed, I had never seen anything like it in a game and it was superb.
My first FPS. I got to play online with all of my dad's coworkers at the Ford Design Studio in Dearborn. I whooped all the engineers designing Fords on DF2 & DF:Land Warrior 😂 I was 9 or 10 years old.
Delta force black hawk down. Man I have months of play time on that. I played it for years. My brother bought me the bundle that had most of all these games in it up till team Saber. But black hawk down will live in my little kid heart forever.

Delta force land warrior was my first ever game from childhood ❤ I would never forget it..
I remember playing delta force 1, 2 and black hawk down they were my favorite.
I played 2 and BHD, they were good, though even then I felt Black Hawk Down was slipping behind the competition.

Loved the tall grass in Delta Force 2 as a kid. always played with a ghillie suit and spend so much time crawling through the grass knifing bad guys.

Looking at that you can clearly see Novalogic progress clearly stopped on Joint Operations, with both Extremes being extremely cheep and shallow looking titles. And it kind make sense, given Joint Operations was supposed to be big seller. But then it had to fight with titles like Battlefield 2.

Great bro, I've played one of the Delta Force series, namely Delta Force: Black Hawk Down on PS2, and I think the game is pretty good and nostalgic. I hope this game can be remake with a newer game engine, or rebooted with a better story, hehe.. 👍
Even though I have alot of good memories from these games it does kinda show how much they fell behind and how fast. DF:Extreme from 2009 doesnt hold a candle to the likes of Rainbow Six 3 from 2003 graphics, mechanics, complexity... anything really. And between that we have juggernauts like Doom 3, Half Life 2, FEAR and Crysis coming out, making Delta Force and its stickman-enemies and lifeless environments look like a tech demo from the 90s. This decade was probably THE biggest and most important leaps we saw in video games ever, and sadly DF never really kept up.
Delta Force Xtreme is my favorite. ❤

It was at this point I realized, GOD DAMN, the Delta force games were ugly. I mean I forgive the earlier ones, but well into 2000s it still looked like 1990s.

In my opinion, Land Warrior was the peak.
The online scene in that game was tremendous. It was the only time I got really heavily into online gaming...used to binge that shit for days playing capture the flag or team deathmatch with the kickass squad I joined. We were always at odds with the top squad - Covert Special Forces (csf) - and we would mass on servers whenever they showed up. Haha.
