  • Ended up posting this video a little late this year but here is my 2024 edition of leaf season, or “heavy season” as the drivers call it, in San Antonio. During the spring months is when all the leaves fall in San Antonio and as a result, nearly every house will put their green cart on the curb full to the brim, resulting in heavier routes, more trips to the dump, and longer days for green waste drivers. Similar to my compilations from the past couple of years, this video features a few trucks from my collection yard collecting full organic carts late in the afternoon and even as late as 7 pm. This video features trucks working on the Wednesday and Friday recycle routes. The Friday route in particular is the heaviest day and also has some of the heaviest routes in general in the entire city. ZRs primarily get used for organics on this side of town with Scorpions and Pythons being used as spares. The ZRs pack yard waste extremely well but still managed to fill up incredibly quickly during this time of year. Scorpions are by far the worst when it comes to green waste, as the grippers squeeze the toters pretty tight, resulting in some carts not getting dumped all the way. It’s always fun documenting trucks during this time of year, enjoy the trucks I caught this year!
Big thanks to the friendly drivers for letting me film!

*To the City of San Antonio: my videos are not intended to get drivers into trouble. If the drivers did something wrong, please correct them rather than punish them so they don’t make the same mistake in the future. This video is for entertainment purposes only!
