I love your simple but ingenious way of thinking things through. I'm an old Kentucky country boy,and I was raised if its made.....you can make it work with wood! Thanks for all your hard work. I know there is alot more thinking that goes into your work than it seems in the length of the videos. Thanks again.

Great Idea John. I like the wooden wheels. I do have an additional idea for the center of the wheel. Being a plumber I work with pvc pipe. If you use 1 1/2'' pvc for the center of your wheel and then use 1'' for the piece for it to roll on in the center you will have a very smooth surface and never have to lubercate it. They fit inside each other nicely. I cut the 1'' pvc slightly larger than the 1 1/2'' pvc. I then used a 1/4'' carriage bolt to tie it all together with. The nut on the back side was sunk in with a washer on the rear so as not to hit the wall. I also used a couple of 1/4'' fender washers 1 1/2'' OD on each side of the 1'' pvc pipe. Not really a must but makes it a little better yet. I also cheat by using my home built cnc machine to build with. Thanks for your efforts. Jerry

When I saw you had like slots in the door top I thought you'd put the roller struts inside the door so there's a flush surface on the outside and it would offset the door from the wall for future trim. Love your videos and professionalism. Your projects are always stunning and an encouragement to me to take your path. Thank you!

John this is amazing. I love your work brother. I love your overall theme of making things out of wood that are usually metal. For a plywood door it sure came out beautiful. Maybe for fun you could make a set of rack and pinion gears instead of the round wheels

Thanks for the video. I will probably be using this design to make a door for my bedroom. The only thing I would change is I will probably screw the stops from the bottom instead of gluing them like you did. That way if I want to slide the door off I can unscrew the stops and slide out. Thanks again. You get a new sub.

For an inside door, the use of wooden wheels and a slotted track is very slick or cool. Most of the wheels are usually metal pulleys and metal track.

everyone knows you showed it to your wife so you could spend more time doing what you love, and it’s a perfect excuse to be in your shop and she won’t say anything as usual because it’s “for her”
you’re not fooling anyone, and your wife knows this.
“he’s in the shop, but this time he’s building something for me”. meanwhile you’re smiling like a kid that stole the cookie and everyone is happy.......for now lol

Nice job. I like the way you sort of design on the fly. I know you have a pretty good idea of what you want and how you are going to get it but then there's that little issue you hadn't considered. But, there is always a work around to get the job done. I pretty much work this way as well. I'll have everything drawn out and planned but there's always that little issue that comes up and has to be taken care of. Never let the small things keep you from getting the job done.
