By the way everyone I just watched Jonas 8 hour live stream from maybe 6 days ago? he had a pal game where he scored fricking at least 733 giving him I believe the 3rd highest score in pal tetris leaderboards, and he hasnt even uploaded it on here or even made a huge deal about it, hes a very humble man,I almost wish hed try to break records more because I know he can do it, he was less then 20 k away from beating Josephs record at Pal,and like less then 10 away from Koryans Pal record/PB. amazing.This game here is epic,but what he did was he had his wife tape the score so he couldnt see it while playing so he could resist the urge to look up,then he bam scored a fricking 733k absolute bad ass.
Yes, a true (999999) maxout is POSSIBLE, but it would require surviving 19+ speeds for roughly 150 lines or so. So far, this has not been done outside of TAS attempts. Even scoring 50 lines on 19 PAL is very difficult, as the margin for error is practically nonexistent.

Did ya see the 730+ he got last week/ was so bad ass i think its 2nd or 3rd highest pal score recorded,it was at 3+ hours in of an 8 hour live stream sadly near the end the audio was flagged and temp down,but video is solid was amazing.And proof he can beat the all time pb at Pal on his best day.

PAL Tetris killscreen is a tiny bit slower, and since it has a faster DAS shift than the American version of NES Tetris, it's a bit manageable than Level 29 killscreen on American NES Tetris. But still, novices (including me) don't have a chance at even clearing some lines.
I've read that the PAL version is like 20% slower, but Nintendo changed the overall speeds a bit. So, level 18 PAL is like level 19 NTSC, but 20% slower. It's a tad bit more manageable, but for us mere mortals it's still way too fast. For comparison, my highest transition score in NTSC is around 200k, after that I get overwhelmed by the speed. I can hardly play at lvl 19. Furthest I got was like Level 22. In the PAL version I always start on level 15, because I can't do shit on Level 18 speed.
Yeah true... NTSC Tetris Level 19 is hella challenging. I have actually done a level 19 start transition before (transition score was 455k), but it is seriously hard to play CONSISTENTLY on it. I hope to max out on level 18 start someday, but it won't really count anyway because I am playing on an emulator : (

"Itch" isn't a transitive verb, but it is an intransitive verb, e.g. "This sore spot on my arm itches."
