For those wondering how everything is connected I'll pin this here. My RME interface (UFX II) plus a Ferrofish Pulse 16 ADAT provide 14 stereo analog inputs altogether, that just about covers everything you see (actually I have one stereo pair spare right now). The Virus and Elektron boxes don't use up any analog inputs or MIDI-DIN, since I'm using USB audio and MIDI for those. For MIDI I use a combination of the RME 2 MIDI pair (in/out) + the MOTU Express 128, which gives me another 8 in 8 out MIDI, which is more than enough, since I also use a USB hub to control several of the synths. I try and use all the synths with bi-directional MIDI so that I can both playback and record MIDI data in the DAW from whichever synth I'm using. The eurorack and anything else on the side table go through an Arturia Audiofuse interface and recorded into the Macbook Pro running another copy of Bitwig Studio. I prefer to work with and keep the eurorack completely standalone and separate from the main studio, though if I need to I can take one of the Audiofuse outputs and feed that into the main system too. With this setup I don't need a hardware mixer and will hopefully never need one!
Thanks for this - can I check if you are connecting your Elektron devices using Overbridge? I have a similar but smaller setup to yours with an Analog Rytm 2. I have tried connecting it using Overbridge but it introduces significant latency into the system when playing other external instruments through Ableton
Thanks. Yeah I'm using overbridge and used to use my RYTM mk2 connected that way also, no latency issues. Make sure to check your settings in the overbridge panel and use low audio buffer setting in the DAW. Apart from that I can't really be much more help, it just worked for me. Worth checking Elektronauts forums etc if you have issues though. Good luck!@@mikecooper8280
Hi, fantastic stuff! What does your pedal effect chain looks like? Hologram after Polymoon? Cosmos usually at the end of the chain? How about Ditto X4? Am I right to assume that you also use Ditto X4 a lot at the end of the chain? Thank you!
My wife and I are HUGE fans of yours and listen to your recordings pretty much everyday either on TH-cam or Bandcamp. Thank you for being so amazing and bringing your ethereal magic to our lives.
‘Probably not as impressive…’ he says. 😂 Mate, that’s an awesome yet very compact and efficient looking setup, and I love the lighting and monitor setup!
That studio looks like your music sounds. Futuristic, thoughtful and relaxing. It’s actually how I’d like to decorate my room. You said you’re not very good at music theory, yet still you make amazing music. Makes me feel more than the typical dreck floating around the internet and radio.
You are one of the folks who forced me to switch from 30 years of playing drums to start playing on synths, I started with the Korg Wavestate last year, then a Moog Matriarch a couple months ago, eventually I had to buy a mixer, then a stand to put them, now I'm going to buy a Solina String Ensemble and a Roland TR8S, I became so addicted to synths and I am afraid that the Modular addiction is kicking in... conclusion: if one synth comes home, it's too late, many others will definitely follow, thank you for all the inspiration
Thank you! It's funny, I'm kinda wayyy over my eurorack addiction, but I think that's also partly due to very few modules that really excite me anymore and my setup feels somewhat complete.
Happy to see the SYSTEM-8, it really is an underrated virtual analog masterpiece. One of my favorite synths in my studio. But yeah I also have the Iridium KB and it is also my #1 favorite, it has such a vast potential soundscape of unique tones to explore.
"Probably not as impressive...." Followed by me drooling over an absolute dream-Synth lineup worth a nice family car. I'd call that very impressive, indeed!
Thanks for the tour! When I started watching your channel More than 4 years ago, this seemed so mysterious to me. I've always wanted to see what's behind the scenes, who's running it all.
Great little tour of what would be a dream studio to me! Do you think you’d ever consider small tutorial videos showing how it’s all routed for example? Or what sounds you use from your synths?
We've been fans for years now, following your channel and your journey. Interesting bit, we're just around the corner from you geographically speaking for the next day, so I thought I'd give a virtual wave. Love that you also use Bitwig as we do for a few years now. But wow! Impressive studio, walls of synths and modular creations. We can just space out to your ambient tracks and lustrous modulated beautiful reverbs and spaces. Thanks for making this music.
I honestly wish the DTs (I have a 990PRO) came with different ear muffs. These ones seem to collect sweat and look and feel absolutely awful in only a few months. And, of course, they are gray, so the dirt is also perfectly visible. Taking them off and washing them time and time again seems to be the only way.
That was a fantastic tour - ty so much for sharing it. As others have said, I can *feel* the pulse/vibe of the place from this side of the screen. Cheers.
Very nice to get a tour around your workspace. Wonderfully inspiring! I’m so glad that you have been appearing in some of your vids recently, and now we get to hear your calming voice as well. I’s nice to put a face, and voice to the creator of such beautiful music. Cheers to you…
Hope you're well bud. I'm still rocking your old jaspers. So glad I got it from you. Tidied up my studio so much. Your studio was even more impressive in the flesh. Epic room. Take care mate.
Nice one, glad the stand is working out! I have another stand to sell now haha. I changed to the 4 tier, then from the 4 tier to the vertical 4 tier! Both worked, but the vertical ones I realised give you a bit more floor space back and I really needed that at the side of the desk. Cheers!
More impressive than you can imagine, State! This "small" space is the Universe that enables the Magic of your flowing Imagination to emerge into audible expressions. That you can manipulate this machinery to create pleasing soundscapes is mind-boggling to me. But then, you'd find amazing that I create Story Worlds (fiction) from nothing but keys tapping on a keyboard. We share creativity, and likely share a sense of deep Gratitude that a muse moves through us. Thanks for sharing!!!
Got to be the most outstanding music on Utube. You had me on "Love on a real train!! I would not be surprised if TD did not pop by for a cuppa and a chat.
Wow...I thought that the studio was a little bigger than what you've shown here. But it's obvious that you've utilized the space you have to its utmost, and we have heard the results. Impressive!
Thanks for the glimpse into your world my friend. Your Modular set up looks incredible, i bet you can totaly get lost and immersed in that. I wouldn't know where to start with that myself but i think your modular improvs and tracks are my favourites.. Nice one mate.
Your music vibe is also in your voice, both come from the spirit. Thank you for your videos they've helped me tremendously during my neck surgery recovery 🙏🏼🙌🏼😎🤙🏼
Merci beaucoup pour cette visite. Le studio est superbe et le matériel impressionnant. Je suis un grand fan de votre musique. Merci pour le partage. Thank you very much for this visit. The studio is superb and the equipment impressive. I'm a big fan of your music. Thank you for sharing.
Absolutely love your studio set up! I have been enjoying your music for many years, so it's very cool to see where the magic happens. Thanks for taking us on a tour.
Excellent tour. Thanks so much for taking the time to show, and explain the synths you use. I have the Iridium desktop, Hydrasynth and Subsequent37 and agree 100% with your comments. Take care and keep up the great work. I love your music....
Great creative space, thanks for the tour! First thought I had like how he's mixing in an untreated room? Surprised you're getting such a great result in headphones.
Creatively speaking, I struggle to write good music without headphones anymore, the difference is huge to me, the disconnect is real. I'll lose focus easily, the music won't hold my attention, get distracted by external sounds etc. Once I had gotten used to headphones, my mixing improved remarkably. I don't know what the equivalent monitor setup would be to match my headphones, but I guess it would be far out of reach of my budget anyway.
I guess studio space is like garage space, if you've got it, you fill it lol. And just when I thought I was happy with my synth collection... wow. Inspiring.
Great Tour. Your "if I had more space, I'd fill it up" reminds me of Martin Gore's interview from their Live in Berlin video about being a collector "I think being an addict, I do have an addiction with anything that has to do with music. And I've said to friends of mine, if I ever start to collect anything that's not to do with music, Just shoot me. (laughs)". And you sound exactly like I thought you'd sound. Keep up the music. and also, on a personal note, thanks for replying back to some of my questions in your youtube comments. As a musician myself, it's insightful and very helpful to bounce off a question or two off you. - Jeremy p.s. also love it when your cats are just chilling out with ya.
Thanks, Jeremy! It's funny, I'm not actually very prone to addiction tendencies or collecting stuff just for the hell of it, I sell a lot of gear if I find myself not using it and pretty a really efficient setup..but regardless, I do think I would have at least a 3rd stand full of synths if I had the room 🙂
Awesome toy collection, but first and foremost you are a fantastic & talented artist, and no hardware or software can measure up to that. Mesmerizing synth / controller collection, and always top notch videography as well. Keep up the fantastic work.

‘Probably not as impressive…’ he says. 😂 Mate, that’s an awesome yet very compact and efficient looking setup, and I love the lighting and monitor setup!
Ah the Virus. I have the Ti2 Desktop. It’s a fearsome weapon. Nothing it can’t do. Great tour. So much to love.
Nice and cosy studio to relax, immerse and enjoy the beautiful journey those amazing synths and sounds have to offer ❤
Goosebumps ❤🎹❤💯
Oh, I can smell all those electronics warming the air in the room. Amazing studio. Nice, practical and tidy.

You said you’re not very good at music theory, yet still you make amazing music. Makes me feel more than the typical dreck floating around the internet and radio.
Thanks! Always trying to improve my theory. I'm sure it's just fine for mostly ambient music, but I often wish I could do much more complex stuff.
It was good to see where does the magic come from. Cheers from Hungary :)
