Paladin's Nebulae - Highlight from earlier stream on Twitch using most of my synths

- As mentioned on my community post, I'll probably start streaming more often and maybe even some gaming occasionally on Twitch from now on, and save more prepared streams/produced videos for TH-cam.
/ stateazure
Full video is available on Twitch for a while.
DAW is Bitwig Studio v5

Why Twitch for live streams?
1) Less pressure there for trying things, improvising. It seems like some expect a full performance from me on YT when sometimes I really just want to try stuff, test stuff and generally mess about with ideas. I've seen people post elsewhere and criticise me/my channel for not doing proper shows/sets on YT like other more organised artists do and there are those that dislike my improvisations, even though they're very important for me to practice and for improving and growing as a musician. The reality of that is, I'm not so organised but also my setup and Bitwig Studio don't quite support a full show of different tracks (talking about mostly hardware synths here) in a smooth, seamless way without a ton of headaches.
2) Less clutter on my TH-cam channel. Live streams all go into the Live tab on my YT channel now anyway, but I'd like to reduce a lot of that. To me it's just a lot of 2-3 hour improvisations that are lower quality than proper produced videos and a lot of 'meh' ideas that I don't care to ever release. Again, Twitch just suits this kind of content better I feel, and the videos will vanish after 14 days.
3) Regular live streams on YT is hurting my YT income and channel growth. I think this might be due to; a) My live streams aren't as visible as my normal content videos. b) Live streams aren't good monetization. A 3 hour stream with just two ads, at the beginning and end (I refuse to use mid-roll ads) equals very few ad views, especially as live streams only get a fraction of full plays. So if I do a lot of these and eat into my time for making regular videos, and my channel suffers. (YT pays the majority of my bills, I can't ignore it.)
In the event I do come up with something decent during Twitch that I think is worth keeping (like this one) I can cut the highlight and stick it on TH-cam.
Content for TH-cam won't stop.
Hey mate, thanks for breaking this down and explaining the reasoning behind switching to Twitch for live streams. I wasn't aware of all the dynamics at play here, so super useful to have the context. Completely understand it!
That's interesting to hear. Nice to carve out a space that's the right place for experimentation. Twitch does seem to be more of a community for exploring the creative process rather than having the finished product. That said, this clip sounds like a finished product to me!
Hey SA, the Twitch mention escaped my attention while listening to your mesmerizing sonic distractions. It's clear, I concur with @SynthSoundscapes.
That’s the reason why a lot of TH-camrs create a second channel, to mess about with without it affecting the main channel. Of course, Twitch is great as well for that purpose.
I personally am slightly saddened by this development, since one of my favorite streams by you was one of these experiments that probably would have not "made the cut" here to YT.
("Hardware/Analog Synth Stream, and why the Pro3 is shockingly good")
That said, I fully respect and understand your decision, and am looking forward to seeing more content from you going ahead.
Footnote, freaking awesome stream here!
Lost in Paladin's nebulae, surrounded by synths in our cockpit as the spaceship gracefully drifts through the void. Pure sonic bliss.
There is not need a spaceship! Just play State Azure tracks and you are already somewhere there where a big bang wave faces the border of spacetime reality. Thank you for the Cosmos mate!
Thank you for this, I really needed it. I'm going to add it to my e-bike electronica playlist, perfect for a night ride in the city on earbuds.
I sure hope it's not only for a limited time. Please don't take it down!
Thanks, Brent. This highlight will stay here, the larger Twitch stream will disappear after a couple of weeks.
I'm sad I missed the original live broadcast of this, I love the audience with you. Shows cats really appreciate music, my 4 love TD
You are streaming so many beautiful, long, free floating, hypnotizing tracks! It would be great if you release some (that are not part of your albums) under Creative Commons!
he does, check his community page from 3 weeks ago for more info mate ;-)
Thanks! There's a few from past streams that will make the next album or EP. It's a good idea about the CC for some of the other streams though, the downside for me is the time it'll take to listen over those again to find what I can release/is free from audio errors OR I can just forget about these and do what I intended to do and that's to create a much higher quality production release of electronic music specifically for CC (it's already WIP).
@@stateazure Thank you so much for your answer and for your efforts and most of all for the great music! Love the two CC releases you already have on Bandcamp!
@@Tacsmoker Thank you!

Again, I have no words to describe this mind blowing track. It's mind blowing...
Vangelis in 80s, State Azure right now
A long time synth fan, berlin school prefered. I really enjoy these long sets to watch or listen to. The cat is a wonderful addition.
Amazing. This tune should be in a tech noir PC game, really feel the Blade Runner vibe.
So beautiful! Thank you!
I love your creations, jams, improvs....all of your music, it's perfect!
Thank you!
S1gnsOfL1fe brought me here, and this is magnificent work. Feels very much like Pink Floyd territory with this, insanely good👏
One of your best sonic explorations - mesmerizing, deep, ethereal
You have taken a torch of old electronic (synth) ambiental music masters. Keep going new master.
Amazing an totally in my vibe ;-) What synth and leadsound are you using for the melody lead within most of the track ? That is totallly one of my most Iconic synthllead sounds ever in this kind of Tangerine Dream and or prog synphonic rock music i know and I myself have created music with that kind of lead sound..as it is so galalctic cosmic and dreamy :-D
Thanks! The lead sound was the Iridium Desktop, a tweaked patch called 'Shine On' by Luftrum which is part of the Luftrum 25 soundbank that I also made some presets for.
@@stateazure Great and thanks for that great and and great amazing preset and song and i love the great stuff that Luftrum do release as i am vry familiar ith products from Luftrum even though I do not have that Irdium synth, but I have many other great stuff ;-)
thanks state azzure for making my stay at home because of covid so pleasant... marvellous improvs ... even your cat apreciates it...
Hope you feel better soon!
Incredible mix, truly 5 star space dust output...thank you - MORE like this set up please. I have many people visit my studio and they all remark on this track - Who is this Master?
Much appreciated :)
Great music , great performance! And great kitty!!! ☺️😍💕
Thank you!
I caught your live stream on Twitch and it was incredible! Thanks again for pointing out to me how you used an LFO to modulate a sequence in Bitwig. Your streams aren't just entertaining, they're informative too. Great stuff and catch you again on Twitch!
Thanks, Carlos :)
Some gorgeous cyberpunk vibes you've got going there!
Amazing, amazing, amazing. Great looking studio after the reshuffle. Looking forward to everything you do.
Excellent! Love the setup and the different camera angles. But it’s always about the incredible music! 🔥
So cool to see the work behind the scenes!
this is so beautiful , true music art at its finest!
Super track, amazing music 🎵
Watching the artist at work. That adds a whole dimension to the experience. Like a mini concert with cats.
LOVE seeing the full setup. Beautiful track!
Gorgeous music, again! I especially love that lead sound and the way you play it…
Beside of all your other talents, you are one hell of a keyboard player !!!
Thanks, Tonni. I'm improving as fast as I can, practicing almost every day.
I really appreciate your outstanding talent ! RIGHTEOUS !
Really Oniric and mystic ! Dream On ! THX a lot for this Artistic Performance !
Sounds otherworldly. Superb job! 👍
Top notch, inspiring!
Great to see the cat make a guest appearance.
Love watching!
what an amazing way to live and work. Truly incredible work, who would have thought electronic music all started with a simple voltage controlled oscillator, a clipper, a sawtooth generator and some filter combinations... whats great is that anyone who wants to get interested in electronics is that you can still retro design something for yourself whilst there are a lot of good analogue discreet components still on the market, if you like to reinvent the wheel.
Really nice piece!
Man you are very rare, it's very rare to find someone who would stream like how you do showing how you create masterpiece. You are unique 💓 and that's what makes you a different and pleasing hear your music 🎵. Much love 💖
Thanks so much!
Got some really nice Klaus Shulze vibes here. So many good memories.
thanks for the great music....Will escort me to sleep for sure 😊
Wow exquisite! Thank you.
I listened on twitch last night, excellent once again.
Fantastic music and sound !
More beautiful music. Love this one mate ❤
the bass hits so hard ❤🔥

Very nice it's really great Music.👌👏🙌👍
Amazing track!
Sweet Dreams. Great work.
Hey great music 🎶 thanks
Excellent!
Просто замечательно, как всегда! Мечтаю когда-нибудь послушать научно-фантастическое произведение в формате аудио-спектакля с твоей музыкой!
Sounds fabulous as always sometimes it better to just go with it and don’t think 🤔 to much it’s using that natural talent you have 👍
c'est un tres beau morceau bravo.
That intro was buttery smooth.
Lovely!
Perfect!!
This is the kinda guy who walks into a synth shop, then walks out going "Nah, got all of those" 🙂 Amazing music btw.
Thanks!
my alltime fav.atm
Nice! 😊
This is really awesome. Do you think you'll release this as a track in the future? Loved the vibe from start to finish.
I plan to include this as a live excerpt with the audio direct from this session in a future release, probably alongside some other tracks of a similar vein. Maybe a combination of live and studio produced, not sure yet :) Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice relaxing start to my day 28:22
Very, very, very nice music! Great for relaxing after a day at work! Please make this track 6-8 hours long if possible. I thank the author of the track!
I would be very interested in a detailed summary of your setup. Do you have a breakdown anywhere? The number of controllers you have far exceeds my modest collection but I still seem to have USB bottlenecks even though I have 6 internal USB cards and 2 powered outboard hubs. What are you using for your audio interface? Your computer? Is your desk custom made? What is your musical background? Your compositions are amazing - how well they flow!
I've listed almost everything in the description. I think I'm only using about 5 synths in total on USB and I'll probably lessen that in time due to how utter shit USB is and all the problems that come along with it. The rest of the synths are connected via MIDI into a MOTU Express 128 interface - it just works, no USB hassles. Desk is by StudioDesk (Commander v1 - no longer made), interface is an RME UFX II + Pulse16 ADAT. Computer specs in the description. I'm not sure I've ever really gone into great detail about my musical background, though bio is easy to find and gives a basic overview I think. Glad you enjoy the music!
Awesome as always. Hey, what kind of desk you use?
Thanks! StudioDesk Commander V1
@@stateazure Very cool.
Beautiful stuff (I guess I mean both the music and the gear 😄) ✨🪐
Cat got yer tongue.... ahh.... chair 😏
Don't forget your Yahoo...joking boss... excellent music
Nice music
Will you be releasing this marvellous piece on Bandcamp ? Please 😁
Great music but incredible keyboards and stands in one room. So much nicer then your old system
👏👏👏👏
Ive done listen to this like 8 times by now, amazing piece of music. What synth are you playing? Prophet10? It sounds juicy and crispy. Let me know, if i need to start saving lol
Thanks! Which part are you referring to? I used most of the hardware synths in the room
@@stateazure The Lead you played live on the Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol 88
@@powermix24 Oh that is the Iridium, preset 'Shine On' I think, by Luftrum
Do you have an equipment list? I think I saw you had a Hydrasynth, and so do I. I'd love to see it or an OB-6 featured if you have one. Awesome video. 😎
Thanks! Gear list is in the description, it needs updated a little but it's almost there. I don't own the OB-6 and probably never will. I do own the Prophet 10, Prophet 12 and Pro 3! Maybe in the future an OB-X8 (thinking about it..)
Hey SA, great stuff! You still own an H90? And why swith to Twitch?
Indeed?
Yes, I keep my H90 on my side desk for smaller improv/performances or demo videos. I posted in the community page about why I switched, but I'll put a more detailed pinned message on this video soon.
@@stateazure Hey SA, the Twitch mention escaped my attention while listening to your mesmerizing sonic distractions. It's clear.
Berlin school style ❤
Looks like Martin Sturtzer 🔥
We seem to have very similar rooms (I think he has more space), similar entrance, so I followed his setup layout with the keyboard stands.
Ad Limitum.....more, more, more & more
Wow
There's simply no pleasing some people in this format. If it prevents you from exploring your craft, and the love of it, then by all means stream on other platforms, you'll always find support from those who enjoy your music. It is incredible, unfortunately, how even a single negative comment can impact content creators.
I get negative shit here now and again, and other places, most of the time it doesn't bother me and I'm aware that sometimes my videos probably get recommended to the wrong people. TH-cam is the worst, because the videos out there for all the public to see and scrutinize. Twitch is a bit more exclusive and somewhat avoids the mass of idiots that aren't even interested in this music or the videos. I do feel sorry for creators with thinner skins just starting to get popular who will start to attract a wider audience which unfortunately includes hateful, jealous and mean spirited, smooth brained numpties.
@@stateazure Amen.
Perfect music for coding
come on - this is nuts! What's the VST/DAW - I can't quite see
DAW - Bitwig Studio
@@alexandergecko Wonderful... I have a "real" keyboard now and am learning and it can do MIDI so I want to see what's next... I did this 15 years ago and it was totally different. Thanks!
I have used Ableton for years. just been testing bitwig out. Its very simuler in many ways.
@@DJREN2 I was into Reason back in the early naughts but don't need computer based synth this time... I want to play around and try production.
In the meantime, can someone help me understand what he's doing... It looks like six loops at different time scales running along with the live track? wow.
How can I buy a HQ version of this? I can't find it on your Bandcamp page.
It's not there yet, I'll be working on that next as an EP with some other tracks
Do you use your Push much anymore?
Not much, but then I never did really. I'm more of a mouse and keyboard guy, but the Push will maybe get used more once I figure out how do actually perform a set, or if I decide to switch to Ableton for that. Having to return to the keyboard/mouse every time I want to start/stop looping and do adjustments isn't really a great way of working atm.
Where can you buy your music records?
I don't have any physical media released, but digital is everywhere and Bandcamp. Link in the description.
Did you sell the Osmose?
No it's in my studio actually, you just can't see it :) I'm not sure if I'll keep it though just due to not having the time to really use it all that much, and there's no room to fully integrate it into my setup here. Where do I put it? I have 3/4 synths now that just lean against a wall unused. If I had a larger studio, I would probably have one more synth stand
Гитару услышим???
that's a lot of Norns, m8 - why tho?? 😀
I think you are suffering from GAS, nice thus. How about the WAF ? (Woman Acceptance Factor) ? :D
🎉 thank you, it was wonderful!
