    This is quite interesting, foolish fish just made a video briefing on this and id like to take a deeper look at brunos works. I'm waiting on several books in the mail and ive been looking at possible hermetic principals in Welsh and vedic sources, theres so many books/works out there to go through and I'm happy we live in such an open time. Although I'm sure if we get to close to truths the powers that be will step in without a doubt.

      Giordano Bruno was a true master in many ways. His works are not easy, especially the writings in Latin, which include most of the magic related writings. His depth is truly remarkable. You will have a lot of "wow" moments going through Bruno's works.

    Superb video. The cigils look like requency patterns. Do you find anything in that connection? Have you found evidence or record of any conversation between Giordano Bruno and John Dee?

    • @academiamagicae
      @academiamagicae  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Paul, thank you very much for the feedback!
      The sigils do reflect frequency patterns indeed. Bruno may have based his sigils' studies on the concepts of the Mathesis Universalis, the search for the underlying matrix of reality based on mathematics and geometry.
      Unfortunately there is no evidence of him actually meeting with Dr. Dee, for sure they knew about each other through the group of Philip Sydney. They may have missed each other as it seems Dee was traveling across Europe while Bruno was in London.
      He did meet with Shakespeare though and deeply influenced his thoughts and plays, especially "Love's Labor's Lost" that has a lot in common with Bruno's writings.

    • @PaulWallis
      @PaulWallis 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@academiamagicae Thank you. What a fascinating period of history. Dee and Bruno are interesting counterparts. John Dee offered his wisdom to Maximilien II and his services to Queen Elizabeth I - and thereby survived - just! Giordano, on the other hand, gave his information to the public in book form and speaking tours - and it seems was punished for it. Just one layer of a fascinating story. Yours is the best presentation on Giordano that I have seen. It is interesting that a number of Bruno's key insights find parallels in Eastern thought. Yet I have not found evidence of his knowledge of Eastern traditions, other than perhaps second hand via Egypt / Hermeticism. I will subscribe to your channel. Thank you again.

      Thanks for the kind feedback! All my books of Bruno and about Bruno are either in Italian or Latin but I have found the followings in English that can be a good start, I definitely recommend to read about Bruno first before reading Bruno's works:
      - Giordano Bruno by Ingrid D. Rowland
      - Giordano Bruno: The Prophet of the infinite universe by Guido del Giudice.
      - Also Frances Yates' Giordano Bruno and the Hermetic Tradition is a great book to understand the context of his life/teachings.
      In case you can read Italian, all the Guido del Giudice's books are good along with 2 collections by UTET publisher: Opere Italiane (Works in Italian) and Opere Latine (Works in Latin), both with great introductions and notes.
      FInally, Opere Magiche published by Adelphi is the ultimate collection of Bruno's works related to magic and Hermetics.

For example I make a sigil that has deep meaning for myself but you get ahold of the sigil & by meditation, you are able to tap into that knowledge?
