Stop doing the blurry camera work, a beautiful object like this doesn't need some half ass amateur photographer blurring the image then getting the focus set! professional videos don't do this, they make sure it's in focus or they reshoot. Such a mistreatment of the beautiful object.
This is true but when you consider how close this egg came to nearly becoming scrap metal it's a miracle just to see it at all. And for all said and done it is an absolutely breathtaking piece that I'm so glad was saved to see in it's true splendor. I really hope the guy who did find it and bring it in got paid handsomely because regardless of his intent, without him the egg may well have been lost and forgotten forever.
A Fabergé only the richest can own,......but you can own one made by Italian guy unknown for $50 euros. Of course the gems would be fake, but you would still own one.
Actually, the egg symbolizes the rights of Spring as the Pagan worshippers of the Goddess Eostre would celebrate and only has anything to do with Christ because the Catholic Church adopted many Pagan rituals and symbols.

Difficult one as the Russian gvt of the time sold it. Maybe we should get all museums to return artifacts to their original location and descendants of original owner!

From a time long gone
But not forgotten.
Thank god they figured it out before it got scrapped, would of been a tragedy.
Trying to remember where the guy found it and also glad he did research. It was going to be sold for "scrap". Yikes.

No details on what its composed of?
Gold (rose and yellow), Silver, brilliants (diamonds) and cabochon sapphires.

Tens of millions of dollars.
