I think most of the actors had realised the writers had checked out. They responded with varying degrees of professionalism. Steph Dillane realised the writers screwed his character up, yet in true Stannis fashion, grit his teeth and let his character be assassinated both quite literally and textually 😂
@NordicThommy of course they knew it lmao I remember seeing the interviews where they asked about season 8 opinions. Peter dinklage, Kit Harrington, and a few others answered "its......uh.....shocking." they didn't even know how to talk about it in a positive light lol
1:46 'We need allies, powerful allies... but more importantly we need allies, and I have brought those allies home to fight alongside us.' I know that was edited together, but considering the state this show ended up in, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if that was an ACTUAL line in the final two seasons. 😑
Dany kinda forgot the iron fleet Jon kinda forgot how to be a leader Varys kinda forgot how to be deceptive Jaime kinda forgot that he cared about innocents Bran kinda forgot how to have a personality But most importantly, D&D kinda forgot how to write
They know how to adapt a book to television, not how to write a new one. They were tasked to do something they didn't sign up for. Seasons 7 and 8 aren't their fault, it's GRR's, that fat lazy bastard who can't write a single book in 10 years.
David Benioff: "Hey Kit, here's the script for season 8" Kit Harrington: "I don't want it" Benioff: "Ah good I see you have your lines memorized" Harrington: "No I mean your script. I don't want it, I never have."
"He wanted it, Jon knew then. He wanted it as much as he had ever wanted anything. _I have always wanted it,_ he thought, guiltily. _May the gods forgive me._ " - Jon Snow XII A Storm of Swords, reminiscing on his desire to be the Lord of Winterfell ever since he was a little kid. He had always wanted it. It's insane to me that the writers of the show literally took the exact line that cements Jon Snow's character of being a Bastard who desires power and turned him into a mumbling mess for the last two seasons of the show.
I dislike the second half of the show as much as anyone but ur quote does not disprove that Jon may reject the iron throne in the books, wanting to stay out of southern politics and wanting to be Warden/King/lord of the north are completely different things.
"IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOU WANT!" Actually it does, as the rightful heir to the Iron throne Jon has the right to abdicate it and give it to the next closest heir, Danerys. Had they LITERALLY JUST SPOKEN LIKE ADULTS instead of saying "u r muh qween, i dont want it" they could have easily sorted it out, and saved literally thousands of innocents
How does revealing that Jon is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne benefit Daenerys? That only weakens her claim to the throne. Even if Jon abdicates, people will still see her as an illegitimate ruler. And if Jon decides to one day betray her, he'll have cause to do so and many will rally behind him. The best way to handle it was to keep it a secret.
@@liamjm9278 i don't think Dany wants that. Even though the show seems pretty rushed, it is clear that Dany will sooner or later go mad for the Throne like her ancestor, and no matter how much she loves Jon, she will desire the throne more and Jon will be seen as a rival, especially since he will be the one with all the soft power
@@quakethedoombringer all they have to do is marry, it ends any dispute and House Targaryen is unified.
