You should definitely check out the original Orphan Black though, as she plays a dozen plus clones throughout the series, which is where her reputation for being a great actress comes from. She really does show off impressive range and skills. Unfortunately mainstream audiences only know her from Marvel, which she couldnt save no matter what she did.

I'm really excited about them leaning so hard into the biopunk aspect of the world. I loved that aspect of the original (I honestly think it's one of the best examples of the genre), and can't wait to see how they expand on it. Orphan Black is by far my favorite TV show, I have some issues with it, but I think it's one of the best shows out there. It's so underrated, so I'm surprised it's gotten an audiobook series and now a full on sequel series. I'm really excited for this, I wonder why Graeme Manson wasn't involved though. I have faith it'll be good, and I love what I've seen so far, it's just a shame he doesn't have a hand in it.

I just finished watching the series. Loved it! A slow burn but it was excellent and I truly hope there will be a second season. The ties to the original series are wonderful, especially if you’ve listened to the radio plays that came after the show.
They picked the right person to be the centre of the show. Kristen can hold her own when it needs to be a bit dramatic. Really looking forward to this. I also hope Tatiana finds something with enough meat in it to be worth her talent. She Hulk was not it.

I am French so i had the opportunity to watch it. It is not the Orphan black we know and it is great because it doesn't try to be. Think of it as a new series that revolves around cloning. Nothing is recycled and I think they made the right choice. Waiting for season 2.
So, I'm a little torn here. I absolutely love Orphan Black. The writing Tatiana and the cast made that show. I'm going to go into this with an open mind because its written by the creator and Ritter is a great actress, but its going to be hard not to compare Ritter and Maslany.

Season 5 starts a bit wonky, but it gets progressively better once you make it past the first couple episodes, and the final 4 episodes are some of the best in the entire series. They're classic Orphan Black and the show ends on a high note. One of the best endings to a series I have EVER seen!

But somehow, I feel like OB: Echoes isn’t gonna be better than Orphan Black. I’m just wondering how long it’s gonna take to meet some clones. Orphan Black: The Original was excellent. Tatiana set the bar high for playing different clone versions. Krysten Ritter aka bka Jessica Jones was amazing. I just hope with OBE that Krysten is playing a new and different clone instead of a continuing story of Tatiana's 11 or more clones.

I think this might go more into the Westworld territory. Where instead of playing clones at the same time like Tatiana Maslany did, maybe she’ll reincarnate as a different clone each time she dies but with fragments of her original persona each time. It also takes into a more sci-fi setting like Westworld. I think that might be a good route to go and help differentiate between original orphan black and Echoes.

THE ORIGINAL SHOW WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE RANDOM FINDS EVER!!! I go back and rewatch the first few seasons now and again. Tatiana Maslany absolutely murdered every single role. I hope that this show is at least half as exciting, thrilling, funny, nerve wracking, mysterious, etc.

My heart stopped after what happened to Jules😭😭😭 what's up with writers and my fave characters🤕 I will never forgive u😭😭😂 Shocked at the revelations from the ending😱 I can say that i liked Jules hair black more than blond😂 Can't wait for what happens for the genius teenage copies🤓 Also, i wanna see if the copies, Beta Kira and Beta Eleanor (aka blond Jules😂) could feel a connection or has chemistry considering their Primes are wives😂😂
AMC, you REALLY need to start marketing this show A LOT more, because it already released on November 3rd on Stan Australia (and will release later this week in New Zealand) and A TON of people have already seen the entire season. Now that the SAG-AFTRA strike is over, you need to ramp up the marketing campaign, schedule interviews and a premiere, to get the show out as soon as possible, because by the time you finally decide to release it next year, everyone will have already seen it and moved on, which could result in it getting canceled, which would be a shame, because Orphan Black is a beloved franchise with potential for more stories. The way the distribution of this show was handled was an absolute MESS and you're shooting yourself in the foot by refusing to promote it.
I'll watch anything with Kristen in it. She has that Chistopher Walken excellence that anything she's in is good, and the acting is always top notch and memorable.
Surprised I knew nothing of this until now. The original went off the rails around season 3, soni hope this one is a bit more focused and goes into the lore more.
Just finished it. The original orphan black is a masterpiece that even in recent seasons looked interesting because of the idea and good writers. Echoes is echoes. You can watch the new show, but it's just average sci-fi without logic) Spoilers: 1) 3d printer could exist in the universe of the original, but Kira as a mad scientist is a stupid idea. A girl who had to go through experiments, who grew up among the clone club. And then she suddenly starts cloning people? Writers are going nuts. They obviously consider the "next chapter" as a part of the original story. Again. How could Kira, with all that she experienced in the "next chapter", think about such experiments? 3) The show tries to imitate the original even in detail. For some reason, the audience should empathize with the new characters simply because they are suffering. All three versions of the new clones are boring. The clone club worked because everyone had a background, their life didn’t focused on finding the answer to the question "who am I?". In the new show, the characters literally have nothing in their heads and run like mad with one thought in their head. They even like call themselves printed, unlike the same line of the original - "don't say the c-word". Acting abilities as terrible as a plot. Only Kira is not that bad. Despite the fact that the main story with her wife are poorly written. The actress is doing well. The new Kira has a background, emotions and a relationship with someone behind the scenes. And her meetings with Felix and Delphine are the only reason why you should watch this show. 4) Plot twists don't work because it doesn't lead to anything. The main character can be kidnapped, released, and then killed in 15 minutes, and everyone ok with it. It would be much easier to buy the rights to the text of “the next chapter” than to write a plot based on one good idea (although in general echoes tries to answer the same questions as the original)

Nothing can come close to the original and Tatiana Maslani's phenomenal performance but would still give it a watch cause I miss the Orphan Black universe a lot.

@@cordcuttercam I watched it too and I couldn't disagree more. Nothing in this show comes close to what Tatiana did in even the first 3 episodes of the original. It's a fun show, and I hope it gets renewed because it definitely has potential, but it's nowhere near as good as the original.

First of all. Kira and her wife. Ugly cried😭😭 AND THE BETRAYAL after everything that she did for her😭 but thankfully it worked out in the end😭 I hope nobody has to loose each other again! AND the copies! That one scene where Xander can see a recent memory from his Prime, i wonder if that's something that happens when their prime is still alive. They can share memories with them. My heart stopped after what happened to Jules😭😭😭 what's up with writers and my fave characters🤕 I will never forgive u😭😭😂 Shocked at the revelations from the ending😱 I can say that i liked Jules hair black more than blond😂 Can't wait for what happens for the genius teenage copies🤓 Also, i wanna see if the copies, Beta Kira and Beta Eleanor (aka blond Jules😂) could feel a connection or has chemistry considering their Primes are wives😂😂

Krysten Ritter being the lead gives me hope. Following up Tatiana's characters is one hell of a task, but I'd say Krysten is certainly up for it.
AMC, you REALLY need to start marketing this show A LOT more, because it already released on November 3rd on Stan Australia (and will release later this week in New Zealand) and A TON of people have already seen the entire season. Now that the SAG-AFTRA strike is over, you need to ramp up the marketing campaign, schedule interviews and a premiere, to get the show out as soon as possible, because by the time you finally decide to release it next year, everyone will have already seen it and moved on, which could result in it getting canceled, which would be a shame, because Orphan Black is a beloved franchise with potential for more stories. The way the distribution of this show was handled was an absolute MESS and you're shooting yourself in the foot by refusing to promote it.
I'll watch anything with Kristen in it. She has that Chistopher Walken excellence that anything she's in is good, and the acting is always top notch and memorable.

Surprised I knew nothing of this until now. The original went off the rails around season 3, soni hope this one is a bit more focused and goes into the lore more.

Just finished it. The original orphan black is a masterpiece that even in recent seasons looked interesting because of the idea and good writers. Echoes is echoes. You can watch the new show, but it's just average sci-fi without logic)
Spoilers:
1) 3d printer could exist in the universe of the original, but Kira as a mad scientist is a stupid idea. A girl who had to go through experiments, who grew up among the clone club. And then she suddenly starts cloning people? Writers are going nuts. They obviously consider the "next chapter" as a part of the original story. Again. How could Kira, with all that she experienced in the "next chapter", think about such experiments?
3) The show tries to imitate the original even in detail. For some reason, the audience should empathize with the new characters simply because they are suffering. All three versions of the new clones are boring. The clone club worked because everyone had a background, their life didn’t focused on finding the answer to the question "who am I?". In the new show, the characters literally have nothing in their heads and run like mad with one thought in their head. They even like call themselves printed, unlike the same line of the original - "don't say the c-word". Acting abilities as terrible as a plot. Only Kira is not that bad. Despite the fact that the main story with her wife are poorly written. The actress is doing well. The new Kira has a background, emotions and a relationship with someone behind the scenes. And her meetings with Felix and Delphine are the only reason why you should watch this show.
4) Plot twists don't work because it doesn't lead to anything. The main character can be kidnapped, released, and then killed in 15 minutes, and everyone ok with it.
It would be much easier to buy the rights to the text of “the next chapter” than to write a plot based on one good idea (although in general echoes tries to answer the same questions as the original)
