Yesterday, I had the great privilege of visiting elderly seniors in A nursing home being A blessing to them and I met this one lady in her room who can't even walk at all. She cried the whole time because I was her only visitor for Easter.
Thank you for your gesture of visiting our elderly. I'm a CNA in a long term care facility on our Alzheimer's Unit 💜 and only 2 of 23 residents had visitors yesterday.
This was a pivotal episode in the legacy of the series. It had the classic feel of the Homecoming yet propelled the program to a long-running series. So many memorable moments where viewers became emotionally invested in this special family for years to come. In fact, a lifetime for many of us.
I remember The Easter Story very well so heart warming and sad I fried when Olivia got out of the bed quickly thought she heard Elizabeth calling to her I knew then Olivia would be fine I especially like the camera shot of the sun just coming up p that early morning with the trees in black and white Don't laugh Judy but I actually took a picture of that with my phone I love The Waltons great show wonderful people❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
An episode where you can see the family coming together during a time of crisis and supporting each other during this terrible illness It is also special because you see Olivia have time to really get to know her childrenm especially John Boy and Mary Ellen. Beautifully written and filmed; today's shows do not measure up to this wonderful show.
@@judynorton2598 Thank you, I miss the days of when television was so good and you didn't know what to watch first. The 1970s was the golden age for family dramas.
I will always remember the scene where Mama looks out the window and sees the crocuses blooming. This was a very special episode out of so many special episodes. Thank you for sharing.
I was born in spring 1973!! And the waltons have been a part of my life from the get go when my parents watched it..and even now as my husband and I watch an episode or two almost every night. It's so calming during life's storms. What a gift you and the rest of the cast and crew have given us Judy!!❤❤❤
An incredible episode that catapulted the Waltons into being the greatest TV drama of its time. Judy you took your character to another level as well. You’re a treasure.
Yes, John Ritter on the show was so wonderful….he was excellent in that role and I’m so glad he did so many episodes right up to marrying Miss Hunter and on. Come to think of it they always had the cutest ministers on the show often sparking attention from the Walton girls. 😊❤️
This two part episode has to be one of my favorites. I love all the mini stories within the whole story...the relationship between Olivia & her children. This episode gives me great comfort whenever I'm stressed or have trauma. Matter of fact when my mother unexpectedly passed away a few years ago I would play this episode on repeat to sleep to & it helped me thru my grief at night...kinda like listening to a story. I loved the scenes between Mary Ellen & GW 🥰❤️
Our family would gather around the TV once a week on Walton’s night and watch every episode. My father was born in 1929 and he recognized some of the characters, as people he knew in his little community. It gives me wonderful memories to watch each rerun episode, because it takes me back to our living room when I was only 13-years old in 1972, when it first aired. To this day, the. Walton’s is my favorite TV show. In 2022 my husband and I had the pleasure to stay at John and Olivia’s bed-and-breakfast in Schuyler Virginia. We slept in the girls room. I felt like I was home.
This was one of my favorites as well. I love when grandpa went out to plant the crocus with kids....it was just such a grandpa thing to do. And sweet Elizabeth sucking her thumb. Kami was such a natural. I always loved this show because it reminded me of my family growing up, even though I grew up in the 70's our family dynamic was similar.
I'm just thinking of the timeline of the show and how David Doremus had just come off of Nanny and the Professor recently and how quickly he grew into a teenager in a few short years!
This is one of my favorite episodes. “Eleanor the elocutionist” still makes me giggle every time. Oh and Grandma when she came outside to get John Boy from the barn to go get a doctor, the look of worry and dread on her face. That entire episode was so good
This was one of my favourites too. As soon as I realised which one it was I immediately thought of Elizabeth and Jim Bob planting those flowers and the scene where mama gets up and walks when Elizabeth cries out. It was a special episode for so many reasons 🩷

@@judynorton2598 Judy, I was raised for many years by my grandmother, for good reasons, that I wish not to go into. I did return home when I was old enough to take care of myself. At any means, my dear Grandmother gave me my foundation at a very young age, which I’ll never be able to repay her for. I have another yes YET another question that I think would be interesting here, that I’ve thought about. I do wonder where on the table of poor, medium, rich, assets/income: would we categorize the family of the Waltons. My grandmother was born in 1908, married in 1927. They already had two children before the stock market crashed. They were just starting out, and they ended up picking cotton in the fields of Alabama as sharecroppers for years during this time period. She told me that many whites that had money but lost everything would snub the black people there, as if they were better. Her and my grandfather, after eating by themselves the first couple of nights noticed that all the blacks would bring only one dish at a gathering each night. They would sing and my grandparents enjoyed it so much. She and my grandfather talked to each other about it and the following morning asked could they join them. They said of course you may join us. She said the whites would look at us eating with such hatred, but she didn’t care. She said they’re as good as we are, and we ate much better than most there, being you only had to prepare one dish to join, all the dishes were grand eating!!! Should I say the best dishes fore they only had to make one, so they could make it extra special. Lord I told you I wouldn’t write a book, oh me. My grandparents did survive and had nine children. They also bought a farm later on in the 40’s. At any means my question is “how the “Waltons” would be ranked in that economy, during that time frame. Let me tell you, because they had their own land passed to them, and a home already on it, they were so blessed. I would if I were guessing, at least middle, or perhaps, even upper middle class. Just to have your own roof over your head, and farm to work with, not have to share with others. Of course the “Waltons” were great to share with others always, as it should be in life. Well I hope you see my point. I do wonder on a national level where they would stand economically. I know there were so many struggles throughout the show, even during War times. When I say this, it’s also very true that a third of the population was out of work, and in food lines. I can still remember the characters of Olivia and Grandma saying, we sure are blessed even in these times. Well the “Dust Bowl Cousins” come to mind. It’s an interesting topic I feel. Sorry so long, but my grandmother is the inspiration of many of my questions. I’ve heard so so many stories and I have kept them all. Toney Dale So very SORRY it's so long :... i HAVE A HARD TIME GETTING TO THE POINT, ALWAYS HAVE....... NOT A WORD FROM ME FOR A GOOD WEEK!!!!
Gosh this made me cry! I was 12 years old the first time I saw this and can still remember gasping when Olivia got out of bed half asleep to go to Elizabeth. My dad played in a country band then, and his good friend Eiley played with him, and used forearm crutches from having polio as a child. So I well knew its awful consequences. Thank you Judy, dearly loved this. ❤
I would have to say this is one of my very favorite episodes. I loved it when Mary Ellen says to G.W. if he's going to learn to dance or is she going to wham him! Such a great episode. Thanks for sharing Judy.
This was a wonderful episode on many levels. You were fabulous…what a multilayered performance. Thanks again for giving us a look behind the curtain. I can’t believe it was 50 years ago I sat watching the Waltons while my 3 year old slept. As a young single mother this was my entertainment and I loved it. Judy..I don’t think you know how much your channel means to so many of us.
Judy, how wonderfully you told this story, the looks on your face said you were enjoying it also! I haven't seen this one yet, Im definitely going to look for it this evening.!! Thank you so much for this, Judy!!! 🌷 👍👍
This is one of my favorite episodes, everyone gets a special highlight! So adorable to see you and GW so young and playful and I love when John Boy teaches you to dance. The ironing board scene is precious and I love hearing how close Jon and Ellen were in real life, it definitely showed on the screen. Amazing that Jon was able to write that song so quickly! Some very sweet scenes with Richard and Mary and I loved seeing Erin’s character develop. The scene with Richard and Ralph at the end is one of my favorites scenes ever! They worked so beautifully together and I’m sure were thankful to have such wonderful material to work with as actors. Thank you for sharing your memories of this episode and Happy Easter!!!
I think "Are you gonna take me in your arms or do I have to wham you" has got to be in the top ten comments of Mary Ellen! She had a lot of good lines. I always saw Mary Ellen as tough and athletic so you embodied her well. I come from a family of 15. Nine boys and 6 girls. Rural Ohio 1970s but I was quite young in 19 72 I was 3. This family was our family minus dysfunction. Although I think the kids in the Waltons ran away a lot more ha ha. I adored this show still do.....Thankyou
I watched this episode on Good Friday! I've always wondered if Earl's mother had polio in real life. I agree with you Judy, that this is one of the " classic" episodes! Hope everyone had a great Easter.
This 2 hour episode is when I first remembered first watching The Waltons. I was 9. Obviously, I remember watching The Homecoming but it’s the Easter episode which grabbed me. The ending where Olivia “hears” Elizabeth always freaked me out. LOL!!! It was almost scary (to me) but then hopeful when Olivia is standing & everyone comes rushing in. Side note. It wasn’t till I was older that I found it funny how you all entered the bedroom in the final shot by height. You all found your marks & understood the assignment. LOL!!! 1973 was a lifetime ago. Great memories. Keep up the good work.
I am so thankful to have grown up watching every episode of The Walton's and currently the re-runs. I so wished we had the family quality shows today that were in aired then❤️ Thank you for sharing the behind the scenes, it makes me feel even closer to you all!
I loved everyone of the reunions episodes, especially the Easter episodes.I loved the Easter episode in 1973 when Olivia was healed of the polio.I thought when Mary Ellen wanted to sneak the baseball glove to church was cute.
This is one of my favorite episodes. There are other episodes where each of the other adult characters face life altering health issues but you see the importance of Olivia's role in the family here and how dependent everyone is on her.
Happy Easter, Judy!! This is one of my favorite episodes. Thank you!! I always laugh at Mary Ellen when she tells GW, "Are you going to take me in your arms or I'm I going to wam you?" She also stating pretty much the same if the children snicker. I remember only one scene when it originally aired, and that was between John and John Boy. This is such an incredible scene. Although I was 11, I can remember watching it like it was yesterday. Jon's Ironing Board Blues is such a fun, happy song. The fact that he wrote it so quickly is amazing! I love every role of each person in this episode. Thank you, Judy! 🥰
Great story. I have all the Waltons special 2 hour episodes saved to my dvd. I still love that show. I was disappointed when JohnBoy left. He was the star of the show and my big tv crush.
Important for life & for storytelling challenges, the superlative and beloved Michael Learned said, in an interview, her father’s life had a moment like Olivia’s rush out of bed when Olivia hadn’t seemed able to walk. The interview is on video online somewhere. If I recall correctly, Michael’s father had struggled with polio or another muscular or neurological disease. Ms. Learned said she suggested the subconscious reaction as a way to better resolve the story’s ending, rather than the original idea considered. Thanks, Judy! Your videos are Joys. (I hope Robert Wightman might be a guest. He took up such a challenge becoming John Boy and for all grateful fans he was key in overcoming business production perspectives, thus helping The Waltons continue several more years! I hope he knows he’s a welcome and brave Waltons champion!)
Yes, that episode had so many element to warm your heart and tug at your emotions and tears. I recall the dawning of that morning at the end the sunlight shining through the trees and the other scenes leading up to Olivia getting up to go to Elizabeth. Tears of joy flow 50 years later I tell you. Good stuff there! Stories like this is why the world loved the Waltons.
I'll have to watch that one again. Thanks, Judy!! Easter is always wonderful, reminding us all that Jesus has risen!! He has risen indeed, and we who believe in Him will rise from the grave too. Alleluia!! Happy Spring to you and your family.💕🎚
I remember this episode when it first aired well, I was 12 years old and my own mother became afflicted with an illness. I also remember the dance scene with GW. I was about ready to start my junior high school dance sojourns. Kudos to Michael for playing Olivia in ill health. A heart tugging episode. I'm glad both our mothers made it through their health plights . Great video Judy . Thank you again!
One of my favorite episodes as well Judy. The Walton’s touched me in so many ways and still does. I grew up in a family of eight brothers. Although my grandparents did not live with us they lived only a few miles away and we saw them nearly every day. This episode always reminds of a time when my own mother (currently 89) was bed ridden for two years with back problems. Happy Easter and God Bless By the way that color looks great on you.😊
Judy, to my knowledge no other regular series ever did an episode about Easter because it was usually rerun time. I think this is the favorite of most of the fans. My mother always loved it!!! Judy, Lee Rich had already completed his order of episodes for CBS. Fred Silverman asked for another episode because 'The Bicycle' was no. 1 in the ratings first. 'The Easter Story' was not eligible for the Emmys that first season. Apparently Michael won her second Emmy for this episode. John McGreevey was nominated for it the second season. I think the Baldwins went to both churches at different times. They talked again about being Episcopal in 'The Baptism' episode. Ellen had a handwritten copy from Jon of 'Ironing Board Blues' on her wall. Michael Learned told me she changed the ending after talking to Earl Hamner and Lee Rich. It was her idea to have Elizabeth call her. This is one of the great episodes!!!
Thanks Judy, Another enjoyable episode. I watched Kami's episodes on the Waco event, Enjoyed your and her coverage. Looking forward to more from the both of you. Take care, stay safe and God Bless.
I was in school with a boy that had polio so this was still a memory of mine. He had to have keg braces all his life. I’m so glad it’s mostly eradicated now. Mary Ellen with the baseball glove and GW was great! Loved her teaching GW to dance!🤣
I could not tell you how many times I watched this episode in my late teens and early 20's as I have lost count but it would be thus far, at least 20. For me, these earlier seasons were the best and they laid such a family dynamic/foundation that the viewer would automatically be hungry for more, such was and still is the power of this show. Along with this episode, I also watched the thanksgiving 2 part episode (where Johnboy ends up in hospital) at least 20 times. Thank you Judy for taking me down memory lane today and best wishes to you from your waltonian superfan in a cool spring like England😉
Hi Judy An Easter Story has always been one of my favorite episodes of The Waltons. I very much enjoyed today's episode of your show with all of the background info on the cast and guest stars. Thank you for continuing to bring us this always entertaining look back at the best dramatic show from TV's past. Happy Easter Judy !
Hi Judy! An Easter Story episode could have been an Easter movie. Thank you for sharing what John Mc Greary wrote about writing this episode. I also really enjoy hearing how the scenes were created. Thank you so much for another amazing segment. Happy Easter to you and your family.💜
This is one of my favorite episodes, too. I can’t tell you how many times over the decades since this was first aired that I’ve threatened to “wham” someone or called them a “piss ant (a line, of course, from The Homecoming). Somehow, MaryEllen always got the best lines!😊 Thank you, Judy!
Thank you for sharing this about the Easter episode. It is one of my favorites. I watch The Waltons every night, to relax, and enjoy the “family” I have loved for many many years♥️. It is a special show with very special people that were meant to be part of the cast!
What a truly huge blessing this has been to me in your sharing this episode on here that i never even knew existed. As always, hon you made everything so very real, and so very special! I can’t help the tears, it all moved me so deeply. Thank you Judy for continuing to do this channel of yours - and twice a week even. God continue to bless you greatly in all the ways He has for you alone. You are very, very precious to Him in every way. You’ve managed to touch this broken old soul many times over on so many levels during the past years. Love you!!!
I remember watching this for the first time in Spring 1973. Loved Mary Ellen's spirit, the gray & starkness of the landscape to & the period. Great story with well developed characters. Thanks for sharing & the trip down memory lane!
Hi Judy, I remember this episode especially the conflict of religious beliefs (God's will or not) and the plot with Mary Ellen and GW, which was mentioned in The First Casualty when Mary Ellen tells Curt she taught GW to dance. And the scene when we realize Mama can walk is a truly joyful moment. I always shed a few tears at the sunrise service as we are all so grateful for Mama's recovery, this Easter miracle. Thank you to all who made this episode and series possible.
Me too. I believe it was on Thursday nights. Grandpa and my Dad worked together on the farm and Grandma and Grandpa lived 3 miles away. I guess Thursday night was "date night" for Mom and Dad. They'd drop my older sister and me off with the grandparents and we'd get to eat frozen pizza and ice cream, all the things Mom would never let us have. We watched the Waltons. Grandma was just as excited about each new episode as we were. Good times!
Loved "The Waltons" and watched it when it was on. My wife and I are going through all of the seasons again. It always cracked me up though, that Winter was usually only one episode per season. Thank you for doing this! I love it! BTW, YOU were great!
OH! BTW, the coffee cup. It retained continuity because when we see it in his left hand, he doesn't have his finger in the handle. It looks as though it was passed into his left hand by his right because of that detail.
I watched this episode last night. This was my mom's favorite show and she herself started watching it again not long before she passed suddenly, and then I started to tag along with watching this series in her memory.
One of my favorite episodes Judy!! Olivia's strength in adversity and the way the entire family is impacted- so moving. I always liked that scene between John Boy and Daddy on the mountain..powerful! Also, interesting how Grandma and John Boy joined forces in the Sister Kenny method.
This was an excellent review of a pivotal episode. Polio was rampant in earlier years. I am 80 now and one of my third grade classmates ended up in an iron lung. I remember visiting her. Not sure what happened with her after that. It was a blessing to me to see portrayed in the Walton’s that polio affected folks differently and I have no understanding as to why. Now, I hear of people who had mild cases in their youth who get affected again as they age. Again, I do not know why. Thanks, Judy. Revisiting the thread of this episode was very healing for me, in some way.
The scene with John and John Boy on the mountain still brings a tear to my eye even though I've seen it numerous times. Ironically I was watching this episode when The Walton's, Season 1, Episode 1 came on TV.
Thanks Judy I watch your episodes of "Ask Judy " then I have to go and watch that Walton episode again they never get old one of the best TV series ever I was 11 when the Waltons first aired I grew up with all you guys and I live not far from where the the show was supposed to take place I live in those mountains so it seemed like you were all family 😊
My favorite scene is where they all do a little routine to entertain each other. In our family we put on shows like that when we get together on holidays. My nieces always do a special dance they make up every Christmas for example. we sing songs together etc. The Waltons often remind me of my own crazy lovable family. Thats one of the reasons I love the show 😍

This was one of the best episodes of the entire show. The scene between Ralph and Richard was incredible.
I’m so glad you feel that way.
Such a great episode and so appropriate for Easter. A real resurrection type. Wonderful and moving scenes!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you so much.
Thank you Judy for telling the story of this episode. It was so special.
My pleasure.
Judy, how wonderfully you told this story, the looks on your face said you were enjoying it also!
I haven't seen this one yet, Im definitely going to look for it this evening.!!
Thank you so much for this, Judy!!! 🌷
👍👍
Awesome! I hope you are able to find it to watch. I highly recommend.
This was such a moving episode. The acting was superb and heartfelt. I think we all loved this show because of episodes like this one Judy. 👏🏻💕
Thank you so much.
So glad this episode touched you as it did so many of us.
I’m rewatching the series now. I loved the series then and now. Wholesome entertainment that is just not produced now
Thank you.
Thank u so much for talking about this episode. This is a fantastic episode. And again, beautiful shirt and jewelry Ms. Norton
Thank you so much.
Hope you enjoyed your Easter holiday yesterday Judy
Thank you! You too!
FOR Easter, my mom bought me a DVD set of the Munsters
Fun.
Wow - quite a family to grow up in. Bet you could have provided a lot of story content :)
I watched this episode on Good Friday! I've always wondered if Earl's mother had polio in real life. I agree with you Judy, that this is one of the " classic" episodes! Hope everyone had a great Easter.
To my knowledge, Earl’s mother never suffered from polio.
@@judynorton2598 Thanks Judy!
I loved what the reply to GW, it was so funny, and 100% Mary Ellen!
That was fun :)
Keep up the good work.
lol - love it that the entrance by height caught your attention. I have no recollection of doing that, but I’m sure we were told to “find the camera”.
Maybe, that can be a topic for the Ask Judy. Finding your mark. LOL!!! I’m sure it’s not as easy as it looks.
I am so thankful to have grown up watching every episode of The Walton's and currently the re-runs. I so wished we had the family quality shows today that were in aired then❤️ Thank you for sharing the behind the scenes, it makes me feel even closer to you all!
I appreciate that.
This was a great episode one of my top five
So glad to hear that.
I loved everyone of the reunions episodes, especially the Easter episodes.I loved the Easter episode in 1973 when Olivia was healed of the polio.I thought when Mary Ellen wanted to sneak the baseball glove to church was cute.
So glad you enjoyed this episode.
This is one of my favorite episodes. There are other episodes where each of the other adult characters face life altering health issues but you see the importance of Olivia's role in the family here and how dependent everyone is on her.
Very true. Glad you enjoyed the episode.
Glad this is one of your favorites as well.
Great story. I have all the Waltons special 2 hour episodes saved to my dvd. I still love that show. I was disappointed when JohnBoy left. He was the star of the show and my big tv crush.
Glad you enjoyed this episode. We all missed Richard when he left.
Thanks Judy. What a wonderful episode. Happy Easter 💕
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing all of that.
Today at my job, we had a free Spegetti dinner with garlic bread and French dressing salad
yum
Yes, that episode had so many element to warm your heart and tug at your emotions and tears. I recall the dawning of that morning at the end the sunlight shining through the trees and the other scenes leading up to Olivia getting up to go to Elizabeth. Tears of joy flow 50 years later I tell you. Good stuff there! Stories like this is why the world loved the Waltons.
So glad you enjoyed this episode.
Spring of 1973, I was getting ready to graduate high school. Yes, I'm that old!! Loved this episode, and cried, like a baby, at the end! Happy tears!!
That's not old. My best friend graduated in 1972.
Sounds like we all grew up together :)
This is one of my favorites Judy what a wonderful time of the year I'm ad to be able to watch your videos thankyou
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful story of Easter . I saw it as a little girl. Just saw an old interview you gave to Alison Angrim. It was great.
Awesome! Happy to hear that.
I'll have to watch that one again. Thanks, Judy!! Easter is always wonderful, reminding us all that Jesus has risen!! He has risen indeed, and we who believe in Him will rise from the grave too. Alleluia!! Happy Spring to you and your family.💕🎚
Thanks for watching.
Glad both Mama’s recovered their health :).
A Waltons classic. I remember this episode above all others.
Yay!
Happy Easter and God Bless
By the way that color looks great on you.😊
So glad it brings back a wonderful sense of family for viewers.
Thank you so much for doing these videos.
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
This is definitely one of my favorites too. There are just so many layers to this show! ❣️
I agree. Glad you like it!
Thank you for all that additional info.
Thanks Judy,
Another enjoyable episode. I watched Kami's episodes on the Waco event, Enjoyed your and her coverage. Looking forward to more from the both of you. Take care, stay safe and God Bless.
Glad we were able to share that with all of you.
I was hooked by this episode, i remember it well. I think it was one of the best episodes in the entire show
Thank you! Me too!
Michael, Ralph, and Richard all blew this one out of the water with their tremendous acting skills!
Absolutely.
I was in school with a boy that had polio so this was still a memory of mine. He had to have keg braces all his life. I’m so glad it’s mostly eradicated now. Mary Ellen with the baseball glove and GW was great! Loved her teaching GW to dance!🤣
Glad you enjoyed the episode.
Thank you for being such a loyal long time fans ❤️
mine too judy, it is one of my top 10 shows
Yay!
One of my favorite episodes too!!
So glad!
Hi Judy
An Easter Story has always been one of my favorite episodes of The Waltons. I very much enjoyed today's episode of your show with all of the background info on the cast and guest stars. Thank you for continuing to bring us this always entertaining look back at the best dramatic show from TV's past. Happy Easter Judy !
My pleasure. Glad you enjoyed the episode.
Such a great episode Love it one of my favs judy just great
Awesome! Happy to hear that.
My pleasure anytime judy
Easter fell on April 22 in 1973. I was in high school then. We spent that weekend in Chicago.
Well done!!
happy easter...this was an awesome show, it was great when it came to miracle
A beautiful episode.
@@judynorton2598 yes it is...the shows a lot when it comes to faith in God
Hi Judy!
An Easter Story episode could have been an Easter movie. Thank you for sharing what John Mc Greary wrote about writing this episode. I also really enjoy hearing how the scenes were created.
Thank you so much for another amazing segment. Happy Easter to you and your family.💜
Our pleasure. So glad you feel that way about this powerful episode.
Great episode of the Waltons ❤
Thank you!
Thank you so much ❤❤
🥰
This is one of my favorite episodes, too. I can’t tell you how many times over the decades since this was first aired that I’ve threatened to “wham” someone or called them a “piss ant (a line, of course, from The Homecoming). Somehow, MaryEllen always got the best lines!😊 Thank you, Judy!
I really did get some of the best lines :)
Thank you for sharing this about the Easter episode. It is one of my favorites. I watch The Waltons every night, to relax, and enjoy the “family” I have loved for many many years♥️. It is a special show with very special people that were meant to be part of the cast!
Thank you. I love how everyone gelled.
Happy Easter to Walton's family, friends and all the amazing fans!❤
Thank you.
Beautifully and brilliantly written story as well as incredible acting.
Thank you. It was a wonderful collective effort.
Love you!!!
Thank you. I’m glad you have enjoyed these segments.
I remember watching this for the first time in Spring 1973. Loved Mary Ellen's spirit, the gray & starkness of the landscape to & the period. Great story with well developed characters. Thanks for sharing & the trip down memory lane!
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi Judy, I remember this episode especially the conflict of religious beliefs (God's will or not) and the plot with Mary Ellen and GW, which was mentioned in The First Casualty when Mary Ellen tells Curt she taught GW to dance. And the scene when we realize Mama can walk is a truly joyful moment. I always shed a few tears at the sunrise service as we are all so grateful for Mama's recovery, this Easter miracle. Thank you to all who made this episode and series possible.
Our pleasure. Thanks for watching.
Watched 👀 it with my grandparents , oh so many years ago ! Those were the days...
Good times!
Sounds like wonderful memories.
Great :) Thanks for that extra detail.
I watched this episode last night. This was my mom's favorite show and she herself started watching it again not long before she passed suddenly, and then I started to tag along with watching this series in her memory.
So sorry to hear your mom is no longer with you, but I’m glad you were able to share the Waltons with her.
Spring 1973, I was watching this episode lol. I have Ms and could VERY much relate to mamma walton. ThanksvJudy.
I love it!
One of my favorite episodes Judy!! Olivia's strength in adversity and the way the entire family is impacted- so moving. I always liked that scene between John Boy and Daddy on the mountain..powerful! Also, interesting how Grandma and John Boy joined forces in the Sister Kenny method.
So glad you feel that way about this episode.
I’m glad this was healing for you.
A very touching Episode😀
So glad you feel that way.
The scene with John and John Boy on the mountain still brings a tear to my eye even though I've seen it numerous times. Ironically I was watching this episode when The Walton's, Season 1, Episode 1 came on TV.
So glad you enjoyed the episode.
Thank you , Ms Norton. I always enjoy The Waltons ❤😊
So glad!
@@judynorton2598 I'm from Malaysia. South of Thailand.
A beautiful area to live in.
I was 7 in 1973 and my sister and I watched every episode
Awesome. Thank you!
My favorite scene is where they all do a little routine to entertain each other. In our family we put on shows like that when we get together on holidays. My nieces always do a special dance they make up every Christmas for example. we sing songs together etc. The Waltons often remind me of my own crazy lovable family. Thats one of the reasons I love the show 😍
How sweet. Sounds like a beautiful tradition.
❤
A very powerful story. ❤
Indeed. ❤️
