My favorite love story on this show is the realistic relationship between grandma and grampa Walton, especially when he'd try to get frisky and she'd tell tell him "Stop it, you old fool".💖
My favorite relationship wasn’t a real romance but it sure was moving in “The Journey” with John Boy taking Miss Maggie (Linda Watkins) to the ocean and her reminiscing.
Thank you again for another look at the Walton romances. The story of GW always makes me cry, and I still think it was ridiculous that they brought Curt back. This was fun!!
Yes for some reason the death of GW felt so devastating. For me, it was also because he lived on this beautiful farmland - with his parents who were just overjoyed when he returned home from the War. But his brief return was followed by such devastation for Erin and GW's parents. A poignant and sad love story on so many fronts.
For me, the most moving of the romances leading to marriage was between Paul (Morgan Stevens, the late) and Erin. Erin was radiant wearing her mother's beautifully-laced wedding dress ( her actual mother's), and her tears when given away by John. Well, that was a special moment in the whole series.
@@Nonmuss "A Wedding on Walton's Mountain". I believe Mary McDonough's own father had died (a few years before?), so her being given away by John, whom she admired, was keenly felt and translated emotionally in this episode.
I had a crush on Jim Bob when I was young. I was disappointed he never ended up with someone. I loved Mary Ellen with Jonesy! The fun they had as a couple was so sweet. I wish dating was the same as it was back then! Thank you for the fond memories!
Dear Judy; Thank you so much for taking the time to share your commentary on my favorite television series of all time. I watched "The Waltons" each week when I was a child in the 70's. Now, I'm watching them all again on blu-ray disc as a 60 year old. Such a classy series, full of beauty, pathos, romance, humor, and mystery. Your performance as Mary Ellen is never to be forgotten. Please accept my thanks once again . . .
Hi Judy, the romance between John Boy and Jenny was very moving as it was very believable. This was one of many romances on the show that depicted how broken-hearted young romances can feel. Richard Thomas/John Boy's distraught Jenny had to leave him to heal herself after the death of her beloved Father. I remember feeling such sadness when she gave John Boy a gift - a musical instrument - a flute? the day she left abruptly. You covered so many interesting relationships that each character experienced, and the one that stood out for me about your romances was the one with Jonesy, especially how both of you had to cope with the news that Mary Ellen could not have any more children in the future. There was incredible chemistry between the two of you- which made the romantic story that much more believable. Superb acting. :D
@@judynorton2598 one of my favorite episodes was Grandpa and Grandma Walton’s the statue Annabelle and Grandma said she’s a statue Zeb so grandpa takes Annabelle and lays her to rest in Drucillllas pond

GW and Erin was such a sad ending. Loved all the romances and or near romances and the ones that never quite turned out. Such great writing on the show. It still is such a truly wonderful show. Thanks Judy💕
you are definitely not in the minority, Before Corabeth arrived, Mr Godsey seemed content and busy with his grocery store.I think the general store was in almost every episode Judy? When Corabeth fell in love with humble Mr Godsey, the show was more eclectic and exciting. She was a spitfire with her eccentricities and that glamorous language she had :D I liked Corabeth alot - She was a good version of Mrs Oleson on Little House. LOL. And She was also very beautiful and elegant. You would think that the two of them were a real couple outside of the Waltons. Again excellent portrayals.
Mine is Mary-Ellen & Jonesy. He had such a fantastic smile. Richard and yourself had amazing chemistry, and I could watch Mother's Day on Waltons Mountain over and The Whirlwinf over and over again. You were a lucky woman to work both him and Tom Bower ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for stepping back in time with your wonderful reminiscing of your time on the show. Ashley Longworth! How that name has resounded in the romantic 🥰 memories of the windmill of love. I am a woman Vietnam Era Navy WAVE Veteran. In 1975 I married a United States Naval Academy grad. We walked under crossed swords on marble floors at the Naval Academy Cathedral. I am 71 years young I still feel the young romantic woman in me recalling the memories of Ashley Longworth and being married at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
I loved all the John Boy romances. The girl he finally married was my least favorite, she just seemed so opposite of him. I agree with you about Daisy!

I loved how Grandpa was quite the charmer with all the ladies. Johnboy and Jenny was one of my favorite Walton romances. Mary Ellen and Jonsie was also a favorite.
Hello dear Judy. Thank you for this Romances on Waltons mountain video. I enjoyed a lot of the love stories that you all experienced. My most favorite love stories were from John Boy & Jim Bob. Jenny and John Boy had me wrapped in their love story so much that when Jenny left John Boy brokenhearted near the broken fireplace at the ruins of what once a home to the Waltons ancestors, I wept. I cried for him and her because I wanted them to be together and form a family. I also fondly remember the love triangle between Jim Bob, the beautiful Skywalker girl and John Boy. At the end the our brothers stood stronger together and life in Waltons' mountain went on as usual. There's so many beautiful love stories to talk about that I will be writing all day. 😊 Now I must continue my day. Thank you dear sis, and continue to bring us good nostalgic moments and anecdotes from The Waltons' vault. Take care! ❤
The Walton romances! What a great review. Thank you for bringing this all together. My heart still smiles thinking of Jenny & John-Boy's romance. Also hoped she'd be back in the picture when they got older. Daisy is a very close 2nd. You & Jonesy! Oh yes! 💕💕💕
For a small mountain village, there sure were many opportunities for romance. I wouldn't be surprised if , under a nom de plume Mr Hamner wrote romance novels too! (I mean that as a compliment!) This video made me smile, Judy! All the stories were fun. I didn't care too much for the storyline when John, Sr. was tempted by others. The saving grace was the choice for fidelity: a real old-fashioned value! I think GW and Erin's story was the most heartbreaking. I think Ben and Cindy were the most joyful! The Wedding is one of my top 5 favorites. Thanks for reviewing the romance of The Walton's. May everyone find such true love! ✨
PS ~ If the writers for whatever reason had to write Jenny Pendleton out of the show, then Daisy was my second choice for JB! She was a darling character! I liked when she and JB met in NY and she got a speaking part in a Broadway Show ~ "Shall we walk or take a cab?" Cute! And, Sarah Jane ~ boy, that Sissy Spacek was/is just a terrific actress, as are you all. What a true-to-life storyline Sarah Jane's was.

There was also the short lived Erin and Hank Buchanan! They had a date or two. They seemed to have some chemistry and flirted. In the celebration, she also told Mary Ellen that she was going to marry him.
I love that you do these, Judy. :) My husband never got the benefit of growing up on The Waltons like I did in my childhood. We are in the midst of binging it now. Currently just at the early buddings of Mary Ellen and Curtis' "chemistry" LOL The shot hits different in my later years. But it made me realize something. I grew up a city kid, but we moved to the south when my son was 4. He grew up a country kid. Rewatching the show makes me realize he may have grown up a poor country boy, but I think in many ways, his childhood was far richer than if we'd stayed in the city. Hi Judy! Omg I love this video you put together ❤ it’s so cool seeing all the romances through out The Waltons! And yesterday I got a Waltons poster that came and I love it so much. And I hope you have a wonderful day :)
Love,
Jamie ~ huge Waltons fan ✨

❤️ Great idea for a video just after Valentines Day Judy!! I still say Mary Ellen should have stuck with David the doctor but I guess he had to move on to One Life to Live!! 😉
Two other guest stars that were so cute were Jonathan Frakes & David Selby 🥰❤️
We did have some cuties pass through Walton’s Mountain :)
I just subscribed to your Channel. I loved your work in the Walton's. Glad to be a part of this.
Welcome! Thanks for subscribing. Enjoy!!
@@judynorton2598 Thank you, I will certainly watch often❣
Thank you for bringing these stories to light. I know that the entire series was looseley based on the Earl Hamner book but I do love any period fiction. I was in Jr./Sr. High school when the Waltons was on tv and I am about the same age as the Walton children, especially you. I have started to watch the series again on Hallmark and I do love the contest you bring to the story,
So glad you’re enjoying the show.
I'm watching Walton's romance The traveling man great show
Sweet.
I’m blown away with all the relationships you guys had. Lost track of all of them
Many more than I had remembered and I even forgot to include some!
Ms Norton, you are most eloquent. Thank you for sharing your story’s from your years on the Waltons.
My pleasure
That was very eye opening! So many romances, especially for John boy! Thank you for researching and posting all of them! Mary
My pleasure. A lot of work for my editor :-)
You’d think he would have gotten married earlier 😉
I agree, Jenny and John Boy were fun to watch. Was there any young lady that came through Walton's Mtn that John-Boy didn't go for? ha ha
So true. ha ha
Aw the feeling of love 😍 ,thanks Judy
My pleasure.
Poor Olivia had to fend off; that persistent art teacher.... she sure straightened him out! ;-)
She sure did :)
I love my husband, but I don't know how hard I would have fought off David Selby. He was yummy!
fun stuff judy - thanks for the memories! :)
My pleasure.
I really enjoyed this one as well. ( I enjoy them all). But I REALLY enjoyed Mondays and Today's. Thank you!
So glad!

❤Romance time ❤ Thank you for this revisit
My pleasure. 🥰
Many of the these shows I have not seen as they came later. I'll have to watch. Thank you for the overview and video. Blessings to you.
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
I think you are pretty much of a genius to follow all those storylines and present them so clearly. I would not be at all surprised to find out that you are a polymath too. Very enjoyable AND unbelievably INTRICATE.🤣
Glad you like them!
@@judynorton2598 I think everyone did we all loved the cast the storylines being close to Skyler va not to far in Richmond va we all know and loved you guys
Thanks Judy 👍 you're awesome 💖
You are so welcome
Thank you, Judy. Enjoyed the romances. ❤
So glad!
Very cool recap, Judy! Got me thinking about breaking out the later movies! My love to all and..., well; you know.
Go for it!
Another great segment on your podcast Judy,again..brings back great memories. I continue to watch The Walton's everyday on METV.. coincidentally on today's episode it was the one with Jared Martin, who was obsessed with Erin, who he thought was Gabriella.
Thank you for continuing to watch. That episode really is one of our darker ones.
@@judynorton2598 indeed,but still a good one,very well written!
Thanks Judy & Richard, fantastic!
🥰
Hello Judy 😊 Im saying snap also as i liked Mary Ellen and David together and John Boy and Daisy. When John Boy and Daisy got engaged and came home to get married it was so sad and tears me up every time i watch when the little girl comes down the stairs to say hello to Daisy. Tears flood from me 🥲🥲
Thanks for sharing your favorites with me.
Me again just watched your interview with Ross. The work you have put into your TH-cam channel has been evolving before our very eyes, it's even better than a book it's been a continuous saga we have learned so much more from your biweekly segments. A live audio book experience. We have learned so many things about you, and your exciting involvement in the entertainment industry. Unforgettable stuff. I'm sure future biographers will find this channel a fountain of information when they start digging around and discover Judy Norton and the Waltons for the first time. It been a blast following you. It's truly amazing how you connect with your followers and Fans. : )
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.
I love all the romance's especially Grandma and Grandpa, Grandpa loved everyone and made people feel welcomed always and finally Elizabeth and Drew got engaged I was happy for them both and I really loved your's and Curtis he was the right one for you but I love jonesy he was a character. I love the one with your son seeing Grandpa 😢 he was watching over the family and love the Baldwin Sisters they were fabulous women and Olivia and John and love for one another and there children it was a close nit family I just love the whole family thank you Judy lot's of love and hugs ♥️♥️🙏🙏👏
Thank you so much. I’m so happy to hear that.
That was fun Judy, thank you!
Our pleasure. Thanks for joining us.
Melody Thomas certainly had a great career in "The Young & The Restless". I seen Jennifer Jason Leigh appear in many pictures. Best Valentines wishes Ms. Judy.
I liked the episode where Elizabeth was writing to that older soldier. I had a similar situation when I was 20 and a 12-year-old girl was showing affection toward me. It was an uncomfortable situation to say the least!!!
I can only imagine :)
I always wondered what ever happened to the pony cart after it wasn’t needed anymore
I don’t think we ever saw it again after The Ordeal episode - it is now in the Walton Museum in VA.
@@judynorton2598 ok so that’s not a reproduction of the cart but the on used in the show that is great so many things from tv and movies are lost im glad it was saved
Thank you Judy these questions were interesting
Happy to hear that.
