I have a question. Not many know that he could play really really fast across strings. Some say oh yeah he made up for it with hammer ons just by playing 3 notes on one string before his finger struck the next string and repeat. When I saw him on TH-cam playing a fastie, he would play like his picking hand was frozen, moving it up and down the strings or something, almost like his pointer was a plectrum of his own. I do not quite know what was going on there. I would like you to tell us how he did that. In 1979, he played his opening number Listen Here at Montreux. After he plays his octaves, he goes into this really fast riff. On his later performances, he did not repeat anything quite like that.
I met him in Boston one time at the channel my wife got us backstage shook his hand and he said he turned to minor.. can someone came up whispered in his ear and said I got to go take care of business.. and he was cranking that night
I seen one video when Albert and Buddy was playing and Buddy came up and had a friendly guitar challenge and it was spectacular both guys are tough but Albert walked out on top that night there was No denying who won that one Albert was on fire. The video is on TH-cam
