when you look around Barrow and see how many pubs have been converted into houses/flats/HMO's/Serviced accommodation it saddens me to see what a dump barrow has become

OMG the MOT's are expensive only £50!!! What a piss taker, that place with all the shutters on used to be the signing on place back in the 1980's. Many thanks for your wonderful video's MR K...

I'm pretty certain the Queen's was in the opposite direction at the head of Duke St on the side of the road you began the video on not after the Ambrose as you suggested.
    Rugby Club
Kil one used to be opposite Tesco, think it's moved a couple of times, that building used to be the Benefit Office.
    Next was Whispers Night Club
Transport Club was just before the Old Bank
    Remember the Wheelbarrow
Always be the Hartington to me I'm afraid
Yates' wasn't there very long, I remember the carpet shop and pottery better
In the 1990s here was a wine bar in the arcade with an entrance on Duke St
Duke Street looks very different to me who left home in 1994

Do you remember the white lion on slater st , the gay friendly pub with the old record juke box where you got 11 songs for £1,now a car park , the Sheffield which is now a Chinese on the corner of church st and Dominic’s on rawlinson st that is now flats I think ,just to name a few , so many pubs clubs and hotels have gone over the years , the list is endless ,it really is a sad to see

@@jenH779 That sounds about right. It was before my time. I have only been here 17 years. I rely on some research and asking a elderly neighbor.

@@mrkphilippines1194 Kil one was where the bus station was (before it moved up to the old Wire Works opposite the Football Ground) it's a shopping centre thing now I think opposite Tesco. Think it moved up to the old Railway Club before it moved to its present position, the old Benefits Office where you signed on.

Missed out on the confusingly named Barrow Island (not an Island) and Walney Island, a real Island.

Barrow island was a Island till they built Sub pen and museum dry dock.

You are obviously not old enough to remember when it was an island. It was only joined in 1987. Quite recent really.
