That was Famous really up North - The Alderly Rose ! Friends loved visiting there. The Pavilion near Lanchester is as good if not a lot better. You have to book even for the afternoon lunch.
That had my tastebuds in overdrive 😀. My favourite go to meal particularly if my wife is out and I’m catering for myself is the Chinese takeaway. We have an excellent one in my village, chicken curry fried rice and chips yum !! Must ask them if they do a mix meat curry 👍

Ah!... I love a good Chinese Takeaway... My favourite is a Beef Chow Mein with Salt & Pepper Chips, but i have my Noodles in a Gravy Sauce (Wet Noodles)... Your Noodles looked like the (Dry Noodles) version. But that Chinese meal for two did look very nice indeed, and not a bad price either. Thats bloody cheap for the portion size, feed a good 4-6 people i reckon, depending on appetite Best for flavour Chinese closest to me, £16.47 and they dont pack their tubs like yours there. And started using smaller tubs.
You do get good portions with the Chinese and it did look good i get the curried beef near me and he does fresh chips you have to have soft onions and they looked the part bon appetit 😊
What I like about the chips from a Chinese is any you don't finish still look the exact same the next day for a reheat, the chips from a chippy which are better than the Chinese ones if you eat them all freshly cooked look horrible and only fit for the bin the next day.
Aw Gareth, c'mon, it's been years since I had a Chinese takeaway and that just looks absolutely fantastic. The chips look really good for not being chippy chips and that mixed meat dish, well that just made it for me, you are lucky. Not a bad price too for all that delicious looking food. How many local Chinese n Indian places have you done mate looks like a few off each...must be about 50 off each where I live would take me forever too go through em lol... there's 5 in a 2 minuite walking distance and I'm not even in a busy part the city 🤣🤣...if I could afford it I would be on em all but I honestly can't go into a Chinese without spending £25/£30 coz you need the ribs you need a curry..you need a secondary main..and an egg fried rice and prawn toast n seaweed your on £30 there lol...I cant just do 1 main from a Chinese I need two but this is once a year treat so lol...cheers
That looked nice food and can't get over the portion size Chinese round here is a lot dearer and they don't put nearly as much effort in and portion sizes aren't good either but you keeping having it because you like don't you. But reluctant just lakely and not had it for ages seems to have got worst since before pandemic, there's rumours of another opening with good rep from another town so roll on it

Wish we had a decent Chinese takeaway like that in the town I live in, tried them all and although some are okay, there is no consistency with the food quality. Just done a Google maps from mine to Lee's in Barrow and its 112 miles, 2 hours and 5 min away so a bit too far !! :-(

Wish we had a decent Chinese takeaway like that in the town I live in, tried them all and although some are okay, there is no consistency with the food quality. Just done a Google maps from mine to Lee's in Barrow and its 112 miles, 2 hours and 5 min away so a bit too far !! :-(
