Kono Cafe / Convenience store is the first of its type in Russia. Have you ever seen a place like this before. Where you can buy your noodles and cook them right inside the store? I haven't. It was certainly a first for me. Cooking and making my own lunch. bUt was really find though, and fun. And something very unique for Russia.

One thing i can say - i do love it that the Russian people are so cool with vloggers taking videos around them. They don't yell "don't film me!" and run to hit your camera/phone off your hands, they look relaxed and even engage in the videos, especially the younger folks. Nice!

Someone should teach the youth that eating Russian buckwheat kasha (grechka) is so much healthier than eating those noodles that are full of MSG, salt, artificial flavors and palm oil. I got in shape and regained my health eating buckwheat as my staple carb. It's too bad that here in Italy grechka is too damn expensive, because it's imported. Instead, Russians are very lucky, because a kilo goes for 40 rubles. So much healthy grechka can be eat at the cost of one package of noodles devoid of any nutrition.

If we are talking about good quality and retail stores, then buckwheat usually does not cost 40 rubles. The real price is 80-100 rubles.
In general, buckwheat is really expensive to produce, because much less of it is collected from one unit of area than other grains.

But Korean noodles are of cpurse the most popular in Russia seccond only to the local russian brands. The first instant noodles to ever show up in Russia in the early 90s, the legendary "chang-ramyon" styrofoam cups, are still remembered by many as having the best taste ever. Probably it has something to do with the fact that when they appeared there was not much food available in general and people were just hungry but still it does not diminish the fond memories I have about them.

Most shops I have to visit in central London are small and as you say "squashy". And no such dining areas in shops.
